Thank you. The first point really justifies it to me. It's like paradiddles for the drums, which covers most of the sticking and playing options that are also found in actual music :)
It’s a tricky issue. Youngsters sometimes hate scales when they can’t play them. Once they’re on top of them the enthusiasm lifts. Also, they need to know why they’re doing them.
The scales and arpeggios and broken chords are the building blocks of music.howto teach youngsters the importance. The teachers should first of know the importance of scales and they should teach it with enthusiasm. If the teacher brings enthusiasm then it becomes infectious and students understands the benefits. Many times I find the teachers lack of awareness is the cause of pupils not understanding the importance of scales and arpeggios. For students who are beginners Let us try this trick. After a few classes of intro Ask student to find middle c Ask him or she to play 4 times legato. Then play D 4 times Then play E 4 times Then ask to cdec And they have the three notes of a scale Then ask them to add f Then g for a penta scale. Introduce penta scale in next register. Give them home work to play penta scale in lower register. Add curiosity. Ask them to compose a melody using three note and then five notes right from beginners stage. They will come for more lessons. Happy teaching. There is no mediocre student in my opinion. Teach like the teacher in music matters and create magic.

Learning every colour on a pallet and a different way to move your brush will not teach you how to paint.
Absolutely true but it will free you to paint with more sound technique.
