L was defeated but he won.
no one won in my opinion. Light didn't create a better world, L lost Watari,and got killed by his only friend , Chief Yagami died believing that Light wasn't Kira. The task force lost the chief, Misa ended up alone with no purpose eventually commuting suicide, Mellow died, Near lost his mentor L and Mellow, Mikami never helped light create a new world, Takada got killed by Light, Lights Mom lost the chief and light, Lights sister is traumatized, but the worst is Light, Light was a good person, all he wanted was a better world, his heart was in the right place but his way of making that new world was wrong, and in the end he lost and died by the hands of Ryuk. This whole story ends in tragety, eventually the world will become rotten again. - not mine -

I think Kira definitely changed the world for the better. Killed off so many criminals especially and crime lords. Ofc it may be a temporary state of relative peace but I think criminals deep down will always fear Kira's wrath.

It's been roughly 10 years ago when I watched DN. I sometimes search for Death Note soundtracks because it's such good music. When I found this vid, I like to listen to it often, to either just feel the music, to relax, or even fall asleep with. I wasn't really satisfied with the ending, but it's understandable it would end that way. I think that both Light and L deserved better, and I still think that 10 years later. It's also good to see that many people watch/watched this masterpiece of a anime :)

death note's soundtrack is truly brilliant. once you hear it, you know its death note. i swear to god when I listen to this music it makes me want to cry. like i know people hate light and love L, but I just feel bad for all of them. both L and light deserved better. im happy people are watching death note year by year, i hope decades to today, people still remember this masterpiece.
Light deserved a better fate of not becoming a mass murder. Yes but he deserves nothing but a death.
@@lore6488 I mean, I can't say he really DESERVED it, he most definitely had good intentions in the beginning, but as time passed, he had more and more obstacles that were against him. you probably saw that light was a good person without the death note, so the death note was mostly to blame. this is just my opinion though, nothing can really change my mind that light deserved better.
totally agree on that. I watched dn one year ago (as my first anime) and man it really became my all time favorite show ever, the music, the story, the art just everything is perfect and it makes me kinda sad that there won't be sth like this anymore. also the music has a special place in my heart and it always reminds me of the tragedy of every character in the story but also of how epic it was :')

The face of Light in his death seems just a teenager, confuse, inocent, pure, lost... I think that what he was trying to do was just your own justice in world... his intentions wasn't totally mad... and as Ryuki said in the start of death note history... The Death Note is like a curse in the hands of humans... Think with me, Light before Death Note was a popular student and good in any sense... He was a studious smart... family pride... A good brother a good son ... he probably never stoled and would never do that... I feel so sad for Misa... Rem... Light's father... Light's mother... sister... L... in my opnion the truly villain was Ryuki... if the book hadn't fallled of the sky... nothing of this would happenned...
ryuk is a god of death who did not choose any side. why is he at fault for the actions that others did. if I drop a knife on a sidewalk and someone stabs someone else with it am I to blame? and I sincerely think you misinterpreted what the show was trying to show at the end. to me personally its the look of a man who spent his life destroying and rebuilding. using people and relationships to shape his own will and discarding them when he was finished. someone who thought his path was the only righteous one and anybody who strayed to far from it might as well be thrown off of it. he killed when he pleased and who he pleased. so when he was at the highest peak of his insanity he eventually found out he was no god, and that he regretted all of his decisions. as he runs bleeding, screaming, and crying unlikely for a god to do but for a mere man to do. He looks back at his old self before the power and begins to think what would have happened if he didn't take this power. its not the face of a pure, confused, and innocent teenager who regrets his decisions because he thinks they were wrong, it was the face of someone who regretted his decisions because he lost, yet if he won he would have still thought it was righteous. (mind you light was a grown man when he died) as light sits there bleeding out he cries for the people he betrayed, the people he used, and even the people he killed. finally the shot snaps to a real god. Ryuk. and we see him write lights name down and we see the outcome of lights god complex. For someone who thought himself as a god he died in a pathetic and pitiful way. Even though i hate that light died in such a pitiful way and wished to see the outcome of a narcissistic humans perfect world its still a good message about what happens when a twisted human reaches for a goal beyond his limits with corruptive power. also I don't mean you were wrong everybody has their own interpretation but I agree that the death note was definitely what shaped light into a monster. Also some of lights ideas weren't to crazy since deciding who gets to die and what they deserve to die for is something that's happening in our own society nowadays his intentions took a sadistic path when it wasn't about who and what they did and more about who and what inconvenienced light.
@@Cirbii wow never read something like this and you hit every single point in this anime I’m a huge deathnote fan, it was the first anime I’ve watched and by my favorite. As you could’ve noticed in lights laugh it was getting more insane the longer he had it. Up until the last scene where he literally laughs like a whole Monster with those red eyes. It was easy to understand that Light was being corrupt by the DeathNote and like how Ryuk, L, The Chief stated, “someone who was that type of power are very unlucky”.

If you drop a knife in a bad neighborhood, where there is plenty of homeless people, murder, and just bad things in general, then I will say you have some blame on that, but not all. in this case, this is what happened with ryuk. ryuk dropped the notebook in the human world knowing the consequences since it has happened before, but ryuk did it, "only because i was bored." yet is not ryuk's full blame and fault, most of it was his fault for cursing Light and showing his really sadistic and psycho side. it results in the end that Light was just a really narcissistic, self-centered person to the extreme, but the death note was the thing that pushed light to those extremes. in this case, i will blame Ryuk but also light.
he was a whole man when he died. a man that used everyone around him for his own benefit and a huge misogynist. stop trying to be deep.

when the first time i watch death note when i was 14, i was on Light's side. But as i've grown up and rewatched this anime in my age today, 18, i understand L more. And I'm on his side

I still agree that Light was right, I always was a poor boy, I worked so hard to buy my smartphone that was my dream, for three months working under the sun, then the same day I bought it, I was assaulted, it is very painful, the feeling is like you was abused.
