My life size Baldurs Gate 3 Mind Flayer Statue one year solo build

- Hi Folks!
This took me a year to make alone! Made this for PAX and EGX Larian Studios Booth. Sculpted in various clays ( Monster clay, NSP Hard and Medium, Castilene and Aves) on a welded steel skeleton. Head and hands are cast in silicone to give them life like feeling while the rest of the body is reinforced Poliurethane resin and foam. Im sorry due to the HDD failiure i lost videos I recorded while painitng the head of the statue.

Why isn't the fan base exploding over this? Your view counter is missing at least two zeroes! Fantastic work and very mesmerizing and inspiring to watch. A year's worth of work timelapsed in 10+ minutes, hard to wrap one's head around (lost head painting videos pun unintended) :)

I've always been immensely jealous of people with 3D art talent. I've been a 2D artist for ages, and 3D is very challenging. This looks phenomenal! It's immaculate. I love it.

I saw the 1:1 scale and had to look up how tall Illithids were. WOW that's impressive work for a (on average) 6ft character

I can't even imagine how difficult it is to get all that detail from a model/concept art onto clay, but I felt exhausted after just a minute in.

I'd love to see sculpt videos like this with captions explaining what you're doing. its fascinating to watch I just wish I understood
I should do some with voice overs the problem is for me everything is so simple its hard to explain XD
Just remember if you're doing something and you can ask what or why then its something that can be explained.
small projects would be easier to start with so you're not overwhelmed on script writing or editing.
Damn, so much knowledge about materials and techniques, it's incredible. I always wondered how those sculptures on videogame events were made and now i can honor the good ones way more haha
Some of them are made much different a lot of them are printed nowadays big majority carved from foam

From what I can tell there is like almost no advanced tools or anything just pure skill.
Some heavy tools for metal armatrue cutting welding but from then just reular sculpting / dentist tools and an airbrush for painting
