Very clever! And good tutorial. I’m really grateful that you didn’t waste our time by including absolutely every second of your work! A mistake which ruins a lot of UA-cam tutorials. You provided exactly what was needed!
Wow !!! Great job brother. It really is cool to see all the things you did with the skulls too. Thanks for sharing. Of course I am going to do this in the next day or two.
@@OfftheGridMakes I'll add: you can generate a reasonable facsimile of a moving jaw if you use the elastic stretchy silicone cording (it comes in clear, as well as glow in the dark and other colors) and "sew" the bottom mandible to the skull following any Anatomy and Physiology showing how ligaments join in the human body. Nothing like a little wind making the skulls "speak" Without a larynx, poor things can't make any noise, lol!
Super cool! I think leaving some holes & imperfections such as missing teeth, especially if you're doing a graveyard thing or putting lights behind them. Love your pirate bar, Arrrgh!
I like the reasons given at the end. Could have just told the audience that "so far I've filled an entire room with skulls, and I've no reason to stop now" 💀
@@OfftheGridMakes Check out Stiltbeast Studios here on youtube. He has a lot of Halloweeny things to make, and more importantly techniques. Lots skeletons and skulls which fit into your pirate theme party.
Brilliant! 😀...and great use of what would otherwise be rubbish. Painting the teeth, you could paint them entirely black, then quickly, but, gently, wipe off the wet paint, leaving the gaps black. I use this method for antiquing metal castings.
@@OfftheGridMakes In this instance, using undiluted paint would paint the between-the-teeth black, rather than black washing them. Depending on the work, I use both methods. I should have clarified that.
How fantastic! I love this kind of stuff...very unique! Will you be stopping at the finished skulls or will you use this concept in many other things? I think you should continue on. I love the idea of this project and my mind is running with ideas. Thank you for sharing with us ♡
this is my first introduction to milk jug plastic as a medium for molding. It looks simple enough to mold into just about any shape that isn't too small and intricately detailed. The patching technique expands the possibilities greatly. You could patch together the plastic from several jugs to create larger projects. With enough patience and human bones, a person could create an entire plastic skeleton.
Great tutorial and amazing idea. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and as you said you are not professional and a bit of trial by error going on, makes it even better. Bar looking great too, looking like all you need is some Sheila's to put on the barb! Lol. 🤪👍🙏🏴🇬🇧
@@OfftheGridMakes still figuring it out? Look like you conquered it 100% to me! Make me think very talented and like I said, the bar looking fantastic as well! Is it a garden bar or beach bar I wonder? Either way, look like a good place to have a cold one and a few shrimp on the bbq!😎👍🙏🏴🇬🇧
Just a thought but as a dental lab tech and making everything from crowns and retainers we used a releasing agent. In my own lab, I used Water Glass bought at most drug stores. It's cheap and comes in quarts. Just brush on and let set for a few minutes.
Loved it ... thought about filling the skull with quick set cement and base them around my water meter and mail box pole... then maybe my neighbors will be a little more careful using my drive to turn around in... just a thought...
I knew it was only a matter of time before of your great videos popped off! Just noticed this one has hit it out of the park, well done mate.@@OfftheGridMakes
It looks like the bottles you have do a better job than the ones we have . Maybe the ones here have too much plastic . Great video . Thumbs up . Subscribed .
Have you thought about how you could add different effects by cutting the eye and nose holes out? BTW I think the patching you came up with is brilliant and could give you the chance to simulate a cracked skull where you placed the patch, overall this a great project and one that can be customized many ways.
@@OfftheGridMakes as in the commercial kind that aren't actually haunted and people line up to go through and get scared around Halloween? It's a pain in the butt. Lol But his 'haunted house's is actually haunted as well. You buy it, decorate it, get volunteers and actors trained and costumed, then you charge people money to come through. There's also a lot of codes to obey such as occupancy, fire codes(sprinklers, extinguishers, marked exits with lights, etc.and insurance stuff but it's worth it.
Does this also work with PET bottles (transparent soda water/lemonade bottles)? Not everywhere on Earth milk is sold in this type of white jugs. I only see car chemicals, cleaning agents or distilled water sold this way.
....a pile of skulls in my front yard just before tourists return after lockdown absence?.....priceless....thank you OTGM...(and thank you youtube algorithm!)....
Way back in the seventies I had a friend in school who had a skull in the rear window of his old firebird. He had tied into his brake light wire and the skulls eyes lit up when he hit the brakes. This was well before they had the third eye brake lights. Eventually a cop pulled him over about it. He requested to see the skull. Turned out to be a real skull... He spent a fair amount of time explaining to a lot of different cops where he got it. He had found it along the creek bank ten or more years earlier and kept it . This process would probably be more practical than his idea. He was a bit of a strange kid.
Where I live, it would be even considered a traffic violation with penalty to wire any creatures eyes in car to light up with brakes, because scaring other drivers may make them collide.
@AerialTheShamen I live in Florida...we light up anything that will accept a light. Our horse patrol cops have LED light bars woven into the horses tails for night use. If the tail light suddenly becomes invisible...it's because the horse has raised his tail....turn on wipers.
Great hack! For us Yanks (Americans) we don't get milk in these jugs but we do have Wesson oil or the like to duplicate this technique... Thank you for sharing this technique in a world of being "greener" or not buying Chinese crap. Get out there and make great stuff with what we have... If there was any critique to this video, I'd add do the gluing and heat-gunning in a well ventilated area. The fumes may be hazardous. Hats off to "Off The Grid"
Couldn’t you use some UV resin to fix the splits and to secure the top of the scull pieces together? Also, are you using a mask to protect you from the plastic fumes?
These are incredible. Once you became proficient, how long to make one? Or were they all made is separate pieces once you got a system? Really really cool.
