    Your response about the towel holder "I ruined it. So she got a new one and I got a skull holder".... cracked me up. Do it again and she'll have your head on a stick.

    I have a couple of tips to share from one Artist to Another !
    1. If you have something with the hardened Hot Glue on it " such as your Wife's paper towel holder , you can stick the item in the Fridge or Freezer for a little bit and the hot glue will pop right off !!!
    2. When working with glue that comes in tube form, rub a little bit of Vaseline on whatever you don't want the glue to adhere or dry on ( such as your hands ) ! It makes it so much easier to remove , rather than pick off of your skin !
    Bonus Info ... Put Vaseline on the tip of the tube for easy removal of the cap next time !!

      Nice, thanks!!
      Well, the paper towel holder is toast, but I have me a skull holder now (I bought my wife a new one). Thanks for the vaseline tip. After every tutorial I look like my cat when he is grooming, just picking glue and stuff off of my hands.
      Cheers,

    The whole time while watching this, I was trying to think of a way I could mass produce these (faster) so my daughter could use them with her 4th graders. I thought it would be cool to have the kids paint them their own unique way. Very cool idea. On a scale of one to ten I give this a nine!

      @tammygurl64 6 років тому +6

      Lainey Bug. I agree! 👍 I was thinking very similar thoughts. I think they'd be great with a little paint or stain and maybe a little glow in the dark paint with white, black, or red lights inside them and strategically placed for a great Halloween 🎃 display whether it be placed on a stand in various places with raggedy and/or pirate-y clothing draped over it or strung together like a giant strand of electric or battery candle or tea lights at an entry way. Sounds like a lot of work but worth it if one turns their work into a fun party with yummy weird snacks. 🎃

      Yep, just shove the whole thing in the freeze for like a day or two and then pull the skull off. the hotglue doesn't do good with cold.

    I'm a sculptor (amateur) and I love the idea of creating a skull form armature. This would be super fun to do for a Halloween sculpt as a base for a mummy or zombie or something. Plus just as a regular skull they look awesome.

    Thanks for that. I have seen other tutorials for this project but they always say you can't use a cheap plastic skull to start so I've never tried it. I have several of the same skull you used so now I know it will work on them. I'm excited!!!!

    • @MonsterTutorials
      @MonsterTutorials  7 років тому

      I'm sure if you heat it long enough, they may melt together, or if you push too hard with the sponge, you may deform the hot skull below. So, if done carefully, I don't see an issue with using plastic skulls, especially the hard plastic ones.

      Nice idea! 👍👍
      I wonder if ever-so-lightly coating both the towel stand (after adding/drying the glue blob) and the skull💀 with petroleum jelly might prevent the ruin of your holder AND ensure the molded plastic doesn't stick to the skull itself.
      Anyhow, thanks for the fun, down-to-earth tutorial!

      You could have removed the hot clue with the heat gun and a paper towel. Heat the glue till it melts and wipe it off. Bet you tried to scrape it off with a knife and scratched it. Well, now you don't need to make a tutorial about how to make a molding stand.
