    When I used to have vivid colours my concoction was baking soda, granulated sugar & cheap shampoo. The grittiness of the sugar would scrub the colour out ❤️

    • @jaybee4118

      I’ve been using vivid colours for 35 years now. Both work, but the vit c tablets are closer in PH to hair, so it feels a LOT better afterwards. Baking powder (or bicarbonate of soda) has caused damage to my hair before, especially when my hair was as damaged as Aislinn’s is.

    It always surprises me just how well certain types of semi permanent colour stay in the hair. I've had permanent hair dye literally wash out of my hair in less than two weeks, but there were semi permanent colours I've used that just would not wash out. I presume these colours are just really pigmented but it's odd all the same.

    I'm so glad I saw your comment on insta about the pink not coming out! I just bought some dye from that company & I love it so far but I was so scared about the pink, that I held off from buying it. I can't go through another iroiro pink situation again especially since when I bleached my hair it turned green & I had to color correct with pink. 🙃 Dyeing hair so much fun when you're done but man! It's such a process to get there 😫😆
    Anyway, I'm glad the other colors were able to come out for you though! I can't wait to see what brand & design you're going to come up with next!

    Using citric acid from the baking section is much easier, and usually cheaper, than using crushed up vit c tablets.

    • @jenrosejenrose7417
      @jenrosejenrose7417 5 місяців тому

      Keep in mind that citric acid is not vitamin C. Vitamin C is ascorbic acid, but it is also available in bulk powder that does not require crushing. It would be super interesting for someone to test various skin-safe acids to see which works best.

    Whenever I've tried a vit c treatment, it's done nothing! But make my hair feel like crap. My hairdresser told me to stop trying to remove colour with it as it killed my hair sooo bad. I actually love how your hair looked after the 2nd treatment. The yellow and pink looks so cute together!! 😍

    Do you think that pre blending your vitamin C is affecting it? Vitamin C is quite unstable and degrades with air, light, and moisture. Maybe you taking it out of the dark bottle and blending it (introducing air) is making it less effective?

    A stylist friend of mine accidentally removed someone’s pink. She came in with a pastel salmony pink shade wanting to go back blonde. He retouched her and did a bleach wash her was still pink 😬 and told her to just keep shampooing it till it fades. He went ahead and toned it anyways with Joico 10N (I do not recall if it was permanent or semi-permanent) 10-15 min later when he returned to check her hair, it was completely all toned, and back to blonde we were shook because of the outcome.

    Have you ever tried HeadShot direct dyes? I've been slowly trying to play with hair colours (thanks for the inspiration!), but i'm physically disabled so it takes time :P I used mostly used Directions and Revolution so far. Revolution is made for dark hair, so that's probably why it lasts a very very very long time. This time i tried HeadShot and it was the opposite. It never really stopped bleeding for starters, when I rinsed after applying. I eventually stopped rinsing when it seemed that the amount of bleeding wasn't changing anymore. When I washed my hair next, I avoided shampoo, and it stained the white t-shirt that I used to dry it 😆 The colour was still the same blood orange, and it didn't seem to loose any vibrancy. The second time that I washed my hair, I spread the clarifying shampoo all over the coloured part (bottom middle of my hair), and much of it came out! Just from lightly rubbing, almost just coating with shampoo (olaplex 4D). It's faded into a weak coral, probably because i had mixed some pink too. I actually wanted more coral than orange, but it doesn't look very intentional. I think i'm going to put ony the pink over it now.
    Moral of the story: it seems like HeadShot hair colours fade faaaaast. So if you like very temporary, this might be perfect. I liked that I can try something new in just week after having bright blood orange! Downside is that it bleeds (no drying with light coloured fabrics is advised!). I don't know if the bleeding would stain other hair though, for something like rainbow hair.
