Lt. Col. Mark Weber is such an amazing man. What a tremendous example of how to live your life with a purpose and self discipline. This is who we should set before our young men as a role model. Not the Hollywood celebrities and Rock stars. This man has courage, decency, pride, and humility. He knows he has a duty in life, found it and has done his best to fulfill his duty. Thank you Mark for inspiring me and so many others.

Bless him and his family. I lost many family members that have served in the Military. My first was my dad back in 1972. He wasn't killed in combat, He was a Army National Guardsman. My Father's was the first of many , many Full Military Funerals I have attended, I was only 6 yrs old and of course scared and not knowing what was going on. But I have not refulsed any Military funerals since then. I have lost count of how many I have been to, I stopped counting after 6 or 7. I have been visiting my Father at the cemetary for Fathers Day, His Birthday and Just to talk to him. I even went with my husband to tell him I finally decided to settle down and get married. I'm now 50 years old and have been married when for 19 years. I cried throughout all of this. My Dad was taken from me in a car accident retuning home from his "weekend or week" I forget what it was In the National Gurards. Sometimes I wish My Mom hadn't have taken me to he His Funeral. But now I'm happy she did..
    BLESS ALL THE SOLDIERS...

I just had my surgery (breast cancer) last month and now undergoing my 7-week radiation treatments. Watching his battle is giving me a new perspective about life. He had given me so much strength on how to battle my own battle. Mine is compared nothing to his. From someone who never know anything about the military life, I'm so ecstatic about you guys courage, pride, and discipline. I salute everyone in the military. I salute you, Lt. Col. Mark Weber. You will always be in my prayers.

Mari Nyb How are you Mari? Well, I hope. Your comment was beautiful and brave; one doesn't have to be a courageous soldier to be strong, stand tall, and fight the good fight,16:50,though *we love our soldiers*. In a different way we are all soldiers, standing watch at all times when we are ill. I survived(so far)a fatal disease requiring an experimental transplant/surgery that altered my entire abdomen, taking most of the organs and causing diabetes, yet I am here still. I hope you are as well. Health&Happiness to you! from a fellow traveler :)

As I watch this (for the second time and I cried both times!!), my daughter, on the other side of the country, struggles through Marine Combat Training..... a choice we were all shocked by, yet so proud. I stumbled upon this video by accident while looking up information on Marines, and I'm so glad I did. What a wonderful message for all to hear.....sailors, soldiers, Marines, airmen, even civilians. Such humility, sincerity, and strength. What a wonderful person he must have been. RIP soldier. It does my heart good to know that even three years after your passing, your message still rings true and is still being shared across the globe. You've left a wonderful legacy behind. Your family has so much to be proud of.

A very moving song of a dying soldier to say good bye to his living dad, and his son so courageous to sing the song with his dying father. So awesomely humble and a great farewell to every soldiers, friends and family. May he rest in peace and we remember what lessons he wants us to learn. I came across this video and website purely by accident. Having lost my own son in 2002 while serving in the Air Force, the song really touched my heart. Lt Col Weber's talk about integrity and honor were the values my son lived by as well. LtCol Weber was an courageous man and will be missed. I only wish I had found this story earlier because I would have liked to talk to him
My prayers go out to LtCol Weber and his family. God Bless.

Well I held it together to almost the very end. Deeply heartfelt prayers and blessings to this wonderful soldier's family at his passing. I was blessed to spend 50 years with my vet who served 24 years in the USAF. One of my favorite poems as follows:
    "It Is The Soldier"
It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is Soldier, not the campus organizer Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped with the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
    -Author unknown
My youngest daughter requested this poem to be included on her dad's funeral program.
