This movie plot is adapted by a Hongkong masterpiece movie Infernal Affair. When a Good cop and Bad guy mafia switch their role, it becomes chaotic. Then, Scorsese makes The Departed which literally Hollywood version of Infernal Affair. The Departed won the Oscar, so this movie plot is basically an Oscar Winning worthy. 😅 I don't understand why the critics hate the movie.
This film proves why Travolta & Cage are Icons. I mean Travolta playing Cage playing Travolta & Cage Playing Cage Playing Travolta. I mean you can see the amount of studying both of these guys did to get down the walk the inflections. Face/Off is Truly One one of The Greatest Action Movies of All Time.
I remember my mind being blown years ago, watching two great actors, imitating each other. Cage and Travolta really killed their roles here. Both can play evil, and good so well. A faboulous movie!
I remember seeing this in theatres and it's always struck me as innovative and unique that BOTH actors take turns playing the good guy and the bad guy - it seems like something that we should have seen more of. Oh and PROPS for a FANTASTIC Nic Cage impression, bravo! Cheers
Saw this in the theatre too and most of the film my mouth was open at all the action. Just amazing. Besides, where else can you find leading actors doing impressions of each other for most of the film? Lol.
Damn John, your impersonation of Nic Cage is spot on. FACE/OFF is in my top 5 best movies of the 90s, I watch it almost every year (along with Die Hard).
Okay. Maybe it’s not something to be proud of, but this is my favorite Nic Cage movie EVER. If you can suspend disbelief, and I’m really good at that when it comes to my entertainment, it is a BLAST and a half.
yes, everyone goes on about going full nick cage but people forget john travoltas ability to get nuts. this broken arrow swordfish and even the terrible battlefield earth are some of his most insane roles.
My favorite movie memory is seeing a double feature of this and Con Air at the drive-in at age 13 and a love for action movies / an odd crush of nic cage was formed lol
Hnnnnnghh the reveal of Castor's dual golden M!1911 pistols on his back, with that music...damn that brings back memories!!! I had this on VHS and wore it out until the tape didn't even work anymore 🤣
One of my favorite action movies of the 90s! Love Nic Cage in this one, especially his ability to switch from psychotic bad guy to sweet good guy. John Travolta, too, but I felt the difference more with Nic. Great reaction, John!
Absolute classic 90's John Woo. If you haven't seen it yet either, just the year before Broken Arrow came out from John Woo and John Travolta that is also super classic 90's action. Definitely recommend if you missed out on that one too!
John Woo will always be one of the best creative action movie directors. Face Off is the kind of movie that keeps you on your toes, and keeps the adrenalin pumping. One of the most fascinating movies: what I love about this movie is that they switch roles in such a dramatic way. Nicolas Cage the "good guy" and JohnTrivolta as the "bad guy"; their strong points.
This is just so ridiculous that it’s amazing Always lol that after everything they’ve been through, Archer has been stuck in wrong body, his wife and daughter stuck with their arch enemy for weeks and when he’s having the surgery to change him back they’re not waiting it out at the hospital. Just chilling at home reading a magazine 😂

Remember seeing at the theater, good movie entertaining, during those years back then every week there was something decent to watch at the theater , fun times, streaming is obviously good etc but I think alot of younger people really missed out on the theater experience with friends family or dates
This is definately in my Top Cage movies with National treasures, The Rock and Con Air. Unhinged Cage is just... Experience itself, regardless of the movie.
the only movie I want a prequel to. Castor is a great villain. But still: "A violent sneeze will dislocate the mic". "How about a fist fight and a jump into sea from roof top?" "Oh that's ok". :D But fair. Nick Cage does not sneeze so he was safe.
21:55 "What a predicament" I don't think you realise how funny it was when you said this as Travolta says it near the end of the movie at the church lol. Psychic or what
Every few years I have to go back and watch this to confirm that yes, this is indeed my favorite movie. Fun fact. The prison boots are the same movie prop as the boots from the Super Mario Bros movie
Lol it is a fabulously entertaining movie. But the blood type thing at the end is the funniest part, because you need to match blood types for transplants and transfusions. Lol their bodies would have completely rejected the face transplant in what's called 'graph vs host disease'. The fact that they were able to just get up and go to work after the surgeries is hilarious. No down time, no recovery lmao. Just, yep, here's your face Sir. 😂
I was about comment on the casting of a certain someone during the Castor lays the beatdown on Archer's Daughter's Boyfriend and How "Yep that Aged Well" but John being the Iconic Hilarious King He is Beat Me To It
I saw this in theaters as a kid and in recess I would randomly sing * "Ready.... READY FOR THE BIG TIME BABY!"* and literally no one knew what I was talking about as I chased them playing tag because It's not an actual song. My dad was awesome.
This movie is such organised chaos, like different elements that shouldn't work but counter-balance each other perfectly cuz like John said it's so fully committed to depicting what is being shown in that moment, to the point where the emotional beats courtesy of Sean Archer and Joan Allen actually have some weight cuz the movie bothers to take some moments at fleshing them out, rather than making them a stock hammy bickering couple. What Cage does is actually underrated as he has to play Archer getting lost in the role of Troy, so playing two different types of unhinged, and credit to Travolta too as you can't just overact the part of Troy, it's all of Cage's inflections and mannerisms so you as the audience have to believe it really is him. Incidentally LOVED this reaction; such well-spoken and well-informed meta analysis, and with regards to the point about why M:I2 didn't work I just don't think Woo was the right man for that franchise. He's great at standalone movies like this where he had the licence to go all out and we lap it up from minute 1, but with M:I2 that formula works against him and actually distracts from what makes that franchise work so well. Instead of the sinister espionage, the convoluted escape plans, the well-staged set-pieces that make narrative sense with Ethan Hunt as the stoic protagonist instead we got Woo's trademark dumbed down, slow-mo, hyper stylised, smouldering, perfume commercial-type direction.
God damn this film took me back I remember 1 of my best friends buying it on VHS and when we watched it we loved it they don't make them like this anymore
Oh wow that was a great impression🎉🎉 oh man I remember going to the theater to see this so glad you finallt got to see this Nic Cage at the beginning of this with him singing is so great
Nicolas Cage as Castor Troy is one of the best villains ever. Then for Travota to pull it off to talk like him was awesome. Castor Troy reminds me of the Joker
I remember hearing in a document or jail series where it’s against criminal underworld rules to go after police’s family like this. This is why The Joker is a critical characters because he goes against some of the rules even criminals will follow.
Face/Off is my all time fave 90's action films...I watch it once a year at least. I have also thought with Hollywood's love or reboots, I would love to see the folks behind John Wick take a stab at rebooting this.

Favorite quote: "No more drugs for that man."
John’s impression is incredible
The opening of this movie is pure unhinged Cage and it's one of my favorite performances. It's this and Con Air.
I don't understand why the critics hate the movie.
Con Air rocks 🔥🔥🔥🔥
And in 2024, LONGLEGS...
Dude that impression was spot on😂😂 I love this movie, probably one of my top Cages movies.
💜💜💜
This film proves why Travolta & Cage are Icons. I mean Travolta playing Cage playing Travolta & Cage Playing Cage Playing Travolta. I mean you can see the amount of studying both of these guys did to get down the walk the inflections. Face/Off is Truly One one of The Greatest Action Movies of All Time.
There are several contenders for the best '90s action movie. But Face/Off is in a class all its own. Glad you watched it!
Thank you! Bloody well said! Couldn't agree more.
I remember my mind being blown years ago, watching two great actors, imitating each other. Cage and Travolta really killed their roles here. Both can play evil, and good so well. A faboulous movie!

Saw this in the theatre too and most of the film my mouth was open at all the action. Just amazing. Besides, where else can you find leading actors doing impressions of each other for most of the film? Lol.
Face/Off is so campy and good! I love it so much. And John! That impression was fantastic!
Face/Off is 90's Hollywood in a nutshell. Crazy premise, over the top acting and action and it somehow ends up being super entertaining 😅
When he brought Castor Troy's little boy home, they say,my heart grew 3 sizes that day❤❤❤
"Peach, i could eat a peach for hours" that line stuck with me my whole life 😅
Great Nicolas Cage movie 🍿 one of my favourites. "Con Air" still #1 for me. 👍
This is my favorite Nic Cage movie. He seemed to be really enjoying himself in this one!
Freaking love this movie. I know it's chaotic but that's why I love this so much.
Excellent impression of Nick Cage. Impressive
I love how they not only trade faces but body size and facial bone structure. It's a classic
Mine too❤

Gloriously unhinged and deliriously over the top, Face/Off is in a class of its own😅
I forgot just how 90s this was. Both John Travolta & Nicholas Cage being as over the top as the other can go. It was fun to watch again.
One of the best movies of the 90s, Nic Cage is so chaotic
I admire John Travolta's performance in acting as villain...i love him
Hnnnnnghh the reveal of Castor's dual golden M!1911 pistols on his back, with that music...damn that brings back memories!!! I had this on VHS and wore it out until the tape didn't even work anymore 🤣
Them shooting each other threw the mirror was just great.
How can you do that good of a cage impression and not see this movie?
One of my favorite action movies of the 90s! Love Nic Cage in this one, especially his ability to switch from psychotic bad guy to sweet good guy. John Travolta, too, but I felt the difference more with Nic. Great reaction, John!
The film where Travolta and Cage got to turn it to 11.
Absolute classic 90's John Woo. If you haven't seen it yet either, just the year before Broken Arrow came out from John Woo and John Travolta that is also super classic 90's action. Definitely recommend if you missed out on that one too!

Face/off is definitely my favorite 90's action movie.
Welcome too the fan club of one off the best action movie’s ever
Oh man, the 90's were just legendary!! 😂😂😂
One of my favourite 90s movies.
This is just so ridiculous that it’s amazing

This and the Rock were my 2 favorite action movies in the 90s!
I can’t tell you how much times I’ve seen this movie as a kid
One of my favorites from both John and Nick
Remember seeing at the theater, good movie entertaining, during those years back then every week there was something decent to watch at the theater , fun times, streaming is obviously good etc but I think alot of younger people really missed out on the theater experience with friends family or dates
No more drugs for that man.
This movie is nuts and I love it.
This is definately in my Top Cage movies with National treasures, The Rock and Con Air. Unhinged Cage is just... Experience itself, regardless of the movie.
I'm in the first few minutes and John has already cycled through the entire spectrum of human emotion 😅😂
the only movie I want a prequel to.
Castor is a great villain.
But still: "A violent sneeze will dislocate the mic". "How about a fist fight and a jump into sea from roof top?" "Oh that's ok". :D But fair. Nick Cage does not sneeze so he was safe.
This will always be one of my favourite films! Brilliant impression BTW haha.
John with the SPOT ON Nic Cage impression👌🏻
One of my fave classic action movie of all time i love Nicholas Cage and John Travolta 🥰
The prison's name is Erehwon which is Nowhere spelled backward. That just a badass detail.
21:55 "What a predicament" I don't think you realise how funny it was when you said this as Travolta says it near the end of the movie at the church lol. Psychic or what
Love these! You really can't go wrong with Nic Cage. I appreciate the chaos in this one lol
At the time, I thought this was an awesome movie. Looking at it now, yeah it was nuts 🤣🤣
One of nic cages best, alongside con air and the rock, 3 of the greatest action films ever made in my opinion
😂😂😂 it’s the “noooo!!!! that guy” for me 😂😂😂
Every few years I have to go back and watch this to confirm that yes, this is indeed my favorite movie.
Fun fact. The prison boots are the same movie prop as the boots from the Super Mario Bros movie
My Favorite Cage Movie...The Chaos is what makes it Phenomenal ❤
Nic and John could eat peaches for hours whilst losing their shits together.
Top notch impression
Face Off is a masterpiece!!
People who think otherwise needs to get canceled
That Danny Masterson thing was perfect! I laughed my ass off cause I was thinking that exact same thing.
One of my favorite childhood movies right here! Great reaction bro. Also great impressions lmao 😂
Remember when this was released in the theatre... sold out shows... great film and fantastic acting by Cage and Travolta
Jesus, John's Cage impression is amazing 🤣
My favorite Nicolas Cage movie. So good!
Man, you need a partner for a Face/Off reaction. It's too crazy to experience alone for the first time.
God bless my parents for taking 11 year old me to this movie.
Back in the 90's I once used his "suck my tongue" phrase as chat up line. It worked 😉😂
Everyone laughed at the suck my tongue line and then the Dali Lama quoted this movie.
I watched this for the first time when I was 14. I'm 41 now and still remember every scene.
Fever Cheese.... new band name for sure
This, Hardboiled, The Killers, Broken Arrow and Hard Target are top tier action films for me. John Woo is legend.
No love for A Better Tomorrow 1&2?
It's crazy that you haven't seen this movie!!! This movie is crazy but also kinda of amazing
I was about comment on the casting of a certain someone during the Castor lays the beatdown on Archer's Daughter's Boyfriend and How "Yep that Aged Well" but John being the Iconic Hilarious King He is Beat Me To It
It's a great movie. My fav scene is the juxtaposition of the song over the rainbow against all the gunfire and violence.
God, I love this movie since my childhood. Travolta aka Troy it’s a masterpiece! Soooo crazy-evil-madness! ⚡️😈
Can't believe you missed this one growing up. It was a good one to watch with a group of bike-riding buddies back in the day.
I saw this in theaters as a kid and in recess I would randomly sing * "Ready.... READY FOR THE BIG TIME BABY!"* and literally no one knew what I was talking about as I chased them playing tag because It's not an actual song. My dad was awesome.
5 stars for that NC impersonation lol!! Big fan of face off

SPOT ON Cage impression! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
God damn this film took me back I remember 1 of my best friends buying it on VHS and when we watched it we loved it they don't make them like this anymore
Oh..One of the Best Movies EVER from the 90's!!!
Oh wow that was a great impression🎉🎉 oh man I remember going to the theater to see this so glad you finallt got to see this Nic Cage at the beginning of this with him singing is so great
It might not be the greatest movie of all time, but it is one of the most movies of all time. I love Face Off so much!!!!
Great Nic Cage impression !! 🤣 🤣 that is all I have to say lol
This movie is insane.
Interesting fact: When John Travolta and Nicolas Cage were switching, Nicolas said that John nailed Nicolas Cage as Castor Troy.
Dude that nick cage impression was fire actually lol
the ideal nic cage order would be:
The Rock
con air
gone in 60 seconds
face/off
One of my favorite John Woo movies
One of my favorite movies of all time, demolition man as well
Nicolas Cage as Castor Troy is one of the best villains ever. Then for Travota to pull it off to talk like him was awesome. Castor Troy reminds me of the Joker
Cage would have made a great Joker.
I finally found a face off reaction! 💯🍿✅👍
I remember hearing in a document or jail series where it’s against criminal underworld rules to go after police’s family like this.
This is why The Joker is a critical characters because he goes against some of the rules even criminals will follow.
My top 3 cage movies...
1. Face off
2. Con air
3. The rock
The weirdest and greatest movie with The Cage.
Weirdest ? 🤔
You've missed MANY Cage movies, then...
😂
An incredible performance by Nic Cage and Joan Allen and amazing direction by John Woo 🎉
Face/Off is my all time fave 90's action films...I watch it once a year at least. I have also thought with Hollywood's love or reboots, I would love to see the folks behind John Wick take a stab at rebooting this.
