- This video tells the story of the circumstances surrounding the demise of the Chief MKO Abiola of Nigeria. MKO Abiola was a Nigerian businessman and politician. He was the presumptive winner of the June 12 1993 Presidential Election that was held across the Federation of Nigeria.
The Nigerian military hierarchy murdered Chief Abiola and no one was held accountable. What an injustice! But you know, we will all account before our Creator someday, somewhere

Many people who commented here were not born earlier to know about MKO. He was brilliant and generous but not innocent by a long mile. In fact, he was part of the first generation of Nigerian elites to pilfer the nation's coffers through his military connections. PTT contract in 1971 through Muritala ( Minster of Telecom) and then ITT inflated contract earned him $100m (N80 million) in 1975. This led to a massive investigation that saw the NET building set ablaze. The top floors that were affected housed the accounting facilities where most of the records were kept. Highly respected and clearly won the elections, and while I won't rule out foul play, I also believe Karma caught up with him. I'm Yoruba but just keeping it 100.
... late Fela wrote songs about this man yet people glorify him, even named a national holiday after him... what was his contributions to national democracy ? If not to cement his wealth acquisition stance by becoming president. A man fighting for his own agenda.

He was talking about 1993 riot , when Abiola won the presidential election but annulled.. I was only 10 years then too.. Tear gas did us shege as our house was near express where all those Hausa trucks used to pass and they were attacked by the Yorubas , then that made the express point of riot... War is not a good thing tho! Thank God for life!

All in all the military will never let Abiola to leave the detention alive because he must have learnt some dealings of the Military while in custody and will eventually go after them when released having already threatened them earlier before his arrest.

I watched this before, however, without any emotional attachment or sentiments, what I can say considering the Major's background as Military Intelligence Officer, returned to the country from training via diplomatic route. He understood the issues at stake. His account seem very well prepared and delivered. No rambling or beating about the bush, answered every questions with little or no room for unnecessary further probing.
The man truly sounds very sincere. Though there may also be some things that happened outside his knowledge
