BIGGEST TIP IVE EVER FIGURED OUT. At really any stage of the game, use the triangle scaffolding and rotate it once each layer and you can make a very easy and super efficient way of getting up, it’s a bit annoying at first becuase it’s parkour but with only 5 you can almost get to the sandbox and all it costs is 5 weed stems, 1 each
For those who don't like parkour, grass half floor + grass half walls also work

Clover roofs or clay ¼ foundations
Blocking resets your attack animation, which allows you to do combos faster than usual and it also works for harvesting resources. For example, you can cancel the shovel animation by blocking as soon as it hits some clay to break it quicker.
This has been patched as of the super duper update

@@josephcowan651 i just looked for the patchnotes and thats bullshit, what you are saying applies EXCLUSIVLY to crossbows giving the "rough reload" debuff when block canceling animation cutting your damage if shooting faster than the normal attack cooldown would take
I figured this out with the crossbow but didn't think to use it with melee tools
A tip for your newfound love of spear throwing: carry more than one, your hero will auto-equip another. The catch is they have to be the same level, or the game doesn't recognize them as the exact same.
Carried 6 so I could throw 5 and still have a weapon. Took me so far!
Probably the most op for anything stabbing wise early on. Weevil shield and 7 spears, block, grab, throw, repeat! Gg ants
Tip for Candy:
Save up 10 Mint Shards, 3 Spicy Shards & (as of 1.2) 10 Sour Lumps...you need to eat these to get Phase 3 Fresh Defense, Phase 2 Spicy Safety & Phase 3 Sour Sensation

Thought I'd help correct something. Parry master doesnt affect your parry window. It refunds stamina on parry.
The koi armor does however extend the timing window, so you're right there. The wizard hat has a similar ability.
The compliance badge is a really strong offensive badge for parrying that replenishes your health on parry also. Very highly recommend.
What's this about a wizard hat?
@@kyleanderson449 There is a wizard hat you get from beating the termite boss in the wood pile. It also unlocks a sour, mint, and spicy wands.
Spicy shoots a fireball, sour shoots a Tesla ball basically, and mint just breathes it out in front of you creating ice spikes.

Doesnt say anything about the window for parry, only the stamina gain when successfully doing one.
SUPER USEFUL TIP: Especially for newer players and people who aren't familiar enough with bug attack patterns to fight them easily. Build on top of stuff. While you can't build on top of the machine, you can build on top of the baseball, the first main landmark you come across. You can get to the top by climbing the stick. You can build a full base or just place a roasting spit, workbench, and lean-to. No land-based bugs can reach you, raid or not. Flying bugs can, but it is unlikely that you would trigger a flying bug raid that early into the game. The baseball is my first go-to base since it's close to a field station and VERY safe. It's kinda far from Burgle, but building on the ground near the oak tree is just asking for wolf spiders to walk into your living room. Everywhere else has some sort of main threat, so getting familiar with the game in a safe base makes sense. The only hostile bugs to think about are mites you could run into or an infrequent roaming wolf spider at night. If you anger an ant or a ladybug, you could have to fight them as well.
Regarding bugs not coming out at night: Orb Weavers sleep at night but are more active during the day. Wolf Spiders are more active at night and sleep during the day. Going near a Wolf Spider den during the day will work out if you don't get too close to wake them up. Going near a wolf spider den at night = instant fighting and scares, since wolf spiders patrol at night. I don't know if that changes with difficulty, though.
I build into the side of the oak tree partially for this very reason since hanging in the air off of a sheer face means very few things can even get to me.
The best tip I could suggest for anyone building with weed stems or grass, instead of just changing gear to increase hauling strength, build a stem pallet and grass pallet and just relocate them as you need where you're gonna be building and alternate between where you're harvesting, so then you're carrying around 24 each beyond what you're carrying so with no hauling gear you can carry around 29 rather than 5 add red ant armor and/or the intern badge and smoothies. I keep a couple pallets of each at my base center and then one at each of the various camps at the perimeters of my base, it's made harvesting and building a lot more user-friendly
Funny thing is I found this out almost immediately when I got the game 😂
Here's my two cents - you can use a jerky rack to process hides into leather instead of a workbench. It takes a while, but you get a 1:1 ratio of hide into leather for Berry Chunks and Grub Hides instead of 2:1 and 5:1 respectively.
This is what I've been doing. It takes so long that I made 2 so I can still make jerky
My biggest tip for new players is to try and save everything. That sounds like common sense in most survival games but I feel like people don’t really follow it, so when I say save your resources, you should.Grounded makes you grind a lot and you can skip a lot of the grinding by trying to save all your items with very few exceptions like spoiled but even those can be vital in certain situations, so please don’t learn the hard way like me and save your resources.
Great video! Here's a good tip for scarab hunting I wish I knew sooner. If you've got two people, you can have one sit on the resource scanner giving constant map updates of their locations while the other person actively hunts them. Works for every critter, but most useful when it comes to scarabs. That extra information goes a long way in making sure you have a successful hunt.
When you use the resource scanner it keeps whatever you're looking for as red dots on your regular map.... Which means you can constantly update yourself with new waypoints every time you need another (whatever you're looking for)
@@ajaywood1235 that is true but the scarabs are the fastest enemy in the game and by the time you get to the red squares they either ran 500cm away or have despawned so it’s not useful on the scarabs
If you parkour in the Undershed, and climb the white pipe to the left of the entrance, there are about 5 scarab beetles in the pipe, which can't burrow, or despawn.
I appreciate UA-camrs who fully tell the truth. And don't care what others think because that's the power of honesty. And also making content about games, to educate us to make sure we have an amazing game experience, that is ultimately more then words can describe. You are just awesome and all UA-camrs like you thank you so much for all you do.
If you hang around the ant mounds, eventually they'll gang up on ladybugs and stuff. while they fight it out you can collect the free bug parts as they fly.
And you can get red ant parts from this or the edge of the haze to make the armor set so they are friendly.
I really like how grounded doesn't really tell you much. I always find it difficult to remember certain things in games when it's told to me, but whenever I figure something out on my own, I find it easier to remember it. It also makes it a lot more rewarding when you discover something new and it's super nice not always having a voice talking to you saying something like "Hey go into that cave there's important stuff in there!" I just feel like Obsidian did a great job with telling us everything we need to know and leaving most of the game's mechanics up to the player to discover

You can also eat some spicy candy to get the spicy safely mutation which protects from slashing and stabbing I believe

There is a trinket you can craft using the Left and Right Elf Charms. Sarah's Charm combines the effects of both and its really good.
That widow knife is a pain to make though where you can put them together
Using the teir II hammer and some patience you can turn the D20 by a section section until you get the 20 right side up. I find this more precise than the ant club and fewer attempts tend to be needed. Note you will need the third swing with the hammer to move it.
You can do it with arrows and the crossbow which is much easier

If you have problem with parry timing, time it using rhythm and click with the rhythm. 1 2 block etc.
If you eat a spicy cha-cha you unlock another mutation called spicy safe if I remember correctly. It helps with smashing and stabbing damage
Yes! It also has a hidden component of resisting explosion damage, supposedly.

For trinkets I recommend the one by the outlet near the hedge if you’re good at blocking, and the one in the bbq spill for assistant manager as you won’t be blocking as much (or if you can’t time blocks well). One worth getting early mid game is the intern badge hidden on the upper yard wall by the juice box. It saves so much time while building, even if you aren’t strong enough for the bugs up there, I recommend just rushing past them to get it
You need T3 axe I believe! The dust mite hat is also fantastic, no reduction on speed
Not gonna lie, I was kinda struggling with end game content under shed n what not, till I saw video about sleek lady bug armor giving more healing, paired with tick mack, and well fed meals to add health regen + bandage, I am damn near indestructible now lol...

I actually got the "Shocking Dismissal" from my friend when he was using the pinch wacker. The AoE it does did some damage to me and I got the mutation lol

Funny because it unlocks from killing assistant manager, not from taking shock damage. So your game either glitched or you’re just lying.
I have a tip: wear the ant armor, become one with the ants, ants won’t attack you and if you’re near an ant hill they will fight certain insects that get near their ant hill. I killed some lady bugs stink bugs and wild spiders with my army of 20 ants

Tip: in endgame if you need some quesadillans go to the bbq, sandbox and the little ravines infront of the termite den area.. the buried treasure chest have a decent chance after doing all 3 areas to give 1 quesadillas for free. ( fun fact: 1 chest can hold 2 meals not just 1 meal max those include, a quesadilla and a omelant. :D )
I think they should add what damage type the creatures do to the creature cards. I.e smashing . Stabbing etc would help with knowing which of the mutations to use from eating the candy. Keep up the great vids .great to se me ya getting the surge in exposure 👍
Hey there, i know you love the SCAB Background (Intense red/yellow Colour).
I just wanted to say as a Nightmode-User who is sensitive for strong Colours, this is hard to watch your Grounded Videos.
Maybe some others have the same Problems as i do.
I dont want you to change it, if you love it. But just keep it in mind, some ppl have trouble.

Best multi-use weapon is a Fresh Termite axe. It has weapon and element advantage on mosquitos, bees and bombardier beetles. Also with Chopper it is great against infected. Axe is seriously under-rated.
Don't upgrade anything useless, quartzite and marble is limited asf (tip I learned that really helped me)
Here’s a nice tip: if you are losing durability on strong weapons or armor that are expensive to repair, you can upgrade them and fully repair them.
That's already in the video.
Pro tip no one talks about. U can carry a storage container with u everywhere u go for extra storage.
Getting nerfed in long run
One of the best tips I can think of is,
Use photo mode to scout out ahead. Weather it’s for resources or enemies. This comes in handy when looking for,
Feathers
Weed stems/ Dandelion tufts
Scouting routes up vines
Scouting for ideal building locations
Helps massively in last lab location
This has helped me in almost every situation
If you're good at timing. Build levels of just a boardwalk of plank floors with each one getting shorter and at the end put a trampoline. When you jump on all you gotta do it press forward and you have a system of getting good height distance.

"Slight inventory issue" - Understatement of the year in gaming. I don't know what it is with these gaming developers when it comes to space to store/carry stuff.
1 think i wish i knew befor i started was that plants like gras and dandelions dont grow back if you shop down the base/steam, in my opinion that is so bad game design i dont understand why they didnt do like so many other survival builder games where everything grows back as long as there isnt foundation radius blocking them. Sadly i found out about this after i have already destroyed 30-35 ish dandelion spawns
Also, you can still get burrs in the flowerpot across from the Mantis arena before you plug the weedkiller with gum
7:47 eatong spicy candy will also give you a mutation and mints do respawn in the candy containers now
You should do an updated 50 tips video for fully yolked. Some of the tips mentioned are obsolete. The mints do actully respawn in the candy box's.
i really hope they add a buff to inventory space or some sort of upgradeable backpack or as a minimum atleast allow certain materials to be able to stack (food of the same type) and to allow other materials to be able to stack more, there’s to many resources and the inventory system is honestly so bad
The biggest tip I have is don't just upgrade weapons and armor without putting serious thought into it. You WILL run out of materials and might not have a way to get any more for a while. It's a real annoying part of the game. I understand not wanting to have these resources respawn, but there's just not enough. Maybe if you play solo, but you really get screwed over when you play multiplayer. It's a serious flaw with the game.
Later in the game you can use bug parts to make upgrade materials
@@Zeroconfuzled MUCH later in the game though...it's all out of whack. One of the last things they let you craft is brittle quartzite, which you need to upgrade any weapon at the start. It makes no sense to lock that at the end of the game. You unlock the ability to craft the higher upgrade parts long before you unlock the ability to craft the lower level ones

Having sturdy and supreme crafting being the last two chips available is detrimental to progression. Especially when the stump requires going back to a previous side area after beating the black anthill then going to the upper yard to even access it.

Ive never been fond of elemental items the only time i was was in my main EA save i had coaltana, morning star, and mint mace. The only ones i take are sour. Just not a fan of having a seperate weapon for basically each enemy lol
Tbh the sour upgrades are practically mighty upgrades that are cheaper. There isn't much that resists sour and sour is 1 whetstone while mighty is 2.

@@ZeroTodal the only weapon I use mighty on is the broodmother club so that I can kill black widows without dealing with them resisting everything since generic is a practical weakness for them.
@@zaclittlejohn2701 yeah i went for a mantis crit set and put mighty on my scythe. I know its not the best build but i have fun with it. Melts orb weavers and makes fighting the mantis a joke
I save my granola bars for if I'm out of jerky, cooked meat or meals on my travels. I mostly take grub and weevil jerky. Just whatever you do, do NOT leave roasting spits or jerky racks unattended while they're outside. Ants will come for the food. Thats why i don't leave them alone until i move them indoors. In terms of smoothies if its something that gives an attack buff then I'll use gum.

That's a great list of tips! I already knew quite a lot of them, but I did learn a thing or 2. Plus I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that didn't already know lots of these, and they really do make the game easier!
One flaw in goading the bugs to fight each other, you don't get kill credit, and thus no progress toward kill quests or mutations.
The Biggest Tip i can think of sharing is....
The chewy one on my pink tipped salty morning weapon that I keep tucked away in my hot pouch I actually lost it in a honey pot temporarily.. So don't whip it out near there. LOL
And.. Don't get stung by a Bee like I did..
I learned the hard way that being charged £80 for a jar of Honey by one of the spikey fluffy assed swines is a total rip off price.!
Also don't bother with bouyant foundations as these are expensive early game and you can build firm foundations by lowering a wall blueprint into a lily pad and starting the wall build half way down for a firm floating foundation..

I'm a brand new player and I'm so lost on where to go and what to do, this helped slightly but only slightly like ther is so much more to thus game than I though
I killed all of the black widows and didn't get enough super venom for the new spider blade. Have been waiting for the respawn, I didn't think it would take 14 days to respawn jesus.
Yep I got 1 for 4 kills....
I killed 16 to get the dagger and armor. It was pain.
If you need pond moss you can kill a bunch of spiny water fleas for it now. Pretty low drop rate, but probably better than fighting an army of widows.
You can get 8 shiny shells easily in the undershed, but it requires some relatively easy parkour.
You need to get in the white pipe with the coin in it at the end of the upper area where you walk across the cables and pipes.
Inside there are four of the beetles, and maybe some spiderlings. These beetles are stuck and cannot escape the pipe or dig away, making them the easiest source of these shells for making jewel gobs to upgrade to lvl 10 weapons.
Chances are, you shouldn't need to do this more than a few times, as the Supreme variants of the upgrade stones are so limited and the shiny shells aren't useful for anything else as far as I know.
at 1:55 it says u can survey thorn? is that.. in the game..?
The marble in the black anthill respawns for me all the time
FYI for new guys you have to kill and collect to get the gold card just killing them does nothing thats the case on xbox for me anyway

Didn't they change Parry Master? It no longer extends the wondow for parrying it refunds stamina on perfect blocks

My friends that I play grounded with call me the parry master and the tetanus attacker. This is because I have max level parry master and I use one of the trinkets so that I can heal from every parry. The second title is because I use a rusty spear normally since I prefer using spears.
I also like turning babies into grenades...

I played grounded when it was in early beta and didnt play it much after once i got back on the game it was weird yet fun the change that confused me the most was definitely the mint mace i had no idea how to get it again
Oh yeah one more thing if you Throw your Hammer at Acorns they will Bust open in one hit
Two things that haven't happened in my game yet.
1. O.R.C. lightning bugs
2. The toenails in the ashtray have never respawned. . . 🤬
I found the ones in the upper yard respawn quickly, I believe in the white piping and in the bone
My luck for the broad mother was really high, I got two of its Charms after 9 try’s
Also eating the same number of spicy ChaChas will give you the mutation Spicy Safety, Similar to Fresh Defense
Please do a video covering the story of the 5 ominent employees and what happened to each of them. Only got round to seeing the notes recently and the story they tell is great!
The resource surveyor you can just type What you are looking for if it is not on the list
Guess he did not now that oh and if your good Enough you can shoot the Crossbow shoot it and swap and then back to the crossbow shoot faster
Ironically you do want to eat the candy like mints and that but only until you max out the mutation level
You can also eat the spicy candy to unlock a mutation. Only the MINT and SPICY give you mutations, nothing else.
I'm not sure about sour wormholes, but there is a mutation for the spicy cha chas, only 2 levels though.

at 1:19 there is a item called "Thorn" under the thistle needles, what is that? ive tried searching for it but i just get thistle needles back.
Is the red ant club and arnor worth upgrading or should i wait? Also, i have built onto the lab by the baseball but wouodnt the oak tree be the best area because not only is it a location id be visiting to take super chips back but when i can build ziplines its probably the best id assume.
So you can actually go to the plant pot on the shed deck and pick up burrs there, no tool needed, and you can leave the haze alone.

Still waiting for the ant queen to be added as a boss or mini boss
Also the scythe of blossoms that you get from the mantis boss does chopping so it can quickly kill wolf spiders and with the apex predator mutation the hidden ability of that weapon is quicker attack speed so its even faster as well it can chop down anything tier 3 and below
They moved mosquitos and I'm so sad I like my blade. And the also took away the quartzite shards too from the first cave so that sucks

But you can't do anything with the small amount you get, the plant doesn't respawn

Can you do a guide on infected wolf spiders? I have no trouble with regular wolf spiders and I can easily parry the infected one but it explodes anyways and kills me in about two hits.
I tend to use fresh arrows and cheese them.
Any tips for woah difficulty? Me and my freinds are doing a woah runthrough for pur first game we have killed up to the stinkbug🤣
super important tip: when heading to the hedge lab, fight the broodmother. it has like one hp! (so easy. free loot)
