I changed computers so I'm unable to post a follow up video with the other strategy so I'll say it here - it takes much more skill but it is 100% effective with no RNG or variables. If you can shoot the locks off of the floor very quickly, you'll still have time to headshot Ouromov before he kills Natalya. You can maximize the chances of this by shooting off some of the locks before any of them see you (stand beside the door out of sight while shooting the locks). Since the floor is already opened now, you can IMMEDIATELY exit the train and the game will think you're still in the train car, make sure you kill Ouromov before you exit the train. You just need to run all the way to the end of the train right away, AS SOON AS YOU KILL OUROMOV EXIT THE TRAIN AND RUN TO THE END OF THE TRAIN. Stop about 10 feet short of the end of the train, there will be a little mole hill on the jungle side of the mission, and it'll be pretty much adjacent to a little ladder/door on the train. Crouch behind that to avoid getting hit by the guards and wait for Natalya to complete the other objectives. When the timer hits 8 seconds left, run as fast as you can to the end to fade out the mission. The final objective will complete a second or 2 before the mission fades out and before the train explodes. Strafe running is probably mandatory for this so if you don't know how to do that then maybe don't risk it. ALSO!!: I don't recommend the watch laser anymore, it's inconsistent. Use the 2x ZMGs.

Glad I saw this video. I knew about the last part through watching other videos and reading guides. But every other video is basically showing a speed run where they don't wait on the last part. They just kill the two guards and run straight into the room with perfect aim to take out Mr. O and Ms. X. I've failed probably 30 times thinking I had to sprint through that part and lineup the perfect shot in one second. Now I see I can wait for the door to close, then walk in and take a few seconds to lineup the shot. Thank you!
I used to be a master w the n64 controller but now I can't understand how we ever managed lol. So glad the controls for the new version is modernized on the xbox

Thanks for posting this tutorial on train. I kept getting Natalia killed and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I was rushing in guns blazing and she would die everytime. I didnt realize I could walk in and just aim at Omorovs head and shoot Xenia too. It worked! Thanks!

Dude thank you! When I was a kid I didn’t think it was possible to beat this level on 00 - I’ve just beaten it for the first time, on a switch no less! You legend, now I stand a chance of unlocking the two bonus levels that I never got to play as a kid… Love the videos man, I hope you come back and do some more videos sometime!
So much of my grief on some of these missions was lack of patience. It’s been a good 15 years since I’ve played but the last room on the train was masterfully done. I’m not sure I even knew you could enter the last room and get a clear shot at both Or AND Xenia without getting Natalya killed. Alec actually gives you a decent chance and I didn’t realize there is a fair bit of commentary at that point in the game
Best way to do it is not shown, and with my new laptop l can't use my capture card to make new videos. If you're good enough with your aim you can shoot the locks off before even shooting ouromov, then once that is done shoot ouromov and immediately leave the train. Then you wait near the end of the train and exit before the timer runs out.

Thanks for these videos. I’ve been grinding on it since they released it on xbox last week and have had a hard time with the 00 agent stuff and unlocking some cheats. That invincibility on facility is a tough one.

thanks, i enjoyed it. i know how annoying it can be to not explain why someone is doing what theyre doing. understanding the fundemental reasons why its being done can explain it better and allow it to be done easily. my old journeyman used to say to not show apprentices how to wire things, but instead show them how it works and with that knowledge they can apply it and know how to wire many different things!

Yeah man I had to buy the Bluetooth wireless N64 switch controller due to this and it was like riding a bicycle. Best investment ever being able to play those games on the controller that was meant for them. Was damn near impossible to get used to Goldeneye with the Switch Joy-Cons.
I was so excited when goldeneye came out, but I was so crushed when I found out it’s unplayable using joycons. We have a knock-off classic controller and that wasn’t much better. Finally I got a pro controller and that fixed it. You can’t finesse any movement without it.

Took me like 50 tries as asult and never beat it as kid. I would get to end and get stuck on killing general. Jump out of train went left lost. Went right but she got killed in blast. Found jumping out and going right but shooting backwards helped. Thx man
@mrtedmcforehead .......Can't thank you enough with the many tips to solve these missions 👍 Hadn't done gaming in decades and last played this on Nintendo in the late 90's lol. Recently got the xbox with gamepass and was thrilled to indulge in nostalgia of the one of the most fun and often frustrating games from way back. My buddy and I played it off and on for 3 months trying to get all the missions done on double agent. Can't believe we did it with no tips or tricks like you've shown here. Gotta say, train is one tough mission and for me it was making that darn laser cooperate to cut the floor hatch, lol. I played it on agent or secret agent to practice tracing the line out and gaps between the hatch which helped. Awesome tip about taking your time and taking out Ouromov and Xenia by lining them up. We had no clue back in the day and thought you had to shoot him quick or he'd kill Natalya, lol. Luckily we beat it doing it that way. Also was interesting seeing a top ten list for toughest missions from youtubers. The one that was the hardest for me was Silo, either having next to no health at the end or not even time to get to the elevator. Train is also right up there. Your awesome tips helped greatly to simplify other missions, like depot using the launcher for the drone guns. Bunker was a tough one as well, had no clue about knives to use by grabbing them with the magnet. Also archives just by chopping them and staying stealth worked very well. Have a wonderful holidays and a healthy and happy New Year, you've helped this Canadian so much with all your tips through these missions. 👍

I remember dying a lot on this train level. I played this back when it 1st came out, 100%ed this game & beat all the required times for the cheat codes menu. This was way before youtube vids. So I didn't know about shooting X-ena giving you more time.

Playing this game when I was younger I always died at the last room. I didn’t know I was suppose to laser the floor thing off or it could even do that. I would just run all the way to the back of the train assuming it was something I missed and boom I’m dead. Later on i found on how to beat it but i definitely got stuck here for a bit lol
At the end I usually walk in until Alec says that's close enough, then take a moment to creep into the right hand corner of the room in order to aim at both Ouromov and Xenia. I used the ZMG since it fires faster and managed to hit Xenia after Ouromov. Sometimes I had the worst luck with the last guards outside as I was running.. so now I just quickly turn around and shoot them on my way out
The beginning of this mission was always the most frustrating part. Sometimes the guards would just stand there and do nothing. Sometimes they would shoot the boxes and i would have no health for the rest of the mission. It is all down to RNG and i absolutely hate that.
Just throwing it out there, the 2 guys that spawn behind you that you describe at about 5 min into the video are actually behind the 2nd door to your right when entering that train car. If you kill all the guys out side of the rooms on the right, they'll come out of that door before you go all the way to the other side of the car and you can get em cqc if you wait for em to come out.
yep the door opens basically when you run by it. i just dont like running by it and immediately turning back because you can get caught in the hallway and take shots from behind while killing the guys in the little room.
This was one of the most frustrating levels because you go through the whole train only to fail because rescuing Natalya AND opening the floor in time is near impossible. Too bad there wasn’t a level continue feature
Just done this but didn't get enough bullets into Xenia to kill her, got the ' wait for me..." dialogue but no extra time at the end just the usual 5 seconds . However, once outside just turned left into the dead end where the enemies are and Natalya followed me and just need to take out the guards and stay there until the explosions clear. The laser watch on the guys with double guns towards the end worked great, thanks.
yup... im trying to make a video on the 3 ways to complete the end of this mission. unfortunately l cannot figure out how to set up my old capture card despite using it previously for these videos.

How are you holding the watch so steady to shoot the locks off the trap door? I’m playing on Nintendo Switch so maybe that has something to do with it?
Once you run it the first time it gives you a heads up what to do if you screw up the first time which I did they shot Nataliya immediately as I opened the door lol but the second time worked fine thanks for help
Thing that gt me was even before entering the last room Alec said something then added "come in" or welcome in" something like that so i kina panicked and i some how killed the Russian and killed Natalia at the same time.
I can't get past the first set of guards. I tried what you showed here, but they blow up the box right in my face. To make things worse, THEY can see me right through the blown-up box, but I can't see them at all! Any tips to avoid this?
She solves Boris' password with like 5 seconds left and dies every single time and I even wait to laser the locks until she starts typing. Idk what I'm doing wrong
1 - kill ouromov and also kill xenia, it will usually buy you 15 seconds. you'll know this worked because will complete the final objective and there will be like 18 seconds left on the timer. 2 - read my pinned comment, its the most reliable method. 3 - if it doesnt work, exit the train, run straight until you hit the jungle wall, then run along the wall to the left towards the guards, kill them and stay on the wall while moving towards them into a safe area. this often keeps natalya alive.
It is currently taking me over 7 hours to destroy the locks. That is the hardest part of the entire goldeneye game, I know because I've played it entirely on another cartridge. I am doing it now on a phone. Yes, goldeneye on a phone.

Can’t get the ending right. Either I shoot Ouromov and the shutters come down before I can get Xenia or I shoot Xenia and Ouromov kills Natalya. How is killing both possible?
Basically line up your sights so that you don't even/barely even need to move your scope to kill xenia after you kill ouromov. you have to kill ouromov first, headshots only. Just dont let go of the trigger and keep blasting through ouromovs head and then slide a millimeter to xenia. OR check my pinned post for a 100% reliable alternative that may required some skill with the watch laser.

I can't for the life of me kill xenia after shooting ouromov, sometimes I'll get a shot on her, but not enough to kill her before the shutters come down. So frustrating
get a good angle, use you scope and if necessary continue firing after ouromov. aim at the head for both. sometimes if you hurt her enough it'll still give you extra time so continue the mission regardless. also if it doesnt give you extra time, exit the train when the last objective completes, run straight out of the train at the wall, when you hit the wall run left to where the guards are, kill them while running and go back to where they are by the crates. natalya often survives this way. she basically follows the path you take so if you run all the way to the wall from the train and then to the left she is usually far enough away from the explosion.

moving very slowly off of an object or wall by walking against said object at an angle. rolling along the object slowly to be make the movements small.

I hit the dude holding her up and wound Xenia but don’t have a real shot since the train blows up with Natalya in it every time
well.. are there any controls on the switch that act as the same as the C buttons on n64? CLeft & CRight is strafe left/right, CUp and Cdown is look up and look down. They're separate controls from the joystick, i'd use those without even touching the joystick, or if so barely. lf that doesnt work try and scope in maybe?
also you can open the door from the side so they dont see you, then start lasing off the bottom and right side of the floor. You should be able to laser off almost half of it before they even see you, should buy you a bunch of time
gotta kill them both. there's another more reliable way to do the ending but it takes a bit of skill with the watch laser and is harder to explain. l may have explained under another comment in this video though
@@MrTedMcForehead managed to get it in the end yesterday and unlocked the silver pp7 at the same time. I had no problem doing this when I was 9 or 10 but really struggled now still got there in the end. Did the control level 1st time so was pleased with that.

i think my strat would work for the silver gun, but you'd have to greatly accelerate the pace and take more chances/wait a lot less.

thanks, i enjoyed it. i know how annoying it can be to not explain why someone is doing what theyre doing. understanding the fundemental reasons why its being done can explain it better and allow it to be done easily. my old journeyman used to say to not show apprentices how to wire things, but instead show them how it works and with that knowledge they can apply it and know how to wire many different things!

I don’t think I’d ever have finished this level using the switch joycons if it wasn’t for this video as it was so much harder to aim than on n64. Thank you!
Yeah man I had to buy the Bluetooth wireless N64 switch controller due to this and it was like riding a bicycle. Best investment ever being able to play those games on the controller that was meant for them. Was damn near impossible to get used to Goldeneye with the Switch Joy-Cons.
I was so excited when goldeneye came out, but I was so crushed when I found out it’s unplayable using joycons. We have a knock-off classic controller and that wasn’t much better. Finally I got a pro controller and that fixed it. You can’t finesse any movement without it.
You can also remap the switch joycons to play exactly like the N64 controller

Took me like 50 tries as asult and never beat it as kid. I would get to end and get stuck on killing general. Jump out of train went left lost. Went right but she got killed in blast. Found jumping out and going right but shooting backwards helped. Thx man

@mrtedmcforehead .......Can't thank you enough with the many tips to solve these missions 👍 Hadn't done gaming in decades and last played this on Nintendo in the late 90's lol. Recently got the xbox with gamepass and was thrilled to indulge in nostalgia of the one of the most fun and often frustrating games from way back. My buddy and I played it off and on for 3 months trying to get all the missions done on double agent. Can't believe we did it with no tips or tricks like you've shown here. Gotta say, train is one tough mission and for me it was making that darn laser cooperate to cut the floor hatch, lol. I played it on agent or secret agent to practice tracing the line out and gaps between the hatch which helped. Awesome tip about taking your time and taking out Ouromov and Xenia by lining them up. We had no clue back in the day and thought you had to shoot him quick or he'd kill Natalya, lol. Luckily we beat it doing it that way. Also was interesting seeing a top ten list for toughest missions from youtubers. The one that was the hardest for me was Silo, either having next to no health at the end or not even time to get to the elevator. Train is also right up there. Your awesome tips helped greatly to simplify other missions, like depot using the launcher for the drone guns. Bunker was a tough one as well, had no clue about knives to use by grabbing them with the magnet. Also archives just by chopping them and staying stealth worked very well. Have a wonderful holidays and a healthy and happy New Year, you've helped this Canadian so much with all your tips through these missions. 👍

I remember dying a lot on this train level. I played this back when it 1st came out, 100%ed this game & beat all the required times for the cheat codes menu. This was way before youtube vids. So I didn't know about shooting X-ena giving you more time.

Playing this game when I was younger I always died at the last room. I didn’t know I was suppose to laser the floor thing off or it could even do that. I would just run all the way to the back of the train assuming it was something I missed and boom I’m dead. Later on i found on how to beat it but i definitely got stuck here for a bit lol
At the end I usually walk in until Alec says that's close enough, then take a moment to creep into the right hand corner of the room in order to aim at both Ouromov and Xenia. I used the ZMG since it fires faster and managed to hit Xenia after Ouromov. Sometimes I had the worst luck with the last guards outside as I was running.. so now I just quickly turn around and shoot them on my way out
The beginning of this mission was always the most frustrating part. Sometimes the guards would just stand there and do nothing. Sometimes they would shoot the boxes and i would have no health for the rest of the mission. It is all down to RNG and i absolutely hate that.

This is the most non-rng game ever. What you do triggers whether or not they blow up the boxes. It's not random at all.
Just throwing it out there, the 2 guys that spawn behind you that you describe at about 5 min into the video are actually behind the 2nd door to your right when entering that train car. If you kill all the guys out side of the rooms on the right, they'll come out of that door before you go all the way to the other side of the car and you can get em cqc if you wait for em to come out.
yep the door opens basically when you run by it. i just dont like running by it and immediately turning back because you can get caught in the hallway and take shots from behind while killing the guys in the little room.
eventually you fail this mission so many times the rage turns into adrenaline and you go full rambo mode. Thats at least how I passed it.
This was one of the most frustrating levels because you go through the whole train only to fail because rescuing Natalya AND opening the floor in time is near impossible. Too bad there wasn’t a level continue feature
Just done this but didn't get enough bullets into Xenia to kill her, got the ' wait for me..." dialogue but no extra time at the end just the usual 5 seconds . However, once outside just turned left into the dead end where the enemies are and Natalya followed me and just need to take out the guards and stay there until the explosions clear. The laser watch on the guys with double guns towards the end worked great, thanks.
yup... im trying to make a video on the 3 ways to complete the end of this mission. unfortunately l cannot figure out how to set up my old capture card despite using it previously for these videos.
I know this is super old, yet this game still has sentimental value. I find it funny that no one ever knew about the hidden RCP-90 in the beginning of the game

Well, by hook or by crook. I didn't get the additional time for shooting Xenia but still managed to crack Boris' code and escape the train with Natalyia.
It’s the first 2 carriages that do me, the boxes getting blown up and draining health is so infuriating 😂
Now all I have left to do on 00 agent is Jungle, Cradle and Aztec!
How you were able to get Natalya finish cracking Boris password? At the last minute the train explode with Natalya in it
Friendly tip: Turn off music volume in this level. Helps to hear doors opening behind you!
You can also use the laser to shoot the bad guys

Once you run it the first time it gives you a heads up what to do if you screw up the first time which I did they shot Nataliya immediately as I opened the door lol but the second time worked fine thanks for help
Thing that gt me was even before entering the last room Alec said something then added "come in" or welcome in" something like that so i kina panicked and i some how killed the Russian and killed Natalia at the same time.
I can't get past the first set of guards. I tried what you showed here, but they blow up the box right in my face. To make things worse, THEY can see me right through the blown-up box, but I can't see them at all! Any tips to avoid this?

She solves Boris' password with like 5 seconds left and dies every single time and I even wait to laser the locks until she starts typing. Idk what I'm doing wrong
1 - kill ouromov and also kill xenia, it will usually buy you 15 seconds. you'll know this worked because will complete the final objective and there will be like 18 seconds left on the timer.
2 - read my pinned comment, its the most reliable method.
3 - if it doesnt work, exit the train, run straight until you hit the jungle wall, then run along the wall to the left towards the guards, kill them and stay on the wall while moving towards them into a safe area. this often keeps natalya alive.
Go to the left 💀💀💀💀it worked, I paused it when Natalya was safe and watched this
I went towards the guards to finish the mission on n64 back then

It is currently taking me over 7 hours to destroy the locks. That is the hardest part of the entire goldeneye game, I know because I've played it entirely on another cartridge. I am doing it now on a phone. Yes, goldeneye on a phone.

Can’t get the ending right. Either I shoot Ouromov and the shutters come down before I can get Xenia or I shoot Xenia and Ouromov kills Natalya. How is killing both possible?
Basically line up your sights so that you don't even/barely even need to move your scope to kill xenia after you kill ouromov. you have to kill ouromov first, headshots only. Just dont let go of the trigger and keep blasting through ouromovs head and then slide a millimeter to xenia. OR check my pinned post for a 100% reliable alternative that may required some skill with the watch laser.
I get the floor open but she never comes with, even after obj c and d is complete. If I leave after d complete she still dies

Good strategy. But unfortunately, the Switch port doesn't allow you to crouch, and aiming precisely or strafing is poorly omptomised for the Joycons.
I can't for the life of me kill xenia after shooting ouromov, sometimes I'll get a shot on her, but not enough to kill her before the shutters come down. So frustrating
get a good angle, use you scope and if necessary continue firing after ouromov. aim at the head for both. sometimes if you hurt her enough it'll still give you extra time so continue the mission regardless.
also if it doesnt give you extra time, exit the train when the last objective completes, run straight out of the train at the wall, when you hit the wall run left to where the guards are, kill them while running and go back to where they are by the crates. natalya often survives this way. she basically follows the path you take so if you run all the way to the wall from the train and then to the left she is usually far enough away from the explosion.
Please help with ending. `How do I escape?

moving very slowly off of an object or wall by walking against said object at an angle. rolling along the object slowly to be make the movements small.

I hit the dude holding her up and wound Xenia but don’t have a real shot since the train blows up with Natalya in it every time

well.. are there any controls on the switch that act as the same as the C buttons on n64? CLeft & CRight is strafe left/right, CUp and Cdown is look up and look down. They're separate controls from the joystick, i'd use those without even touching the joystick, or if so barely. lf that doesnt work try and scope in maybe?
also you can open the door from the side so they dont see you, then start lasing off the bottom and right side of the floor. You should be able to laser off almost half of it before they even see you, should buy you a bunch of time
Yeah I’ve changed the controls to be more modern. Every time I go to aim and shoot the laser bond just bops up and down by himself which is annoying
Don't know what I'm doing wrong but shoot Russian chap and xenia but don't get the extra time and password gets cracked with 1 second left every time.
gotta kill them both. there's another more reliable way to do the ending but it takes a bit of skill with the watch laser and is harder to explain. l may have explained under another comment in this video though
@@MrTedMcForehead managed to get it in the end yesterday and unlocked the silver pp7 at the same time. I had no problem doing this when I was 9 or 10 but really struggled now still got there in the end. Did the control level 1st time so was pleased with that.

@Ted McForehead oh really i thought it was full proof what worked for me was just shoot ouromov dont shoot the girl but wait for the timer before equipping the laser this leaves me with 4.5 secs guaranteed then go out to the left
