This is awesome man. I was fortunate to have it pretty natural but we have a couple on our channel that definitely struggle with this, and since i didnt really have to learn it, I didnt have any tips on how to help them.
I hear this a lot actually. You’re dealing with two different fears; fear of catching the curb and falling, and fear of slamming from a height. Most people prefer going up verse coming down because subconsciously they think it’ll hurt less. Either way you’re making improvements so be aware of that and keep pushing forward! 👊
What... it’s like you know what I’m needing help with and what I’ve been working on all week 😂. This was a great vid but got a question, when you pop and slide your foot up, does the board stay hugged up to your feet or is there space between you and the board while you’re in the air?? Thanks again!!
Ha, trying to bring out what I get the most request for. Glad it's perfect timing! As for the grap, usually there will be some sort of a gap with the back foot when its initially lifting up. In most cases it's not visible unless you watch an ollie in slow motion. If there's a noticeable large gap without slow motion then you may need to work on your timing with the pop/ jump. The front foot should be stuck to the board the whole way unless purposely trying to ollie north. Hope this helps!
Perfect little details as always! Nice music and good low volume-level while you are talking. Did you already told us something about the pineapple in your logo and I missed it? :)
Awesome feedback on the music and volume levels! I try to keep it reasonable so you don’t miss any details. As for the pineapple I haven’t said anything specific yet, but it does have to do with my 250 subscriber announcement video last week.

Hey Aaron I just did my first 2 stair yesterday so I'm pretty confident and comfortable on my board but my ollie's are a little weak not bad but my flick is off I see alot of people that can point Thier toe to help guide the board forward for a boner ollie, how do I focus on trying to dart my toes down to tweak my ollie, it's all I need
I’m honestly working on it as well! I’ve only been able to do it a few times. Unless you’re super fast, you do need to be able to get enough height to bone out an Ollie and have it look good. You really need to be able to suck up that back foot higher than the front as well. Lastly, I think you’re more or less pushing your front foot out in front of you as opposed to just pouring your toes out. If the toe idea helps you let me know! I’m curious. Might have to make a video on it.
Thank you dude! @@gabrielcaraballo9540 I hear you on this one! Sometimes I do the same thing when I open up my front should and board rotates frontside just a tad. Ha, good question! I was born in Hawaii although didn’t live there long. Pineapple has always been my favorite fruit, and I appreciate a good Hawaiian shirt! That then led to the fun idea of hiding a pineapple in my videos (borrowed idea from the TV show Psych). Goofy I know, but it’s kind of my thing. That about sums it up!
Sounds like you need to work on your mechanics/ timing. Make sure your snapping down quickly and sucking up that back foot just as fast. That way you’re giving the board room to float up and follow your foot. Maybe think of it more as springing off your board as opposed to pushing it into the ground. If your timing is right with your front foot sliding then it’ll come right up with some practice! Takes lots of practice to get it smooth. You can do it!
