Best drive of the day was on 18 after the nightmare of 17. That tee shot took some guts and quite a few practice swings to sort out the swingpath in the right direction.
What a lovely course (and an impressive score!). It must be evil when the wind blows however! Yet another very enjoyable video! I'm enjoying catching up on your older stuff as it's really good to watch the relaxed rhythm that you strike the ball with (something that I still need to learn!!!). Far more useful to me than a lot of the "teaching" videos, that talk about launch angles and spin rates etc , on You Tube!
I had good rhythm on that day which surprised me but it means I can hit fairway and I know where the clubhead is. If I'm trying to hit too hard then I make a mess of it. The wind wasn't bad at all and the course is quite wide. I can only imagine the nightmare when it really blows off the sea. Those how to fix your slice videos get lots of views but they are b/s. You can't teach yourself swing mechanics by watching someone else, got to get a lesson.
It was a lot easier without the wind. The course was quite wide and I guess it would need to be when that wind is blowing hard. Greens were a real good speed for me.
It's a great course. Obviously harder from the competition tees and when the wind blows. But the views were really nice. The fairways are wide enough to accommodate the wind but without it you can go low. I really enjoyed my round there.
It was good being only 1 club of wind. I expect on a windy day it's a nightmare which is why the course is fairly wide open. Some of the back shelfs on the greens looked a bit scary so was lucky to have friendly pins too.
Hi Steve, I take whatever I can find on the club website for overheads. Sometimes I get lucky. I drove it very well, yesterday I hit 3 ugly hooks which cost me 2 doubles and a single. Some days you have it and some days you don't. But I do concentrate more when I have the camera out.
those views again on 11 wow!! Youre totally right about those bunker shots, you got to commit to the fact that you end up long and you did great! Great round in general and a beautiful birdie putt on 14 !
Gorgeous course. Enjoyed the Vlog. It refreshing to see different courses around the UK. You played a hole and mentioned low punch trying to take spin off (I think?) None of this even enters my head when I play. I guess its all about knowledge, experience and knowing your game. Looking forward to the next one 😀
I drove it well that day bar the 17th. On 16 I was in the rough with 60 yards and a backstop behind the flag. I took the SW and I drive down with a low follow through to get a lower flight with some apin on it. It would have worked better from the fairway. It's a shot I have learned to play.
Thankyou Paul, that's really kind. I got lucky with Cardigan, I played it at a time when my game peaked and the wind was about 1 club. I imagine it would be a brute when windy and i git it on a day when the flags were very friendly, I could see that on the back shelves it would be very difficult. Lock down has thrown a spanner in the works of the clothing. I've managed to choose a quarter zip jumper/sweatshirt and I've asked the guys to pick a colour. I'll get those all ordered and then we will test them to see how they stand up. Then I've got to work out how to sell them and that people can pay securely. I'm in the dark here out of my depth. But I will get there. June at the soonest. Cheers.
The Hairy Golfer thanks for the reply, wind ,rain or sun I just love being there with the views, I usually play on my own with wife in the van so I’m normally chatting to myself like your video🤣.I will defiantly buy one of your tops . All the best Paul
@@pauljones8988 Thanks Paul, we are off to Cornwall this year so a few different courses to play. I talk to myself all the time - usually derogatory about my golf! LOL
The Hairy Golfer There is a course north of Newquay called St eval that looks nice , my great uncle was on coastal command bombers during the war there so I’ve driven past it a few times and one you might consider.
@@pauljones8988 I'm up near Bude so it's a possibility. Stayed at St Mawgan a few times with the Nimrods going out at 5:30am. Long time ago that was! I'll go have a look at St. Eval.
I'm loving the views and the layout of this course! Looks so peaceful out there and seemed like you had the whole course to yourself. Great bunker play on the short sided downhiller. Way to be putt aggressively on the 14th hole! Great decision on the club selection of the downhill par 3. Those deep bunkers down there don't look fun. Solid golf despite the hick up double!
Great views but I did catch up with a 4 ball and had to wait around over the last 5 holes. The putt on 14 was really nice. The drive on 18 was good after 2 really bad ones on 17, that cost me a ball in the deep stuff.
That’s great course, if your looking for another great course near to you, you need to try out Penrhos Park golf club, it’s on a mountain so take a golf buggy it will help. Beautiful arranged holes, 17th is a great one, 3rd and 4th has a massive dog leg, big drawing hole. Check the place out, highly recommend it
If we ever get back to the Cardigan area I will look that one up. I've just looked at the accommodation and it isn't cheap! Haven't made a decision on next year yet but it might be South Devon.
@@davideangelocarnovale1595 The views won't be so nice with horizontal rain. The 14th hole is the hardest I think. I got lucky with the flags being on the lower level. If the flags are perched on the back shelf I would have been 5 shots worse with ease.
I loved watching that and have subscribed. Can you let me know how you film your shots - do you use your mobile and a tripod? And how do you add the line that shows the directions of your shot? Many thanks :P
Hello Yuki and thanks for watching the channel. I started using my mobile and a simple tripod. I am now using a second hand canon m50. The shot tracer is a very simple and cheap app on the app store. You can get Android and Apple versions. It can be a little bit tempremental but for very little money it is worth the times when it doesn't work very well. Now I record on the M50 and put it on the laptop, then to the phone for shot tracer and then back to the laptop. I use Corel Video Studio for editing and the music is available all over the internet or youtube for free. Good Luck!
@@thehairygolfer that is great - thank you so much - I think that all the tech is a bit beyond me - i will certainly be watching more of you reviews they are cool !

You are playing well. Great course for holiday golf with few obstacles. Nice vlog. Thanks.
I can imagine it's a beast when the wind is blowing off the sea. So with only 1 club of wind Colin I chose my day well.
Great round! Beautiful course!

Beautiful course and great playing! Tough go on 17, but it happens to all of us
Friday evening I started with 2 hooks. It really does happen but I don't have the camera with me every day. I seem to concentrate more when I have to.
That view from the 11th is as impressive as the sea views. Would wanna be up there when it’s howling though!
The wind must be the defence of the course. I chose my day well.
Well done simon good score
Spectacular views great looking golf course .Great camera work too mate
Great views, glad I avoided the wind or I could have been 10 shots worse.

Hitting the ball nice and straight Simon. Really like the hole highlighted in the bottom corner, nice touch.

14 was real nice, a tight drive and it was stroke 1. Funny how sometimes we play the hard holes well and the easy ones so badly. But that's golf.

Despite the one hole/swing, that was a really good round 💯🔥
Best shot was the drive on 18 after making a mess of 17. The par 5's were all reachable so that flatters the score a bit.
Love you videos
