Unfortunately far too many doctors diagnose young women as being anxious or hypochondriacs and send them home.

This is so true! I was brushed off for the past 9 years and was told it was arthritis...I knew it wasn't.. this past year I had so many new symptoms happening. My family dr put me on Wellbutrin 😒. He sent me to an orthopedic surgeon... it was that Dr who said the symptoms your having sound like ms.. has your family dr never suggested that? I said no.. it never even crossed my mind. So I went back to my family dr... told him that the orthopedic dr couldn't help me and suggested seeing a neurologist... he then said none of my symptoms were MS. Well after a ton of tests, emg to rule out other conditions, 3 MRI'S, being sent to an Endocrinologist...colonoscopy, spinal tap..I was diagnosed Thursday with MS. I also was brushed off about having double and blurry vision. I'm so angry. For 9 years I suffered. I feel like I lost my 30's. I could have been getting help this whole time. Guess who made an appt to see her regular dr in a few days? Me 😅 he's going to get an ear full.

What do you mean “survivor?” Isn’t it a lifelong condition?

It is the strangest of illnesses!
I was dx at the age of 28…
10 years after my dx my Mum was diagnosed with MS too! At that time my Mum was 47 years old!
MS is not hereditary but it IS FAMILIAR! 😮
