      My word for the year is Refresh. Refresh what my mind takes in. TV off and read an actual book. Refresh my hair and get an actual style after 2 years if 'COVID ' hair.....long and stringy. Refresh my flower gardens. There's more but these are the main ones.

      My word for the year: Complete. This references my plan to complete my big purge and complete redecorating living room and bedroom. I’m a procrastinator and have done little to finish up my started work. Complete is also a nod to my being complete and that things won’t complete me. You’re so inspiring Diane.

      I am revisiting the 31 baby steps 2020 with you tonight to see if I am missing any of the steps . So as I was winding down for the day I shined my sink after tidying my kitchen. I also did a 2 minute hotspot which was my dining table. A 7 5minute room rescue was a quick vacuum of the carpet rugs and a quick mop of the tiles in the kitchen area and downstairs loo. The only decluttering I did was some paper clutter and receipts which only took 5 minutes. I also put out my clothes for tomorrow and put my clean laundry on the clothes airer as they weren't completely dry and as it was 10 30 PM , I thought I had better get to bed. Tomorrow when I get chance after lunch I will go through more of your videos to see if I can improve my routines. I learnt that I really need to work on decluttering clothes that I haven,t worn for years if I am honest and also that I need to declutter emails regularly. Have a great weekend .

    Good morning Diane…I am entering my 3rd year of following you, practicing zone cleaning and my daily routines. I just experienced my first holiday season with virtually no negative stress. For 2022, I will continue my daily 3 mile walk with my furry friends and most times with my neighbor 🦮Also I’m enjoying my new reading time everyday. I use to put it off until I had time ☹️ now I make time. My house looks the best ever, I communicate more with friends(Covid permitting), but at least I can talk to them. I’ve always been a happy person, but now even more so. My word for this year…intentional. I don’t want to do things on auto pilot. I am conscious of what I’m doing to enjoy all the small details of life.💜🌸🌷🐾 thank you for all your knowledge and encouragement 🚲

    What I love about fly lady is the freedom from constant decision making; does this need to be cleaned, does that need to be vacuumed, should I dust those again, do I feel like doing it today or can I leave it until tomorrow? It’s a constant all day every day activity. Decision fatigue is real and routines provide blessed relief. Thanks Diane.

    My word for 2022 is VIBRANT. After retiring and a few years of caretaking loved ones I'm really retired. I'm putting joy, exploring what I like doing for fun, and loving my life front and center.
    Taking care of my health with putting my physical therapy and working out into my morning/evening routine and decluttering/flying is helping me prepare for welcoming friends into my home more regularly.
    Happy Monday!

    I actually have four words for this year….Sabbath, simplicity, strength and study. They all correspond to the intensions I have for the year. I am not setting goals, because I don’t want to reach an end per se, but change my habits and behaviors.

    My word for the year is HOME. I have toddlers and am determined to bring them up in a cozy, clean home like I had growing up. Unfortunately homemaking doesn't come naturally to me but I followed along with your Flylady 31 baby steps and I'm working my way up to the full flylady system. My routines are pretty consistent now. I feel very hopeful, and this is an area where I have really struggled.

    • @missmayflower
      @missmayflower 2 роки тому +4

      So happy for you! That’s such a worthwhile goal. Stick with it. I found those 31 baby steps with Diane to be life changing. I love the ideas she has for those down days, like just setting your alarm and doing five or ten minutes every hour, on the hour. When I get really off track, I just return to shining my sink. It’s like base camp. But never forget that childhood goes by so fast, so spending time playing or cuddling with toddlers always comes before cleaning.

    While your post was wending it's way to my mail box I was doing my #34 daily swim in a row. This am the water was very unfriendly, high winds and 48° here in Florida. I was the only one that showed up today. I spent a good deal of time looking at the blue sky and the white puffy clouds. I was picturing you on you bike, bundled up and zipping along to the North Sea. I did my hour, felt terrific. My BP was perfect after my swim... Here you are! Thank you💙

    My word for 2022 is REBUILD. The pandemic really knocked me onto my bahookie in a lot of different ways. I haven't been sick thankfully but my business, my health and fitness, and my self confidence have all taken a hit. I have been trying to schedule in my personal activities into my calendar more often and it does help. The nature of my work has some unpredictability to it, one day doesn't look like the next, so routines need to be flexible. My self care continues to be at the bottom of the priority list even if I am taking better care of myself. It's a process!

Some days I just sort my laundry and other days I do load from start to finish. Doing it this way I rarely have to do two loads in one day and if I do I usually leave the last load in the dryer so when I go down to the basement to sort, I bring it upstairs and fold and put away.

    Same for me, Diane, re. Laundry. Empty nester status just happened for us as for you. I do just as you do even though DD21 is now in her own apartment ( plus, we stopped using a clothes dryer in November 2020 which is unheard of here! ) and have continued on with my LOL and LOL tasks. Routines are addictive in a good way! Without them, I would suffer from major brain fog. I started with you on this journey in 2017, go us!!
    This year, I have decided to cut out meat in my diet which is allowing me to eat more vegetables and beans and be healthier!

    Thank you for the great tips. We really do get to our goals if we remember to act on them lol My goal is to get more movement this year. So everyday, the kids and I will get outside to play, even if it's for just 10 minutes. Love the vest! I think I will ask for one for next Christmas 🎄 😉

    Thank you Diane, you are always so inspiring. I started running a couple of years ago (couch to 5k) but self limited it to 5k. I am now doing a 5k to 10k 3 month training program with yoga as warm ups/downs. Having a timetable of runs for the 3 months is keeping me on track - I would not be able to do it without an action plan!

    A really good video Diane. You are so encouraging to us all and introduce products and topics that we might not of seen or thought about before. Sometimes you give us a reminder to stop procrastinating and just make things a part of our routines. I would never have learnt how to do the flylady system and kept at it if I hadn't found your videos all those years ago. I was one of those people who really benefited from your videos that showed you in action demonstrating how easy a weekly homeblessing hour could be and how important morning and evening routines are.
    I found your videos on the babysteps and off I flew becoming a flybaby with great enthusiasm because of your lovely personality. Once again thanks so much. By the way you match your tulips so well on camera. Lol
    It,s very cold here for Cyprus but I enjoyed a swim on Saturday warming up in the car afterwards. I don't have a heated vest but I am watching this from my heated bed this morning and must get up and start my day. Have a wonderful week

    My intention this year is to tone and firm areas that are victims of gravity. For me that means doing a short, targeted workout (Lucy Wyndham-Read has a huge selection of workouts on UA-cam) every evening. At 63 I have to admit I'm tired of housework, but I do keep my home clean and tidy without doing the FlyLady system. I'm also keeping a book by my bed to encourage me to read a bit each night which is another intention. Thank you for another uplifting video, Diane!

    Hi, Diane, thanks for sharing! Interesting vest, incredible, all these new inventions! My husband just got an electric handwarmer for his birthday, because he uses to play guitar outside… he was very amazed! I prepared myself as an empty nester some dozens of years ago and let the children wash their own clothes, to help them getting a routine, too. Very helpful for both sides! Add-on plans: I’ve to think about that, because my will power sometimes has a hole… Love, Monika, still on 4 k a day❣

    Hi Diane! Your video is just what I needed! I was confused about the laundry in the Fly Lady System, because I couldn’t see how to do it every day. It is just my husband and I, at home, and some days, there would not be enough clothes to do a load of laundry. Your explanations today helped me. In your Good Morning Routine, I saw that you mentioned Load of Laundry twice. Does this mean that you do 2 loads of laundry, or does this mean that there are the 2 steps: doing the laundry, and then hanging it?
    Thank you also for your encouraging us to DO the things we have to do, simply. I procrastinate and do mostly what I like, as many of us do, I know! Maybe for me the word for this year could be DO IT! I had already chosen another expression for this year, and that is “starting anew”. With these 2 motivational ideas in mind, I want 2022 to be the year where I finally get up from my “bahookie” and do something instead of dreaming about it!
    Thanks again for your cheerful encouragement! I’m so grateful for having found your channel! Have a great day! 💕😍✨

    Thanks Diane, you always put a smile on my face! Thanks also for your wisdom that we have to plan our goals more concisely 🤪 (someone once said they have an appointment to clean their toilet every other day- whatever helps!!)
    I was thinking exactly that last year on my birthday. I turn 50 next year and I plan to join the „Ossi loop“ which is basically a run that goes over 6 days. I never enjoyed running in high school, but loved it when I started slowly over a longer period of time. I stopped a few years back (probably when homeschooling started and I upped my workload as a nurse).
    My goal after that (between 50 and 60 😅) is to get a PPL (private pilot license).
    Apart from that I want to reorganise my home- last year I finished a 1 1/2 year course🤓 that used up all my spare time…
    Thanks for cheering us on and helping us to reach our goals! 😘🤩

    Hi! I’m a new subscriber. I love your enthusiasm! I need some of that. I don’t have a word or goals. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I’ve been doing the Fly Lady Daily Routines and Weekly Home Blessing for about a year and a half now (thanks to Steph @The Secret Slob channel) I was pregnant when I first started and needless to say I never got on to Zone cleaning. You are GENIUS and I love how you simplify our lives. Thank you for sharing. One question: How do you keep your bath towels fluffy if you hang them to dry. We have hard water which translates to crispy bath towels if not dried in the dryer.

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  Рік тому +1

      I like our towels to be crispy! LOL! But you can add one cup of basic white vinegar to the final rinse in the washing machine to soften them (you won't smell the vinegar).

    My granddaughter was too young to get immunized and now she has it. i am so distracted, I work a little and take a break, then work a little again. Large warm wear drop off at the Homeless Center, since severe cold front is coming in. Many have frost bite. Did get my gym, Monday power hour, and zone done. Going to make myself fix dinner. I already exercise well but plan to still add more. Walking and Bootcamp is what I do. I do wonder how you swim in the ice water without getting cramps? I am Canadian and I live near Lake Huron, that is ice right now. I also plan to read more. Eat healthy. Drink water and get rest. And have some fun.
