Sephiroth was originally the hardest boss fight in the original Kingdom Hearts II on PS2. As far as I'm concerned you haven't beaten the game until you beat Sephiroth. 👽

"I wonder if it won't change its mind, once I defeat you." That line gave me chills Sephiroth truly has this aura about him that so few can match. Only one's I can think of that come close is Ganondorf, Darth Vader, and Voldemort.
Of course he has, it's sephiroth, the embodiment of darkness; even in the smash ultimate reveal trailer he IS overwhelming. Truly the most dangerous villain ever!

Congrats on beating Sephiroth, my dude! I remember spending hours with this boss and nearly breaking my controller over it as a kid. Probably not the toughest boss in the game(That honor belongs to Lingering Will), but still insanely difficult! Also, Tidus's laugh when Cloud was approaching Sephiroth just killed me. XD
I remember this fight giving me so much trouble back in the original release but I was finally able to beat him after a couple dozen attempts. KH1 Sephiroth however took me SO much longer to beat, literally didn't get the W over him until I came back to the game many years later.
Man even as a kid I made it my mission to figure him out before UA-cam existed and clips of speed runs were readily available. Magic, magic and more magic in the form of MP increasing items. Aeroga and counter guard combo are disgusting against him. Strike Raid for the Sin Harvest and you give that fallen angel a much needed haircut. You should be a pro at guarding after Ice Titan. I feel the game prepares you for Sephiroth. With Kurt Zisa, Phantom and Ice Titan pushing your limits. Idk about you but I struggled more with Zisa then Sephiroth. But I thought he was necessary to open up Hollow Bastion again the first time I played . Fighting him with just Aerora turned me into a frickin master. I'll give you that it's more satisfying to defeat Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth. Cause KH2 Sephiroth doesn't really feel like part of the story whereas everything about Olympus Coliseum felt right in Kingdom Hearts. Like the Hades Cup having all of your Final Fantasy friends then building up to Titans and finally Sephiroth.
Sephiroth on my first KH1 proud mode play almost took me 1 try but I got clipped. I beat him the second time though. This fight on critical on the other hand took me 45 minutes LOL
The entire time, I was screaming "literally just use one spell!" But you still did fantastic. Sephiroth is definitely not the hardest secret boss, but he sure as Hell puts up a good fight
A Unique thing about Fenrir: If you take off all your Combo Plus skill and put on all the Negative Combo skills, then with Fenrir equipped, *you will only do combo finishers for every attack.*
Hey DeeBee it seems that you do a lot more damage when doing air combos because you have an ability equipped where you do damage the more hits your combos are doing so maybe do more of that when facing LW again!

Oh man, you got screwed over a bit by having Berserk Charge on there. Thankfully it didn't matter because you still won in the end, but once you got him down to 1HP Berserk Charge was keeping you from doing a finisher. It really would've behooved this game to have better explanations of what its skills do.
I mean it tells you exactly what berserk charge does tho lol the real issue is people slap on all skills once they have an overflowing amount of ap to spare and the game never tells you hey maybe some things just work better in certain situations, you know? Like I guess you could say they learned their lesson in a sense cus there’s less abilities in other games but eh, I see that as more of a con than a pro personally
It was the ending that made me laugh, Berserk Charge was stopping you from finishing that fight. My heart. I was like if he dies with him at 1 HP I'd cry for you xD
You should take Beserk Charge off ASAP. It makes you have infinite combos without finishers, making it impossible to land the finishing blow on bosses.

Fenrir is useful because if you equip all combo minus abilities, you can basically perform a finisher of your choice with the push of a button. It is great how they were aware people might do this so they baked all the mechanics in for you to do it.
It’s nice that they used the ff7 characters voice actors for the English version of advent children, even if it did include the infamous “dilly dally shilly shally” line

New to finding your videos but man seeing this is so nostalgic and I still remember being a kid and being so excited for this fight and to see my main man Cloud in action and my personal favourite keyblade was one heck of a reward after that hard fight at the time. Also small little random facts the Keyblade Fenrir has the Wolf symbol that Cloud wears on his shoulder as the keychain. Fenrir is also the name of Clouds motorbike in Advent Children, and of course Fenrir is a giant wolf from mythology. Just thought I mention those for fun. I remember on ps2 loosing and loosing with my level 70s sora . I died like 20 plus times . Then I grew older and played the remaster on PS4 and grind till level 99 with ultima weapon keyblade and yes way easier even tho I did died a few times still . Very challenging boss . But the secret boss on this remaster (terra ) he was very hard even when maxed out.I’m so glad people are playing this game still .

I beat Sephiroth on Critical lvl 72, what made me beat him ? Literally equipping a longer Keyblade so that he doesn't escape the air combo you put him in after the initial ground combo. I used the Guardian Soul keyblade.
Olympus Colosseum from the first game was only canon up through the Hercules Cup at this point in the series. That was later retconned in 3 through a narrator mentioning that Sora has fought the Rock and Ice Titans before, but even so the Platinum Match remains non-canon. So no, Kingdom Hearts II Sora hasn't fought Sephiroth before.

I freaking one shotted Sephiroth with Reflectaga back in the Original ps2 version. I believe i was level 85 or 90. I think they nerfed it in final mix. Haven't had a chance to try it again.

I like how here it is implied that Seph knows about the keyblade, SOMEHOW, and more or less how it works. And Tifa giving you the keys to her appartment, lol. So the Fenrir is supposed to be more of a modern key, like those armored doors nowadays that have special keys, or a key card. Something among those lines. The name Fenrir is taken from Cloud's motorbike in FF VII, which is also called Fenrir.
Seeing people share their stories of the KH2 Sephiroth fight got me a bit nostalgic. Back during my first time playing through KH2 on the PS2 I had a hell of a time against him, because in my infinite wisdom as a wee lad.... I did not invest in levelling up any of the drive forms which I didn't even put together they gave me abilities while outside of the drive forms and I didn't even bother trying to get the Ultima Weapon. So I had no counter to heartless angel, my best keyblade was Oblivion and I believe I was only around level 70. It took me months to beat him because I was a hard headed idiot that just kept going at him without leaving to grind.
The moment Sephiroth’s theme started blaring, Donald and Goofy dipped the fuck out. Honestly, you can’t blame them.

So the Fenrir is supposed to be more of a modern key, like those armored doors nowadays that have special keys, or a key card. Something among those lines. The name Fenrir is taken from Cloud's motorbike in FF VII, which is also called Fenrir.

For someone so in love with FF7’s universe, I’m disappointed he doesn’t know the name Fenrir, and what that Keyblade represents.
Fenrir is a keyblade replica of Cloud’s sword.

Seeing people share their stories of the KH2 Sephiroth fight got me a bit nostalgic. Back during my first time playing through KH2 on the PS2 I had a hell of a time against him, because in my infinite wisdom as a wee lad.... I did not invest in levelling up any of the drive forms which I didn't even put together they gave me abilities while outside of the drive forms and I didn't even bother trying to get the Ultima Weapon. So I had no counter to heartless angel, my best keyblade was Oblivion and I believe I was only around level 70. It took me months to beat him because I was a hard headed idiot that just kept going at him without leaving to grind.
