Making a livingston Inline Spinner Lure

- This fishing lure was inspired by a one paragraph in A.D. Livingston's book . Luremaking. He describes but doesn't show soldering a spinner blade onto a leader sleeve. So i thought i would give it a go and after bit of faffing around it worked rather well. The advantage of this over using a clevis is the blade starts turning very easily unlike many of the top brand standard inline spinners. The only real downside is it losses a bit of its rumble or heavy vibration in the water, but this can be fixed by experimenting with bend the blade, pliers work best unless you have spoon bending powers.
The soldering can be a bit tricky, and the blades and sleeve work best if they have any coatings removed, a file or sandpaper works well enough. Flux helps wet out metal and allow for a solid bond. I used a kitchen blow lamp, but heavy soldering iron will work well on thin blades.

couple of bead, either brass or plastic

есть ещё одна вещь - угол отклонения должен меняться в зависимости от скорости проводка...
и ещё, угол можно было просто загнуть плоскогубцами, и не -парить- паять себе мозг

Good... tried the fixed blade years ago.. it worked but getting snagged more times than the hinged swivel arm.. nice for open clean water.. 👍👍

I had one just like that ABU Droppin.The only thing it ever caught was me and weeds .I'm telling the truth It's not negativity.We can only spend so much time before admitting what I've just said .So I gave it to a young lad along with a few more lures to get him going at fishing .But also showed him what really catches wild Irish brown trout.

Go ahead and put the highest quality swivel you have on the wire as the line tie to help with twist
I am not sure what I am meant to take from this, I was testing a lot of lures in that session and having snap made it easier to change between them

A bit like a Martin spoon, the blade should start rotating as soon as it's in the water
yes it is similar but the martin style spinners rely partly on the small part of the blade to help kick it up into a spin, this one is in a fixed position and tend to spin up with very little forward movement, cheers

i normally use a clevis, but this was an experiment, the clevis also has it down sides, the blades even on meps don't start without a thump and they produce a fair amount of line twist, they also don't run well at low speeds, this method tackles those issues but it does not produce the same random vibration, win some lose some

Попадает во втулку немного песка и....конец вращения... Уже не раз проверено. Лучше потрудиться над лепестком и он будет запускаться без отбойника на любой глубине и любой скорости проводки.

@@serjones3365 , у меня не залипал никогда-доводил до ума прямо на реке с молотком, наковальней, закруглённым на конце добойником и тремя видами стальных ложек, а так же имел с собою и надфили. То есть, подходить к этому делу нужно конкретно, основательно и с знанием мелочей. Вертушки изготавливал много лет, но когда начал разрабатывать новые колеблющиеся блесны и воблеры, то убедился, что вертушек для меня вполне хватит и малых размеров (в более крупных, очень трудно добиться, чтобы не крутило леску-то есть, блесны хорошие и вполне рабочие, но через несколько рыбалок, леску придётся выбросить). За то, удалось успешно разработать новые колеблющиеся блесны и воблеры и воблеры, на которые много лет ловил ночью. А гораздо позднее, перешёл на стримеры и мормышки, что расширило количество видов рыбы для ловли спиннингом, так как успешно ловил плотву, ельца, подлещика, язя, голавля и даже сом как-то оторвал, хотя снасть была рассчитана с упором на довольно крупного голавля, но рыбина около шести-семи килограммов возле затопленных кустов, просто не оставила мне шансов.

it does psin uniformly but this can be altered by using a wider diameter brass sleeve, the sun is also behind the lure, it flashes like any other spinner, you only have five or six seconds of footage
Line twist making sob! You can see the whole swivel rolling the entire time
you watched about ten seconds, i have fished with this for hours and not really noticed any line twist unless it gets eaten by the weed monsters

i can buy inline spinners anywhere including online, the point was to make a fixed blade spinner because they start faster and also make less line twist

а чтобы не было сходов, на любой вертушке - лепесток не должен закрывать тройник

Livingston is the name of a global lure company. They specialize in lures that have computer chips and speakers in them. This has ZERO to do with Livingston. And be happy about that cause they kind of suck.
These type of lures were made by another Livingston company before I was born and the computer chip was invented
