- Must watch before you purchase fruit trees. In this video I talk about the important things you need to look for on the trees you are about to buy at the nursery. I show examples of the good and the bad. Root flare, reverse taper, graft union, cankers, fungus, insects, branch structure. Not all fruit trees at the nursery are worth buying. I recently went to the local nursery and bought 5 more fruit trees. A Winesap apple, Arkansas Black apple, Galaxy Donut white peach, Elberta peach tree, and a Fuyu persimmon. There are going to be a lot of different Winesaps to chose from when you get to the section of Winesaps. Do not just grab the first one you see. In this video @UncleClaysOrchard goes over a list of different problems you should be looking at before you buy. The last thing we want to do is bring back one of these problems and spread it all around the orchard here in southeaster Pennsylvania zone 7a. #fruit #gardening #garden #orchard #fruittrees #nursery #apples #appletrees #peaches #peach #peachtree #persimmon

Excellent video 🌱 🪴
seriously thank you
Do you mind sharing the size nursery pot you have the ruby red grapefruit in? Thx! Also, do you have a video discussing fire blight or the "armored scale" you mentioned later on? I've never heard of the latter.
it’s either 15 or 20 gallon and yes i have a video on fire blight
@@UncleClaysOrchard Thanks for the pot info and I'll look for the fire blight video. Thx 😊
good info but you need to relax a little bit during the video. 😅
good feed back ! thanks
@@UncleClaysOrchard I just discovered your channel today. I'm only a third through this video, so you may go "buck wild" later on (😅), but I think your vibe/energy is totally fine. To each his/her own, of course, but if you're being yourself, I think you should stick with it. Thanks for the info in this video. Esp the "reverse taper"--I'm new to growing fruit trees and need to learn as much as I can.
