Some VERY IMPORTANT info I did not include in the review is the headphones! I had no issues with using regular headphones with AUBIKA whatsoever, but it seems like the widely positioned arms on the KIWI strap won't allow you to wear regular headphones! 🙄🙄 disappointed!
Instead of flipping the headset up with the kiwi one, you can keep the headset position and flip the back part to the top of your head. It's comfortable and it doesn't mess up with your hair if you don't tight the top black cushion adjustment.
Thanks for this review! I tested both the BoboVR M2 and the Kiwi, and the Kiwi was the most comfortable for me.
I don’t understand why Oculus doesn’t just cast the arms around a thin strip of metal. That is literally all it needs to be more durable.
Another good elite style strap that I think is well worth the money is the Soarking elite strap. I believe it costs around the same as the aubika and it has a weighted back end witch helps with taking off some of the pressure from the front of the headset.

So many people glamorize Bobo VR head strap and it's honestly one of my least favorite ones. I love the idea of halo straps but BoboVR did not do a good job of it, in my opinion. Thanks for this review!
Thanks Jasmine! I like how people are in two camps in terms of headstraps - halo and traditional. I actually enjoy the bobovr strap quite a bit, but some people don’t find them comfortable. It’s great to have options!
I bought both headstraps myself before finding this video and I 100% agree with the points you made. I personally really value the feeling of a headstrap feeling secure on my face and so I really can't use the flip up feature of the Kiwi to it's fullest... Especially since I wear wide glasses, meaning I either have to have it super loose, or deal with the headset ripping my glasses off my face whenever I flip it up. I don't find the lack of the feature to be too bad tho, normally if I need to check something I just look through the little light hole below the nose lol.
Besides these points alone, I found myself liking the Aubika much better because of it being slightly heavier so the headset feels totally balanced. The battery just feels like a bonus! Initially I thought I wouldn't like it as much as the kiwi because of the lack of memory foam for the back of the head, but I found it didn't really make a difference in comfort like I thought it would. If anything the silicone-like texture is better because it prevents the strap from feeling like it's going to slip off my head (I have long hair so sometimes I have to worry about straps not grabbing on securly enough). Another minor detail that I really like is that the Aubika's dial is much quieter than the Kiwi's.
Something I feel that I should also mention is that before this I'd been using a $10 head strap from destek (but unfortunately it's $50 if you don't have Amazon prime), and I feel that it was actually better than the Kiwi; it doesn't have the flip-up feature, but it has an additional top memory foam-padded strap that you can use to switch between elite-styled and halo-styled. I loved this one but wanted to explore all my options, and honestly I'm going to keep it around for a backup in case anything happens to the Aubika and I'm going to return my Kiwi head strap.
So, TL;DR: If you happen to have Amazon Prime and aren't sure what to get, I highly recommend the head strap from destek (the one that comes with built-in headphones) since it's only $10 and is just as good, or if you're like me, even better than the Kiwi one.
I'm waiting for the Bobovr M2 Pro to be available on Amazon but I like that these 'elite' style straps fit in the small travel case, for travelling..
I also want to buy a battery-carrying headset. I compared the bobovr m2 pro and aubika's superior headset with battery. I chose aubika because the battery is built-in and looks more balanced.

I found the info really useful, the standard strap is useless, I purchased the Aubika strap & its a bargain compared to the elite strap & works just as well.
Another good thing about the Kiwi Strap is that it is easier to put on if you use the bending technique it has.
Which Silicone mask are you using? I brought the kiwi but it doesn’t fit :(

I already have the Official Elite Strap with battery, but I would go for the BoboVR Strap if I were buying one now. BTW like most of the official straps mine broke after about 6 months but "Meta" quickly replaced it. Always love your vids!
I'm on my 3rd elite strap, they keep sending me the crappy early models without a serial code, they did promptly replace it, but it is annoying.
they will keep replacing it no matter what but it's just a hassle 🙄 I also really love BOBOVR M2 Pro, don't think I will switch to a different strap any time soon. Thanks for your kind words!

How well can you wear a normal pair of headphones with both of these straps? (I'm using a Sony 1000 xm4 btw.) Does the strap get in the way?
A great question! I totally should have included this in the video. No issues with using regular headphones with AUBIKA whatsoever, but it seems like the widely positioned arms on the KIWI strap won't allow you to wear headphones! hey not sure if you got yours yet but the aubika makes the strap with a built in battery I saw it on amazon

i actually got my kiwi headstrap for $35 from their website.
The kiwi strap is great compared to the oculus elite strap(mine cracked in half after 3 months on very light use) also the Oculus elite strap caused neck and pain in the back of my head.
the kiwi elite strap causes no issues and the top strap the way i have it set on my head act as a weight distributor.
I have the bobovr m2(non pro) but the back of the strap kept sliding up and I could not get it tight enough so when i played games the headset would move and take me out of the sweet spot eye range,
I bought the Powerextra Camera backpack mentioned in this video back in march due to your case comparison video so i would for sure recommend this as well.
yes kiwi sucks, but btw the elastic thing on aubika seems to snap off to most buyers on amazon, think you can make slits on the sides of it and insert it back in?

Its great with all those headstraps. But no one is making headstrap with headphones like the htc deluxe audio strap.

Do not buy the aubika strap, it does not work as it says. It does show charge indication inside the headset and the leds up on the battery bank, but it has insufficient wattage and amperage to be used like the oem elite battery strap from oculus. Total was of money. Works great as a elite strap without battery but not with one. If u want a elite strap without battery alternative stick to kiwi.
