I have had the kiwi battery one for a few months and yes it does as you say, once headset and battery strap is charged I unplug the battery strap from the headset if I am not using it. Or I come back a day or so later and all is dead. I don’t have the kiwi stand I just use the original quest 3 charger. I have moved over to the bobovr pro s3 with battery it’s ok but find it a bit heavy. If kiwi fixed the battery issue on the kiwi battery headstrap I would go back to it
They emailed me after this video came out and said they're working on something like that. Although idk if that means a whole new strap or a way to solve that.
Yeah, I hope Kiwi fixes the issue! The BoboVR Pro S3 is super 'clunky' feeling on the head. I do think it is comfortable, but just not a fan of halo-style straps in general.
I have the Kiwi with the battery. I LOVE it. It is so comfortable and the battery life is really good. The best thing is, no audio interference from a hot swappable battery connection. Now, about the "battery drain" issue. I think the Meta bleeds off the battery when it's off and still plugged into the Kiwi, not vice versa. I always unplug mine when I am done and it does not seem to drop. I haven't done anything scientific to verify this, just happen to notice the battery on the kiwi doesn't seem to change when it's sitting unplugged from the Quest 3.
I have the kiwi with battery strap and absolutely love it! I've never noticed the battery drain but only because I'm a bit pedantic when it comes to leaving things plugged in once charged, so I'm constantly removing the kiwi battery from the quest and then charging the strap so both are full. Interesting problem about the draining that I'll have to stay aware of. Appreciate your channel!
Got my BOBO battery and a spare awhile back and it does a fantastic job. I think it will be hard to beat for any headset / battery combo. Thanks for all you do!
you just have to unplug it when not in use, it should have a power button or something on the battery strap but doesnt. I only kept it because i like to lay flat on my back to in the bed on the vr, but it hurts with the vr is weighing down on your face, and gives me headaches, but this strap is rigid so it pushes the headsets off of my face while laying down, game changer if you have that problem
I swear by my Kiwi, love it! I have the non battery edition, and as mentioned in the video, I use mostly with link cable and sim racing. comfortable as. Combined with leather facial interface, can't go wrong..
I have a kiwi elite battery strap and it works perfectly for me. I usually play with it unplugged from the headset until the battery gets low then plug it in to charge the battery for more playing time. Once done I plug the USB c into the battery so that it pass through charges the headset and then the elite battery. Once done I unplug the headset and the USB c cable from the elite strap. Haven't had any issues yet. But I have experience the issues you had with the strap eating up the battery leaving both dead, so yes that is a thing with the straps.

Im still happy with my BinBok Battery strap which even comes with a spare battery i can just change them on a long session and charge them, i made it to 10 hours in one session (VRC xD) and then the two batteries were drained and the quest falling off of battery as well so pretty solid and comfy! Okay i needed to pad the back part but after that mod its superb!
Halo headstraps are such a game changer for me. I made the leap from Quest 1 a couple weeks ago and the lightweight form of the Quest 3 is soooo nice. I hated the triple strap the Quests come with, they muck my hair and feel terrible trying to adjust. BoboVR's S3 is why I enjoy VR as much as I do (graphics aside of coure)
Currently rocking this headstrap, defintely my favorite style over the BOBO and I don't have the battery version because I'm using the Carina W1 and man! I absolutely love how light my setup is now and I can still play population one for like 4-5 hours per charge which is enough for me.
I Ran the kiwi strap for both q2 and Q3 but the fan on the S3 pro lured me to the halo strap side. 0 regrets jumping ship especially since bobo S3 fits the kiwi charging stand better than their own kiwi straps

Upon release got the Bobo M3 Pro and the Kiwi Comfort Battery Strap. Despite Bobo leading in terms of recommendations, the Kiwi was much much more comfortable to me, easier to get on/off, etc. Now I am seeing the huge uprising of recommendations for the Bobo S3 Pro (that I see you also have and covered) and wondered since you had both, what do you think? Is the new S3 Pro somehow different than the M3 Pro I had before that makes it fit/feel different? Only had the battery issue happen one time to me that you mentioned, was a combination of the headset not turning off so it drained the battery, and the external battery getting fully charged so it stopped charging before the headset started to drain it. I would assume the same could happen with others the same, just a matter of getting all the stuff to line up all at once to create the situtation. Generally I only plug in the external battery to charge, never the headset except that one time to fix the issue.

I made the mistake buying several straps to find out the best until I noticed on the Quest 3 it does not matter to much because as someone with glasses the moment you combine a decent third party headstrap/haloband with prescription lenses you can play forever.
Still on 29.99 amazon worldwide. A must for many at this price but i will wait for the battery one to go on sale as I have a nonbattery solution already (£9 silicone back head rest)
Actually got the battery version for my quest 2 a month ago and its so much better then the crappy strap the quest 2 comes with, literally threw that thing in the corner and never touched it again.
We need a halo with a soft backend so we can lay down our head on the back for hours without putting the pressure on one point when laying down on the backside of the head. so it needs to be flush flat but we need the support on the front of the face.

The S3 also has a built in fan that cools you while u play. If u like an elite strap better than the Binbok is affordable and comes with 2 swappable batteries. I just prefer the S3

my only issue with the Kiwi is the fact there is no battery on and off switch so my concern is you have to keep plugging it in and out which in turn will eventually loosen the usb-c port.
i have this one and love it but i cant use it because it is so uncomfortable laying down. would love to see a video on best laying down headstraps that still work with beat saber, especially now that the new laying down mode is out
I use the BoboVR S3 Pro only if I need a faster charging Battery over the Elite Strap von Meta. ...The BoboVR S3 Pro is simply too big/much. I would realy love a BoboVR EliteStrap with the new/big/fast BoboVR Battery!

I have been using the kiwi spc strap & stand for several months & am giving up and buying the bobo S3 pro, my main gripe is that the entire package seems to drain within 2 hrs and yet takes 8 hours to charge regardless of which charging brick I attach 18w, the original quest 3 charger or higher usb c PD ones... v frustrating
I'm a total Kiwi fan. I've tried out the Bobo lineup of head straps (buddy has the top-end one), and I'm just not a fan of the 'halo' straps in general. Kiwi's are super comfy, and even can be used pretty dang easily without the top strap - so it feels more like that 'Apple experience' lol. I ended up getting the non-battery first, but I'm definitely looking at the battery strap. I hope they've resolved the issue. Do you have any updates there?
With my quest 2 and the oculus battery strap, I always unplug the headstrap from the headset when I store the quest. I'd do that here too. That would solve the issue.
I'm still waiting on Bobovr's elite style with battery strap. The halo just dosent feel right on me and loved bobovr's quest 2 battery elite strap. Is it me are things slow at releasing for quest 3? VR cover seems very slow with interfaces ect.
@@jaybratt I got sent one of those to review. I loved my Kiwi Elite strap. This halo one was really awful. The facial interface was part of the strap and there was zero adjustability between it and the halo. So either it fitted you or it didn't. I'd expect for most people, didn't, would be the answer.
I charge the quest every 2. Day so for me external battery is not that important. Not that big issue after usage to put for charging. So example my watch and phone I have to charge every day so quest3 it is already better
Mine will arrive tomorrow. I think the problem is easily fixable by just unplugging the cable after playing or charging the strap and quest with pass through.
I have one with battery and it's great. Amazing experience playing games like Racket Club and Pistol Whip. Stock strap is garbage. When I charge battery it's plugged into Quest 3 and when both are full I just unplug battery.
Quest 2 and now quest 3 kiwi has always been my favorite and I’ve been rocking it since I first got the quest 3. As you know I use my 10 hour battery bank in my pocket with a right angled usb c threaded cord. The way I shoot it down the kiwi headset, you forget the cord is there. But yes kiwi is the shiznit
@@ReneGate83 I dont have the issues he had, But I use an Elite strap with mine and it is comfortable and doesn't have the light leak he was demostrating. The GC halo strap works almost as good with the interface. but I noticed light leak when using the spacers, no leak without them.

Can you review the BINBOK VR T3 Plus Head Strap? It’s the elite-style competitor to the S3 Pro with hot-swappable battery.
I actually started out with the Binbok and two swappable batteries. Worked and felt great. Just love my S3 more

I don’t like the big battery at the back of the head. I have one of these and a couple capsulish batteries I plug into the side of the quest 3.
I have a Elite strap because I’ve never tried a halo strap and don’t want to buy one then don’t like it 👍🏻
If you play shooters don't get one you cant turn your head fast in battles without cranking it down super uncomfortably tight.
