So, If I understand well, it´s all about compressing just the midrange (choosing a band for instance in Fabfilter Pro MB?) and having the sidechain selected as just that specific frequency range, letting the top and bottom bands "move" in their own dynamics?

@@ismaeletyl0 I done in pro-c and others, youre right that is a way. But I'm trying to understand how to control the eq of a compressor with external side chain

@@WorstViktorEU Wrong, multiband compression only on the mid band is technically the same because the HP and LP are just the same as crossovers in the multiband. It would've been wrong if he said dynamic eq since they use single bands (e.g. bell filters) to filter out the content of the compression
@@Breakbeat90s Then you'd have a fully wet signal and no retaining of the original signal. He's blending in the heavily saturated/compressed mid range with the original midrange of the track.
Pretolesi is a genius 🔥
Now this was special, thank you! Gotta have to try this on my own mixes.🎧
Hence the magic is in the mid range.
increible super claro!

I believe its not multiband but filtering the sidechain, rather than have the compression pump with bass. I might be wrong though
Thanks! Can you show how you do this with only plugins?. Best Mathias
Use mid band of a multi-band compressor
@@simonpaynesoulmusic Thanks, yes I know but would be nice to see Lucas way to do it :). Best/Mathias

any multi band compressor

Hi master Luca, can you show how you do this routing only with plugins?
there are another old luca's video wich show a similar tecnique with Fabfilter Pro C-2.
Any compressor with externally keyed side chain input + your stock EQ, or Any compressor with LP and HP integrated in their sidechain will do the job
@@Breakbeat90s do you know any video that shows how to do this kind of eq control in a compressor with external side chain?

This is just the same as Multiband compression on the master bus in the box right? 😂
no. although you could do something similar with paralel multiband compression focussing on the midrange. (leapwing dynone for example)
