When I first saw the promo images for GvK Hiya Godzilla, I had high hopes. Hiya's greatest strength was their ability to capture that on screen accuracy in their figures, at least when it comes to Godzilla characters. Combined that with a more affordable price as compared to SHMA along with the almost identical articulation, these figures are looking to be the standard for high quality Godzilla figures going forward.
I honestly feel like NECAs classic figures could have been REALLY something special with a different sculptor. I was always happy with the paint and articulation, but the sculpting never seemed to cut it. I had them all had some point but now only have all the 2019 releases, 1954 and some of the odd ones like the NES Godzilla.
I have been surprised by the lack of interest in the Super7 Godzilla toys. In general, I think pre-Legendary figures are not nearly as popular as Legendary ones. The Hiya Ghidorah does look great. I saw the paint master in person through a glass display at New York Toy Fair. It does need extra supports because it is off balance, just like every other Ghidorah 2019 figure, but otherwise I saw no issues. Let's hope the final product looks that good. I've been disappointed with SHMA since day one because I wanted them to be bigger, but I understand that some people would prefer them. Thanks for posting! Great video. - Heisenberg
I enjoy both companies output. SHMA are my preferred company because I’m about articulation and I love their sculpting, but HIYA easily do screen accuracy (so far) better. I have been attacked by multiple people on Godzilla Twitter for preferring SHMA, collectors should realise it’s a huge W that we have two companies putting this level of product out, not fighting over which is better
Hyia has the best Monsterverse sculpt, but I think once they start making Toho figures, its going to be SHMA all the way. Yuji is a master when it comes to sculpting the classic suits.
It's also an interesting discussion because most of what Hiya has made is what SHMA did not do as well at. SHMA is clearly capable of making some incredible figures with as much or more details than the Hiya Godzilla, but for some reason, they just didn't for the Monsterverse stuff. It really does boil down to how Hiya will handle some classic stuff. I would love to see how a Hiya version of Godzilla 1994 compares to the 95 Rebirth figure.
The MonsterVerse, Alien, and Predator stuff from SHMA is a strange miss. I don't know about their Monster Hunter or YuGiOh stuff, but it was definitely a weird blip in an otherwise positive history.
I fell in love with Necas toy line finally got all 23 but then Shma really did have some great figures but the prices are insane for some then then hiya I just wish would make it state side to give us budget collectors something to hunt then super 7 is pretty bleh $80 for something that looks like $40 quality
Dude I watched the whole video and I’m very impressed and I also agree with like everything you just said! I personally can’t wait to get the king ghadorah 2019 figure from hya toys and you my friend are underrated and have just gained a new subscriber!
The better one in my opinion is option c Both I personally collect the SHMA figures more but I am considering getting some of the Hiya figures in the future (especially female Muto and Monster Zero)
Anything that lights a fire on SHMA's complacent ass regarding their Godzilla stuff is fine by me. I want it and Hiya to push each other to greatness, for that leads to us, the consumer, winning.
Idk why, but I’ve been getting more interested in the Shin Japan Heroes Universe and the Showa Era, so I wanna see S.H do more figures on the Showa Era and what-not
Hiya is doin great I am excited 4 whenever I get my 1st figure. I'd love 2 c what they would do with a Biollante figure though. I really need 2 get 1 of her
Screen accuracy is what i want, I don't need ninja articulation on a Godzilla figure. Hiya has just the right amount of articulation with the awesome screen accuracy. Not to mention low price points. When i saw their King Ghidorah i had to have it. I never collected Godzilla before i saw that. Now i have pre ordered everything from Godzilla that Hiya has to offer so far.
I like Hiya best but I’ll still buy SHMA when I see figures I like. Haven’t gotten a Super7 figure yet but might if the mood strikes me when I see one. I think there is room for everyone. Buy what you like and like what you buy.
I did a video covering their appearance at ToyFair! Destoroyah is looking good and will have a ball-joint torso. 1200C Godzilla looks metal af, can't wait for it to land
@@red6309 yeah it was out of pocket, what's going on with China and the US atm has no bearing on my opinion on hiya atm. Good company and I wish they keep making products.
@@Kaiju-bm4ts I don’t like how the Chinese government operates. Buying directly from a Chinese company supports their regime. Many times it’s impractical to avoid these companies, but a toy isn’t a necessity.

Don't forget the fact that Shma Monsterverse Godzilla looks dogshit

I still have mine as well, everything except the 94. They have a charm to them, but they definitely leave something to be desired
Fr Steven’s toy review goes super in-depth analysis of the sculpt and paint when all I can say is “looks good”
You're are 100% right people who collect any Godzilla product should be able to buy what they want without criticism

The hokkaido godzilla suit promos from Hiya is looking real fine. I like SHMA but their prices and qc issues are horrible.

While I like monster arts better I’m still staying with monsterarts I recently got the monsterarts 2021 Godzilla and he is amazing

I wonder if 2014 Godzilla hiya will be better than the shma 2014 Godzilla
I'm really curious towards super 7's 1200F Godzilla and their Destoroyah

Sh monsterarts = nintendo

Hiya > monster arts
Any day all day
For Monsterverse figures, Hiya wins easily. Not even a contest. Gonna have to see how it goes for the Toho stuff.
