Damn you have a clean Qx4. I just picked one up and this video already has me wanting to play around with it. I look forward to watching more of your vids 🤙🏻
Entertaining content. I have a 01 qx4 located in WA, I am currently on a spacer lift with kyb’s. I will eventually go with AC coils and NRC’s coils. For the spare tire chain I bunched it up with a zip tie so it doesn’t jingle.
Shoot. You trying to lift it together? I got an 04 not too long ago. Just been trying to find the time and hoping to do it with somebody who’s planning to do the same to speed up the progress.
I just did 2"AC Coils up front/KYB struts and NRC 9447 springs /Bilsteins in back, 2 hockey pucks with holes drilled in them and longer bolts to extend the bump stops. I did the longer Frontier brake line swap since I went with longer shocks, longer diff breather as well. I didn't want too much rear rake but it ended up about an inch higher in the rear. Mine rides rough as hell, not comfortable anymore, I'll probably sell the springs and go with 2 inch spacers and the stock springs. There is something to be said for engineered spring rates. I used to skip across washboard and float over ditches and RR tracks, now I have to slow down, teeth chattering stiff. Who knows what the AC coils are really made for. I barely got them on the struts and I have a commercial style crank down spring compressor. I miss the soft ride doing 40 through the woods, I'll give it a year, but saved the old springs.
Damn is it really that rough I wanted to go Ac lift but idk anymore after your comment 😅 but my stock springs are worn out I feel have you seen the ones on eBay for 60 bucks for the pair
@@calambres6614 I live in Idaho so the roads are fairly unimproved where I go. If you're on a forest service road or like paved road or gravel road it's okay. But like rough rocky road or ruts it's pretty much rougher than my 79 Ford 1 time. It's been parked for a good 6 months I really don't even drive it. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to the trouble of trying new springs with spacers all the way around that way I've got a little bit of lift and stock Spring rate for driability.

Hey nice ride. I have the exact same car 2002 about to start a lift and tires doing the work myself. How well and how soft is the emu springs and Land Rover springs? Is the ride much harsher than stock? Which EMU’s did you get heavy/medium/or original?

Do you have the Auto transfer case? I just bought a 1999 QX4 and was wanting to install manual hubs mainly for the increase in gas mileage but was reading on some forums that the QX4's with the auto transfer case will cause issues if you install manual hubs.
