He means that you should not put the cap on the back of the pen while writing. Pen bhaari ho jata h
Few students put cap back side of pen. It makes pen heavier specially octane, trimax etc.

Fun fact: For the people who press harder while writing, this isn't for you. Holding your pen like that will cause your middle finger's top part to swell up. Trust me, it took months to lower the swelling.
