Cooper and I are joined by my old friend Rob for a few days of winter camping in our Snowtrekker High Country hot tent. We cook some amazing meals on the wood stove and explore the woods around the lake.
On the first night we get to listen to a pack of wolves in the woods nearby and we find their tracks near camp the next day.
I also try out my new toboggan and ice chisel from WhiskeyJack Outdoor Co.

Good times Tosh! This had a very familiar feel to it due in part to my having the same tent. I like the way you mixed in static shots, drone footage and live action, resulting in an overall cinematic feel. I definitely heard those wolfs, it brought back memories to a trip of mine a couple of years ago & I had a similar challenge trying to capture the sounds. If we ever have the chance to get out again I'll work with you on the night sky photos; with all the great opportunities you have it's a shame not to bring back some images that reflect the stunning skies up north! You two are crazy. I wintered camped once and I don't even understand why people do it. You work all day collecting firewood cooking and freezing. Makes no sense. Your food looks absolutely delicious though. I enjoy watching you out there just glad it's not me. Stay safe 💕

Depends on the trip I guess. I haven’t gone to far yet but longer trips are planned in the future.
What kind of sleeping bag do you use in these temperatures?
I have a -30 Talon from MEC.
When wolves do a lot of yapping and loud Howells usually it means they've had a kill

Yes it is. I’m pretty happy with it.
@@toshselfpropelled kind of wishing I’d bought that one for the extra space, but went with the 8X8 solo since most of the time it’s just me and my dog in it.
How was it with two people?
If regularly had two people for 5-10 days would you have gotten the 11.5x11.5 ?
I’ve got one pack mule so can probably swing the weight but still considerate.
