Hey Tosh Nice to see you had a video up, Love the Snowtrekker tent looks like you have plenty of room in it easily set up as well have to love that. Bet Cooper loved the tent .Mmmm the steak fry looked so delicious had my mouth watering lol as did your breakfast . lovely area to set it up and try it out , really enjoy your video',s ( had to share this one as well). until the next video, be safe take care. Ontario.
It’s a big upfront hit (tent cost more then my first car!!!) but I will get many many years of use out of the gear and the backcountry can be so beautiful and peaceful in the winter. In my opinion, it’s worth it.
Nice setup Tosh, oh and that breakfast looked yummy. What a sweetheart you are setting up Cooper so nicely for bed. Looking forward to your winter adventures!
I know what you mean. I made an adjustable ridge line with para cord to hold the two “Y” connectors on the ridge pole. It helps but it can still be a little awkward to get the poles all upright.
Nice set up. I have communicated with Snowtrekker trying to decide between the 8x8 and the 8x10 and he mentioned the High Country to me for the uses I told him I wanted it for so it’s great to see one in use for reference. I have the same candle lantern and can get an all night burn out of one candle. They are awesome. Subscribed.
Wesley, get the 8x10 simply because once you use the 8x8 a few times, you'll wish you had the 8x10 (Short Wall or High Country). It always happens. Don't get me wrong, I love my 8x8 for solo. But the 8x10 is PERFECT size for a luxury solo or if you want to add a buddy...and very little difference in weight and bulk.
@@toshselfpropelled another question; any issue with the vertical stove pipe of the High Country vs the angled pipes of their other models? I’m wondering about sparks / crap getting on the tent or rain water when the stove isn’t lit? I may be over thinking this but I’ll likely only have one so want it to be perfect. Thanks
hi is this tent is 8x8? Is it too small for one person to use? Are you using a cot? Please tell me if there is a reason why you did not choose 8X10 regards
Great video Tosh! Hope you do more of these. How is that hot tent, have you had it in any rain yet? I’ve always done mostly 3 season camping, but interested in some winter camping. I’m 6’3 also and like the fact that you can stand up in it with room. Keep rolling with the footage, it’s awesome
Great Tosh, been wondering about a hot tent. I live on the west coast so my issue is rain , not snow so wondering how a canvas tent does in down pours, any ideas?
That’s a sweet tent set up! Is that the same model Joe has? Teunis and Brittany have the 10x13 Outfitter and it’s palatial. Too big for just me. What knife are you using? It looks like a Nessmuk style blade
Thanks Alan. I think Joes tent is 8x10. Mine is 9.5x9.5. I think the high country has a slightly higher ridge and steeper walls. The knife was a gift from Joe. It is a Nessmuk style blade.
@@toshselfpropelled Thanks Tosh. I’m sure you’ll get many, many years out of both. As soon as I hit the lottery I’m getting a snow trekker and a KniCo. I’m getting mine with a stove Jack cover, back window w/cover and screens all around because…North Carolina 😆

I asked Toshie. And you delivered. Lol . Love the tent and always your drone vids.. and Cooper is always the trooper. 🤟🤙❤️ Awesome-sauce to him...
Cheers Chris. Thank you.
Yes, I was the first! Greetings from Switzerland!

Your editing and music is just wonderful. Also, I want to steal your sweet pup 🐶
Thank you. I miss that little dog. It’s not the same without him.
I find myself rewinding your drone-photography-music segments over and over. They are so beautiful!
Thanks Patricia. Glad you enjoy them.

Congrats on the hot tent! 👍
Tosh, Beautiful scenery as always! Love the new tent! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you.
I've been so tempted to get into winter camping. I wish hot tents and stoves weren't so expensive.
I agree. There’s such a big upfront cost with winter camping.

Big time
Thanks Tosh, great setup, gotta love the thick cut bacon cook up 😂👍
It was delicious. Thanks Shaun.
That cot looks like a nice option when weight/distance is not a huge factor!
Pretty comfortable to sit and sleep on but I wouldn’t want to drag it into the backcountry.
Very nice setup, perfect for 1-2 people and of course Cooper.
Yea, it’s pretty close to prefect!
I enjoy and appreciate the effort in your videos. Keep up the amazing work.
Thanks Aaron.
Nice new tent. It seemed reasonably straight forward to setting up. Thanks for sharing.
It’s very straight forward.
Love the new tent, Cooper seems to approve as well. Keep up the amazing drone footage!
Thank you so much Kelly.
Very cool setup

Thanks Lucie. We were pretty comfortable in there.
Hi from Newfoundland Great video buddy
Hello there! Happy to hear you enjoyed the video.
Loved this! Wish the video was longer. Cooper is the best! 🥰
Thank you. I agree, he is! 🐕🦺
Loved the video👁🦉👁
OMG you make this look so enjoyable. We are definitely looking forward to this years hard water season. Ps. neat tent and wood stove.
Thanks T&T. Winter seems very slow arriving this year!

Thanks so much Alex.
I see they've added vertical supports to it 👍🏻
Great setup 👌
Enjoyed it
Thanks Ray 👍
Wish the interior side poles had a cotter pin to lock into the top plastic bracket

Ahhh so relaxing..Pretty sweet rig Toshie, got room for three in there?😁
Thanks bud. There’s always room!
Que imagens lindas, esse tenta é bem legal e muito quente precisa também para não passar frio né?

@@Wblair8772 I haven't had any issues with the vertical pipe and I find it easier then have to prop it up with sticks or a pole.

I'm very happy with the tent. I haven't been out in the rain yet but I'm sure it'll happen at some point. Thanks for the encouragement.
Sure beats the 10 man tents and Coleman stove.
You’re not kidding.
Great Tosh, been wondering about a hot tent. I live on the west coast so my issue is rain , not snow so wondering how a canvas tent does in down pours, any ideas?
I don’t think it would do very well in heavy rain but they do make rain flys that would help keep drier.

Thank you. I used Montreal steak spice.
shocked that your camp-cot wasn't of the tactically acquired variety
I have a old one kicking around someplace. Pretty beat up though.

I'll tell you what, with that small axe he went throught that wood perty easy I'd hate to meat him in a dark alley!
Haha!! I usually don’t carry the axe in dark alleys😂🍻
How did you choose the size of the stove? Thanks!
When I ordered my tent it came with a 5” chimney jack so I found the largest stove from Esker with a 5” chimney.
The ones I’ve seen in the past were canvas. Where can I get a canvas tent. I’ve had several non canvas tents and they’re not as good.
