Peter was obviously saved eternally, but on various occasions he needed to be rebuked and corrected. Even the Apostle Paul had to correct Peter in the book of Acts, for not wanting to associate with Gentiles.

The Catholic Church is losing people left and right. In our town three Catholic churches have closed. Where are people going? To the churches where fundamentalism and the Bible are the bedrock. Parking lots are overflowing on Sundays, with cars parking along the sides of the road and in the nearby shopping mall. Catholic churches left in town? One priest to minister to three remaining churches; the fourth is up for sale by the archdiocese. Parking lot? Thirty cars on a Sunday. Christmas and Easter a few more cars. The church is driving people away in its quest to be more relevant and accessible.

@@EasternRomeOrthodoxy If you think the Pope is infallible, you yourself are deceived. Jesus often had to correct Peter, and at one point equated Peter with the devil, "Get thee behind me Satan". Peter was obviously saved eternally, but on various occasions he needed to be rebuked and corrected. Even the Apostle Paul had to correct Peter in the book of Acts, for not wanting to associate with Gentiles.

The Catholic Church is losing people left and right. In our town three Catholic churches have closed. Where are people going? To the churches where fundamentalism and the Bible are the bedrock. Parking lots are overflowing on Sundays, with cars parking along the sides of the road and in the nearby shopping mall. Catholic churches left in town? One priest to minister to three remaining churches; the fourth is up for sale by the archdiocese.
Parking lot? Thirty cars on a Sunday. Christmas and Easter a few more cars. The church is driving people away in its quest to be more relevant and accessible.
The so-called mainline Protestant churches did the same thing in the 1950' to 2000 or so. They were dominant. Now they are empty. God's power resides where His word is taken seriously.
Maybe some of those people are turning to Christ and joining a Christian church.
