Sorry but that was a terrible way to shave your head for a black guy, he's going to have sooo many razor bumps. Use trimmers first to take the hairs off then shave with the grain for less Irritation.
He did indeed shave with trimmers before starting with the razor. He then shaved with the grain on the first pass and reported a few days later it was still feeling smooth! It was Darius' first-time going fully clean shaven on the head and did feedback he might keep it that way. He definitely rocked the look.
It looks like Gillette skin guard razor. I just used it and it takes a couple strokes going with the grain with shaving cream. Got the job done but it was annoying but no razor bumps so far..
I shave my head in the shower every dam day. Get you a shower mirror from Walmart, caress bar soap, a schick hydro 3 blade, go super slow and cautiously and you good. You will keep your bathroom clean! Slap that alcohol on there when you get out the shower.
We recommend only after you have shaved with the grain first. Shaving against the grain does give you an extremely smooth shave but can cause irritation.
I absolutely love using Cremo shaving cream and Defender razors. I have one for my face and one for my head. I've always shaved against the grain and never have had a problem. I tried using the Headblade products and found them to be expensive and not worth it.
Great stuff! Some people can find shaving against the grain to begin with tough, but if you're made of strong stuff than it isn't an issue. Thanks for using Cremo!

The only thing I would add to newcomers to the shaving your head world is, shave your head down to the scalp before you use a blade on your head. I have an electric skull razor that gets it down to a smooth finish. If I want to get rid of any additional stubble then I use a razor for the rest and it is much easier and better for the health of your scalp.
Darwin Nelms if you are like me and have curly hair meaning you may be african american you shave with the grain.... This will leave your hair laying in the proper way it supposed to come out the pores. Shaving against the grain will have your hair curl inside the skin/pores thus leaving you with razor bumps. I know i have been through it and once an African American barber explained it to me i never had problems with razor bumps in the back of my neck or anywhere on head again. Also make sure you wash your head then place a hot rag/towel first before applying shaving cream and shaving. This will clean the dead cells off your scalp as well as heat your hair and make them soft. People say against the grain bc it will give you a very close shave going that way may help you not have to shave for 2-3 days but it will also give you razor bumps bad bc the hair will curl and not come out the pores.... I shave every 1-2 days with the grain 2 passes over the head it only takes 5-10 mins so if i have to shave everyday to maintain that smoove feeling id rather do that than have razor bumps... Also make sure you are using an all natural shaving cream if you have sensitive skin bc the alcohol and ingrediants in most shaving creams will irritate your skin.

@@lequanlee I started using Gillette ultra-sensitive shaving cream after washing my head with hot water, then I have a bottle of coconut oil in a travel size bottle mixed with 3 drops of tea tree oil.
