Many clown Blade today, but before him, nobody cared about Marvel like that, nor live action superheroes period. Nobody even cared about Black Panther until brotha Chadwick, R.I.P to him. And shoutout Wesley.
@yu-gi-ohheathen That was mainly only ever a thing in the black community tho, everyone else was free. I wish we didn't hold on to the notion that being a nerd was bad. Although I haven't really been the biggest fan of Marvel or DC since I was a kid on the count of the ray-cism they exhibited that unfortunately many of us didn't object to or speak out against. That's why I'm working on my own thing.
hold on we not gonna pretend superman didn't have his movies before blade got his, no one cared about MARVEL movies till blade. Yet people didn't know blade was marvel, so it boosted their money to enable an avenger's verse, but in terms of boosting marvel's name not really. So yeah i give it to waking up marvel, but nah heroes were already well established as a good medium for movies
@rasenganmaster101 Nobody was watching Superman like that accept for Yt people. At the time that Blade was being made, Marvel was going bankrupt, and it was because of the success of Blade that Marvel not only had the confidence but the support of the fans to even start the MCU. Nobody even cared about comics like that around that time, accept for mainly Yt guys, as they were the target audience. If it hadn't been for Blade, there would be no MCU, and if there were no MCU, DC's superhero movies wouldn't be on the stage that they are today. Somebody had to actually care about superhero movies first before the genre of film even mattered. Before then they weren't making nearly as much with that subgenre as they are today. Back then superhero films were just something done, they weren't actually that well established, nor successful. They kept trying, but that's why there were very few. No one cared. Blade did, indeed, give more attention to Marvel because it showed that Marvel had more than just Yt guys in tights. It showed that there was more to it.

A lot of people definitely did, it just not a popular thing to say you read comics back in early 2000s. It was considered uncool and nerdy
