Love the video, nice little tractor still working hard. A blast of the powerwasher before they arrived might have made things more pleasant for them though :)
Always a joy to work on equipment with layers of cow poop caked onto things. I kind of feel bad for the repair guys but they came with full body gear. LOL. I probably would have offered to power wash the area first, but that's just me being fussy about clean work areas. HAHAHA. I know, you're definitely used to it and it's par for the course. The guys certainly did make swift time with the repair assuming not too much was jump cut from the time line. I've seen so many different tire repairs for heavy equipment, it amazes me really that there are so many different types of rings, clips, and binders for the various brands. It's good to have an experienced and knowledgeable resource for this bigger stuff. It really turned out to be an easier fix WITH the right tools. This is definitely an example of where the right tools make a world of difference from an easier job to a major pain in the butt. Just finished scanning the other comments. I can see there has been quite a vocal crowd in here with opinions to boot! Yikes. No criticisms here, that's for sure. It's a hard job and you make it look enjoyable at least. Good job on the video, Richard. tyre = tire. :-p sorry, I type on the other side of the keyboard (not from the UK). HAHAHAHA
thefunkyfarmer its always a good idea to clean it twice a year buddy, at least thats what we do down on our little farm, makes things a lot easier to repair!
I get what people are saying about cleaning it but working on a farm myself driving a vintage kubota its a working machine and its pointless keep cleaning it lol
Tractor was covered in shit to the point that it was falling into the new tyre. And then they parked it in the shit and watched him work, while filming him. I'd be pissed off too.
I've work on and visited a number of farms in my time and a scraper tractor is never clean, it would be a total waste of time to power wash as come the next morning or afternoon it will be splashed again. The tire crew are quick and efficient, a good job.
Richard, Always enjoy the repair videos. Any reason why you can't make one long video instead of two short ones? The rim looks like it is about to fall apart as well. If that was me changing that tyre I would have been pressure washing that tractor down before starting the repair. That cow manure gets into everything & certainly causes a lot or corrosion.
born2flyaufair comment but some people prefer short videos and it gives me a chance to upload one video while i'm working on the other part.If i pressure washed the tractor half the paint would come off it i'm afraid. Its just the scraper tractor so apart from keeping it in good mechanical order i leave the muck on as it would get covered again the next day. I give it a clean once a year
thefunkyfarmer thats fair enough! i was just asking as with scraper tractors.. wear and tear is much more rapid than other machines as you probably well know, a friend of mine bought a brand new set for his and blew a tyre out the next week. personally i always buy used sets for 20 pounds or so, our scrape never goes off road so having tyres with a good tread doesnt really matter. they last us a good fair while too.. each to their own i suppose, if that works for you then fair enough! i do enjoy watching your videos and find it interesting to see how life on your farm varies from mine!
Ok i will just wait. By the way my grandparents are farmers too but they have fords. Hve you started silage yet a couple of people by my house have started but it mite be too early, just wondering. :) And i love watching your vidoes, keep on upload there Richard William.
I saw one MF 135 (built by EBRO) with 12.000 hours with the original engine. It's cheap to overhaul the engine because you have great spare parts sellers for your old English tractors! You are so lucky!
thefunkyfarmer I'm from Spain. Here is really difficult to get spare parts for our old tractors. Thanks to Fordson that introduced the Fordson New Major under the Brand EBRO we can have spare parts from UK to our tractors.
I'd rather see an old tractor dirty and still working daily as it was made to than all painted up and stored in the dry only to ever come out for the odd rally.
i love all these advisors down there.....not. the man had a sudden blow out. his time is valuable. let me see how clean and tidy your farm is first. make a video, go on. make sure to wash the camera first.
i would not know where to put my eyes from shame, to make other people work on such dirty tractor. i mean is it really that hard to wash the shit of the tractor once in while.
@@thefunkyfarmer the scraper get covered in shit the 135 i use had no can and no roll bars. But it doesn't get washed. Only the front and the seat but that it and it just a rise with a hose for like 5 mins. As there no point in cleaning the tractor. As it a wast of time. Muck get everywhere. So the no point. Like what funky farmer said.
Great video. It came up with a suggestion for these older videos. Blast from the past.

maize is being drilled tomorrow, not sure when we will do the silage.I will film what i can.cheers
Thanks, I understand it isn't easy carrying a cam-corder around all the time!!
I know it's a scraper tractor but wouldn't it be an idea to give the tractor a quick blast with a pressure every once in a while
Shaun Phillips can't see the point really as it gets covered in muck again straight away
thefunkyfarmer its always a good idea to clean it twice a year buddy, at least thats what we do down on our little farm, makes things a lot easier to repair!

Yep I agree
It peals off the paint so if you keep doing it it will rust and reduce iys life span by about 5-10 years
Jesus that tyre man was a barrel of laughs 😉

Love the maintenance videos, I've got an old 35x to tinker with
Great tractor to play around with
The 135 a good tractor

Paul F yep your spot on there Paul

What size is tyre
It's an iconic tractor, may be for scraping but sad to see, great to see it still working though 💥💥
Hi! Have you plowed and drills you maize yet? and when are u starting silage and can/are you going to film it? thanks as I love all you videos!!!
may i ask what made you decide to buy a brand new tyre for her? as a pose to going for a second hand tyre which is roughly a third of the price?
EvazionTactics thats ok if you can find a decent one.I'm happy with a new tyre on here that will probably last me 20 years
thefunkyfarmer thats fair enough! i was just asking as with scraper tractors.. wear and tear is much more rapid than other machines as you probably well know, a friend of mine bought a brand new set for his and blew a tyre out the next week. personally i always buy used sets for 20 pounds or so, our scrape never goes off road so having tyres with a good tread doesnt really matter. they last us a good fair while too.. each to their own i suppose, if that works for you then fair enough! i do enjoy watching your videos and find it interesting to see how life on your farm varies from mine!
EvazionTactics no worries.like you said each to their own
so what machines you running on your farm right now then?
EvazionTactics McCormicks and Masseys
no liquid ballast in the tires?
jda1961 why would i need liquid ballast?
thefunkyfarmer added traction, less spinning, more stable on slopes, but if you only use it to scrape muck then you probly don't need it
Ah I see. No probably don't need it
not till july Tully
Enjoyed
Great job from the u.s.a.
Did they fill the tyre with water?
no
Ok, isn't necessary ??
any chance of a video of use yard scarping rich?
Lee Smyth try this
ua-cam.com/video/fs96CIQVjZY/v-deo.html
Is that a zetor cab ??
sirocco
Richard you should make DVDs on the vidoes you do like when you did silage it would of been a great DVD to watch. :)
William Collett Dressage maybe i will one day, at the moment its just easier to upload to youtube
Ok i will just wait.
By the way my grandparents are farmers too but they have fords.
Hve you started silage yet a couple of people by my house have started but it mite be too early, just wondering. :)

William.
Thanks William. No we haven't started silage making yet. Its a bit behind this year
Ok are you going to recorded it
William Collett Dressage hope so
Great video and great tractor! How many hours have it?
Carlos_cmp 9000 on the original engine, not sure how much longer it will last but still goes well

Carlos_cmp yes you are right, its very easy to get spares for old tractors here. Where are you?

Why an fastcoupeler on the back
Thomas Adriaensen so we can unhitch the yard scraper and use the tractor for other things
oh it thougt you just used the tractor to muck out
Sometimes we put in on a trailer
You should hive it a wash even just a light one so the mudguards and other body part dont rot as animal muck is acidy and will corode it
My lad said "He didn't balance it dad"!!!!!!!!!!!!
😁
Hi funky farmer I was wondering if I could have a job
sorry i don't have any jobs
I'd rather see an old tractor dirty and still working daily as it was made to than all painted up and stored in the dry only to ever come out for the odd rally.
Paul F thanks Paul
Paul F my Dad all that dryed on mud gives a layer of protection.
First, wash the tractor ;)
i love all these advisors down there.....not. the man had a sudden blow out. his time is valuable. let me see how clean and tidy your farm is first. make a video, go on. make sure to wash the camera first.
yep
Ok
I sould think you know that from ben
when are u next doing hay again
These guys like to talk don't they. Aha it expect they were busy doing that tyre rich
To be fair they didn't expect to be filmed when they turned up
you word think he wood swill it down
Buy a jet washer
Please please please, power hose your 135, oil it up and use one of your McCormucks to scrap the yard. 👍
If had a been washed now and again wouldnt have needed a tyre
always clean the tractors when muck gets on it or it will rust the body work from ben
Time for a wash I reckon
SUPER KING WILL TAKE OVER THE TIRES MHAHAHAHAHAH ok lol what did i just post on youtube
sorry but clean that thing than it wil al lot longere
Poor tractor is neglected 😓
+Eoin Kelly its a scraper tractor what do you expect
need farm worker job
That tractor needs a bath
i would not know where to put my eyes from shame, to make other people work on such dirty tractor. i mean is it really that hard to wash the shit of the tractor once in while.
You've obviously got no experiences of using a scraper tractor on a dairy farm in winter
@@thefunkyfarmer the scraper get covered in shit the 135 i use had no can and no roll bars. But it doesn't get washed.
