I got a message that the riverbank at one of my favorite collecting sites collapsed! That would mean all kinds of fun stuff would be exposed and it wouldn't require any digging! Turns out, the collapse was a little less spectacular than expected, but that didn't keep me from digging out some amazing finds. It was supposed to be just a short recon mission so I really didn't collect as much as I usually do, but I got some pretty notable finds nonetheless.
All the fossils here are from the Stone City Formation, middle Eocene, ~41.8 MYA. Fossils from the Claiborne Group and Crockett Formation are found here. This is a very public location on the Brazos River, dividing Brazos and Burleson Counties in Texas.

those little blobs might be sea urchin things

be safe, oh muddy 1
I'm not worried about that so much as the train cars or people throwing stuff out as they cross the bridge.
Does the dentist know you got his tools?
I hear Whisky Bridge calling my name😂😂 Great finds! If I remember I’ll show some of the folks at my next PSoA meeting if they know what that large shell is.
Please! I would appreciate that so much. Please let me know when you come back and I'll but you a Freddy Burger at the Chicken after fossil hunting.

❤️ Buddy says C 🧐
Sweet finds! I wonder if there are tiny crabs in those concretions?
Oh, that would be so cool! Now I have to check.
C) Hunted for 2 + hours
it always takes time. well worth it. Thanks.
No, thank YOU for watching and commenting. I love to hear what y'all are thinking! Yes, it's time-consuming. No regrets. I never regret time spent outdoors!
I was there in 2008 or abouts. Actually I think my avatar is from that visit.
One of my favorite places to hang out, honestly. I miss it!
I knew you would hunt for two more hours! lol. And anytime you go there you find some amazing mico fossils! Again, we know that formation is not known for larger fossils, so that big one you found is amazing. Have no idea what it is either, but very large and very cool! and my best guess for those globular things is a tiny fishes poop in a concretion. Or other tiny things in tiny concretions. Lol. Or a tiny pearl onion that fell into tbe mud and got fossilized! lol! no idea! great finds and i hope you got your thermostat in and heat is working!
Now I'm thinking about Eocene Gibson drinks! Pearl onions.
