dunno if anyone cares but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown :)
A small gap is always the best practice and recommended by most manufacturers. The shave and file technique is for a better finished look. Cosmetic only.
Jayson, you can shave the edge with an Olfa on those sides or very short strokes with a Nicholson File. Make sure when you shave or file them you wait until they dry. Flick the edge with your finger, if it clicks then its ready.
Hey Ralph, Can this technique be used on any roll up window? I was taught to shift the tint an 1/8 of an inch down so it will not kick when it hits the molding. Will shaving the tint prevent kicking too?
Hi Ralph love the tutorial but one question i do have as I'm struggling with it is, how do you file right to the end of the glass where it goes into the rubber without taking the glass out?
I think at that point some use a special olfa blade that can bend past the curve but I’m not to sure but the film has to be super cured and dry if I were to do it successfully
Good video. I believe I have spoken to you. If you sell flex film I was talking to you about stocking your stuff. Never did get a chance to try the film.
The problem with this technique is that the tint will last less time. The weather stripping will start pressing against the tint every time you raise the window
I’m not completely sure why you are showing us this great method and giving up your professional secrets, but I appreciate it!
This video really helped me. It looks like there is no film on the glass with this method.
Thnx!

Great video tutorial, wish I had found this sooner. Thank you

awesome vid. Just wondering how you would file the top corners under the side seals?
Awesome information! Thanks for posting
Would you recommend the shave method on your summer car/pride and joy, or is there another method better suited for that classy style
The finish looks good
Hi Ralph, what licenses, certificates, legal docs, etc do you need to start a tint shop.
This seems easier than blade video.??? Is it ???
Good video. I believe I have spoken to you. If you sell flex film I was talking to you about stocking your stuff. Never did get a chance to try the film.

It was me.
Where do you tint? We do not have people with half of the attention to detail in wisconsin.
Ever flip flop your single edge blade Ralph when prepping a window..... nice video though

I have been using this method since 1987 and never had a window peel. I wonder what you may be doing to cause your window to peel?
Excellent. Thank you.
Thank you
Good post
thank you bro
I know you won't answer. but what did you do when you get a filthy dirty car that's full off dog hairs?
If i get a car with dog hairs... I tint it very careful.
Meant never flip flop single edge blade when prepping , not ever.... sorry about auto correct
not using the file for the edge, use only cutter for the edge if u are the professional tint installer😀
