Awesome! I loved both of you and your wife's take of this fragrance. I do love this one from Hermes but it is just too darn light and fleeting for the price. If only it performed better! You're so right, it is not a cowhide leather, it is much more sophisticated and modern.
I'm with you on this one Daver. It performs extraordinarily well on my skin and smells beautiful. It's a soft, floral leather without the rugged animalistic qualities of scents like Fetish Pour Homme and Bel Ami. A masterpiece from Ellena, in my opinion.

I get excellent performance with cuir d Ange. One of the best suede like smooth leather that is wearable and just does the job very well. Very underrated due to the exorbitant price.

Wow! That was certainly unexpected...I though the Fragrance Bros. would have disliked it, while Mrs. Bros (the ladies) would perhaps like it. I tried this fragrance back in November and found Cuir d'Ange to be a big disappointment. It's a decent fragrance (nothing bad) but it wasn't what I was expecting nor do I feel that it lives up to the Hermessence high price-tag.
Very soft-leather and light-floral is what I get out of this one. I also sensed a fresh marine vibe. Go figure! The leather in CdA has an elegant feel to it, however it was way too light for my taste. No doubt a number of folks will be asking, "Where's the leather?" For this reason, it comes across being much more feminine to my nose. These buttery soft-leather frags are just not in my wheelhouse.
If Cuir d'Ange were marketed as a women's fragrance then I would probably just ignore it. I did not find Cuir d'Ange to be the least bit unisex (another reason it should receive a low rating). I found CdA to be way too soft and feminine for most men. I've talked to a couple ladies who liked it but were not impressed to the point of shelling-out $250.
Anyway, one person nailed the review while the lesser-half (Daver)...well, I don't quite know what Dave was doing or what he was sniffing by giving this one 4-stats. (lol) Perhaps Jer's grandma and Talia should have reviewed this one. CdA lasts 4-5 hours on my skin and it sits extremely soft on my skin.

This dude didn't like it...I found it too soft and light for a man to wear. And I would much rather smell Cuir de Russie or other leathers fragrances on the ladies than this one.

you may not be used to natural ingredients in frags........this is what natural is meant to do..just be there in a quiet transport..not a beast
