The Original Sugess Chrono had a under-the-dial gear modification of the ETA 7750, namely the 7753, where the sub-dial configuration at 6'-9'-12' with day/date at 3' position of the 7750 was changed by moving the 12' sub-dial of the 7750, to the 3' position in the 7753. The Day feature was lost in the 7753, but the date feature could be located anywhere in the dial except the 3' and 9' positions, and has a balance cock instead of a balance wheel bridge. The NEW Suggess watch version has a different movement that IS NOT A 7750/7753. It has a Peacock SL4801. Peacock (one of the better Chinese Movement Makers), introduced the SL4801 at around 2019-2020, and that emulates the Rolex 4130- Both beat @ 28800 VPH (=4Hz), and Have Column Wheel and Vertical Clutch. Where the Rolex and the Peacock differ are in the Regulation System- Rolex uses screws in the inner rim of the balance wheel, while Peacock still use a regulating stud located on the balance bridge, Rolex has a single Fixed Poise Point of attachment for the Hairspring, while the Peacock uses a movable point of attachment and poise positioning (to poise is to get the balance jewel dead center with a line that stretches from the center of the balance wheel pivot and ending at the center of the pivot of the escape wheel while unwound, and balance is not wobbling or oscillating in the poise tool), and the Rolex has a Breguet Hairspring Overcoil, while the Peacock is flat. In my experience, my personal Sugess/Peacock sample I have, times very well after regulation- between +/- 4 seconds as measured on my Witschi Time-O-Graf machine. IMHHO, Sugess still says "7750" coz its marketing department is lazy, but at least they dropped the "Top Chronometer". And also IMHHO, this Peacock movement, if better built and finished, could perform at Chronometer Level coz in my machine it gave an amplitude of 301 degrees, a lift angle of 52 degrees, and a beat error of 0.1s, and maintained those figures even after 30 hours in the machine, meaning is working Isochronic (= same amplitude and lose/gain after been un-wound). Hope this clears some confusion. And certaily, THIS IS THE BEST DAYTONA HOMAGE THERE IS IN THE MARKET!!!!!
Crystal clear. It's not very often, I receive a comment loaded with vital information on a watch or movement. Thanks for taking the time to explain in detail. You are legit!💯
That new Sugess doesn't have the 7750, it has the Peacock SL4801 which is a 41 jewel clone of the Rolex 4130. It's a true column wheel, vertical clutch movement.
Sure its a 7750? I haven't seen the old version in a while, and this seems to have the new V4 dial. The current, recently released V4 model has an unbranded clone of the 4130 movement. Its mechanically identical but missing the rolex decorations and bells and whistles.
@@Trapvision3D The version with the stainless bezel with either stainless insert of ceramic is not the 7750, it is like the poster stated the 4130 clone. I own both, the dial with Sugess larger font is the new V3, the V2 has the same size logo as the rest of the font and the earlier Top Chronometer was V1 which too was a 7750 clone with Daytona mod.
Nice run down on this piece. I just copped one of these myself with the white dial. I already own two of their Ocean Star Submariner models and one of their GMT Master 2 Diver models, and they've been great watches going on one year of ownership and daily wear. The only issue I've had is the threads on the crown of one of my Ocean Stars were a little tight at first, but they've gotten better/smoother with use.
The Sugess with the triangle marker at 12 o'clock is the v4, which has a Chinese "clone" of the 4130 movement instead of the ETA 7750. I've owned the v3 in the panda color scheme with the 7750 for over a year and haven't had any problems, but I also refrain from using the chrono complication.
@@Trapvision3D Same for me. With the SL4801 movement in the v4, I don't think you'll have the same concerns with the movement's reliability that you would have in the older 7750 versions should you choose to use the chronograph.
I got the Le Mans edition and I’m debating if I should get this one also. The Le Mans version is unbelievable! But everyone should keep in mind that the bracelet will scratch. Wait for the sale and get a decent discount.
I've heard rumors that Sugess uses clone parts in their case, bracelet, and movements. So are legitimately getting amazing quality (imo) close to rolex. Not SUPER close but closer quality than alot of mainstream luxury brands
@user-or9cj3vk6t Lolll was gunna disagree but tbf ur exactly correct since it is indeed a rumor LOL. That being said I've heard a few other redditors from r/China time as well as r/Reptime with experience with both reps and gens state this. Could still be incorrect and just very very close but idk it does seem to be legit aside from possible internal stamping ie. 904L etc etc.
@Trapvision3D id almost argue QC aside sugess is THE top alix/Chinese homage brand. Even better than san martin IMHO but I've only had one watch from SM
here's me trying to finese a a real one like a chump :P So the main giveaway for me... is that dial is very very far from the real one. The real dial is actually quite pale, and looks white in a lot of lighting. The sunburst is very subtle.
the one that is being copied is actually the 60th anniversary daytona 126506 released this year only just making their way out of the ADs now. The main new element is the clear case back and outter metal ring around the bezel.
Not sure if you've ever heard my attraction to the Daytona story, but I was actually a kid and there was a guy in a suit at O'Hare Airport with one on. We're talking the 80's and this guy had on a blue suit with a silver Daytona with the white dial!
Just be careful playing with the chrono, because it has seconds at 6 and not at 9 the movement is a little less reliable if you constantly start & stop the chronograph
The new movement doesn't have that issue. The SL401 is a clone of the Rolex 4130, not the ETA 7750 which in Sugess had the Daytona mod making the second hand the same as the Rolex.

I wonder why the description referred to the movement as the "Dandong 7750"? Maybe that's the english translation! Appreciate the info ✌️
The movement is a dandong 7750 clone
The v4 of this watch has the 4130 clone movement with a column wheel

You’re right it’s the v4. Not the 7750 movement

Cost of maintaining this Sugess chronograph? Around 500 dollars...
Depending on what's needed, I'd probably just replace the entire movement
