I just got my M2K and have been using the Starlight 12 for several weeks now (which so far was the best I have used). The Specs are obviously amazing but it immediately felt very good for me once I dialed in the CPI I am hitting flicks very easily and the feel of the mouse is crisp/responsive and luckily very natural for my claw grip, a lot more comfortable than I expected. The mouse is basically perfect except for the fact that it is wired but I would rather have 4-8khz than wireless. I have only spent half a day with it but I can't imagine going back to Starlight 12 after playing a session of Overwatch with it. It actually feels pretty good for work/browsing as well so perhaps I will be maining this mouse for everything not just gaming.
I heard your cat meow a few times in the background. Ive been in bed for 3 days strait with covid and thought i was hearing a cat outside. Im bored and a bit down so went decided to see if i could see the cat. Got tired came back and 20 seconds later see a tail move around to your right and think ahhhh im fucking dumb haha. Anyway great video, i love the depth and technical expertise you provided. The fact you went pro at 30+ with no previous experience is also nuts and pretty inspirational. Thanks for the great video and the small uplift in my mood it provided.
Just ordered mine a couple days ago, I was tired of waiting before I ordered it. I’ve also run out of content to consume about the mouse, now it’s just the damned waiting game.
hey thats cool, i knew there was a reason you felt relatable :) i also stopped playing games around 2006 and came back in 2019. and i too have a starlight-12 on the way. #twinz
Hmm Atompalm I also "ordered" but nobody knows when it comes.... I think every mouse below 50g is good for apex but it n es to fit Ur grip style and run on the fastest pad u have
1. I have the starlight and ultra light 2 -I find these to be a bit too small (I had to use the infinity skin for the right side) and this thing is much smaller... do you think its useable? 2. Have you been using it at 4k? 3. Do you not miss the thumb buttons? I use them a lot especially in single player. 4. What is the sandblasted edition? I really want to try it but its a lot of money... Also what mouse pad did you say you are using?
1. Yes i use it every day :) i can easily play 3 account up to master rank in apex with it on a thor pad. 2. Yes i use it at 4khz the whole time 8k gave me frames ms spike and lags. 3. the only thing i had on thumb button was push to talk for ingame voice rest i have on my mini keybord. 4. sand blasted edition has a rough finisch, which means it has no clear varnish . 5. Yes its an high end enthusia product only for a few people. I huse X ray Pad Thor, right now a newer version the black galaxy one.
@@TheWhale030 thank you for the replies! I just bought the white equate and have my M2k on the way !!! I had thought you had said the Equate was the best but well see. I also have a hein soft and otsu and zero soft coming!
Hello TheWhale, you make a lot of interesting points about the future of mice, mouse pads and grip styles. So I have a question for you: what do you think about countless csgo pros that are still on zowie mice and 5-10 year old mouse pads?
I Love them alle :) Basicly the play the same shape for a decade on the same pad wich they replaced severall times in the last decade also with the same pad again and again :) These guys are just build different, and i think modern gamer who spand way less time can benefit from new mouse and pads a lot. :) The entrz is easyer with modern products.
Did you had any trouble running the mouse at 8k In Apex Legends? I got lag when moving the mouse in game. I tried all the stuff online to fix it but nothing Xd
@@TheWhale030 oh, i never thought about that. What do you use to set it at 4k? Because as far as i know you can only set the M2K at 1k or 8k polling rate.
Im currently using the Glorious 3XL mouse pad and I find it to be too friction based. Can you recommend any big pads with speedy surface which doesnt make me bankrupt?
im currently rocking a viper 8k hz and honestly this is so bad ahah i dont know how people like the viper shape, this is so uncomfortable to hold. ive also been using more and more finger tip grip as i started grinding more in valorant as i noticed was the best way to shoot the fastest and have better control and yeah, 71g just feels too heavy now ahah. one day ill be investing on this or if something else comes along in the meantime.
You're only paying for the carbon fiber and the shape really. Viper 8K will perform better (m2k is bottlenecked by its ancient sensor) and has better features while costing 1/4th or 1/5th depending on where you live.
If you're somehow saying a 3360 Sensor, isn't flawless, and anywhere near a 3310 how is the sensor bottlenecking compared to the 3389? (Viper 8khz) I own both, and Don't understand your logic here, as I believe you're not a owner, nor interested, and perhaps envious & simply hating. How is 24g, carbon fiber, not an upgrade from my viper? I don't main side buttons for CSGO, Warzone, and I'm going from 240hz, to 360hz The arm cpu handles both sensor analysis, alongside polling, I'm curious how or why you came to the conclusions you have, where or what proof do you have that a 3360 is bottlenecking a M2K? My G305 doesn't spinout on an Artisan Raiden Xsoft @ 400dpi, so I'm legitimately confused to you knowing something I don't, or if you're just typing out your ass bud.
@@steezegod2768 The "tracking quality" doesn't mean the sensor is free of any and all limitations. Please inform yourself of the facts before you start arguing with people on the internet. 3360 doesn't have high-enough framerate to keep up with 8KHz tracking. The creator of M1K/M2K himself said that on discord. Also Viper 8KHz uses a 3399, not 3389 (which is 5 years old at this point).
I Ur only argument is that viper is betterment... I talked about the shape and how it's done like 30 minutes. If I still think viper family is godlike... I feel bad for u. Try to open Ur mind. U should try Atompalm when it's out ;)
@@TheWhale030 I wasn't replying to you. Shape preference is very personal thing and I resepect that, fair enough. Sensor/performance is objective and measurable, not a matter of subjective judgement.
