- Trading is often referred to as an “all-out arms race” because of the constant need to stay ahead of the competition. In the hopes of gaining even the slightest edge, today’s trader is constantly looking for the next tool, resource, or indicator to give them a leg up. But what if that desire for greatness blinded them to one of the simplest, most reliable, real-time indicators available: VOLUME.
** And where better to find the tools and resources you need to perform price-volume analysis than on Barchart.com? Barchart Premier is designed to give you that edge you need, as you'll see in this webinar. Get a FREE 30-Day Trial to Barchart Premier here: www.barchart.com/get-barchart... **
A common saying among traders is the trend is your friend and volume can be used to assess that trend’s strength. Volume can warn us of a trend’s impending change and alert us to potential tops and bottoms.
As most traders know, market prices are determined by supply and demand. And those transactions are recorded by volume. Traders often say that "volume confirms price." The price-volume analysis goes together like thunder and lightning. You can't have one without the other.
Barchart's Head of Trading Education, John Rowland, explains why volume is his favorite technical indicator. John demonstrates how to use Barchart's Most Active Stock Volume Advances page to look for trading opportunities.
In the webinar, you will learn about:
- The Four Phases of Price-Volume Analysis
- Significance of High and Low Volume
- Barchart's Most Active Stocks page, www.barchart.com/stocks/most-...
- Other volume-based technical analyses such as On Balance Volume, Accumulation-Distribution, & VWA

Thanks a lot for watching! Glad we can help.
I learned plenty of things from trendlines, support and resistance, pivot point, vwap, averages, reading candles, and plenty of indicators,. Unfortunately, non of the professional traders ever mentioned how tonuse Volume and Price action to define the strategy.
I wish i knew about how to read volume with price action before i lost thiusands of dollars and plenty of pains.
At least with volume, I can define if support or resistance will be broken or not or if it is fake break up.
Yeah, i heard about it from David Paul may he RIP and from there, i looked for Volume and price action.
Thanks a lot, your video has more value than thousands of videos, unfortunately your great video undervalued as new traders are still looking for indicators that are lagging indicators. Thanks a million times

How to differentiate phase 2 weak demand from consolidation that continues moving upward? Many stocks now like NVIDIA META SMCI CRWD look like your phase 2 weak demand , but most analysts say it is a consolidation after big run that most probably will continue up. Is that different ? Thanks

54:05 if you were to take a daytrade on the natural gas, would you trade it from the 60 minute chart that you showed us or a lower timeframe?
Hey Beverly, Every trader is different in their timeframe selection. It basically comes down to risk tolerance and trend analysis. I prefer the 60 timeframes for both a good trend time and I can afford the risk that 60mins entails. Sometimes I will drop down to 15 mins to refine my risk (lower it) but I never start there. I'm strictly top-down, Daily, 4Hr, 1Hr (15min refinement). Hope that helps, Good of All Trading
Hi Beverly, thanks a lot for watching!
