Your music is just so genuine that I can't help but be enthralled by it. You play with a conviction of someone who truly enjoys and wants to share the love of music, it doesn't matter if its maybe a little off key or what have you because to the people who really play it and want to share that doesn't matter. so thank you for sharing with us all.
I love the steel drum! I taught music around the world camp this summer for 4-6 year olds and we made “steel drums” out of pie plates and poster board. It was LOUD, but boy did we have fun. 😂
I really enjoyed this. It's amazing how just the simplest of things can be turned into something to make music. Music must be inbuilt into humans. The desire to make music must have been with us since the beginning of us. I really enjoyed this. You go to the Caribbean and bring back a drum.....why am I not surprised. 😅 I would be bringing back fabric. 😆
The classic sound of the Caribbean - nice history lesson and explanation... I made one of these once... not quite in tune, but a lot of fun to do... Great song to demonstrate with!
Wow, I never would have expected a drum to be so melodic (though I also have never before heard a performance on a steel drum). Well done! Kudos also to your guitar accompanist. :)
Love the steel drum sound. Have a friend who has a hand pan,and i want 2 get one too. After I master the lyre and duduk i just bought!😂 Always get a musical souvenir!
Harry Belefonte etc. Always the first musical Caribbean thought. The composer's name escapes me on this. Perhaps we only know prop of didneycorp anyway...Beautifully played 😊.
Very cool! I enjoyed your info too. Look up “Sesame Street - a drum from a barrel” I thought of that old clip immediately upon your description of how they make steel drums.
The difference is in British English vs American English. Having lived and worked N travel in both places....I learned 2 say it the British way...then had 2 change when I moved back 2 the U.S. Both are correct, just depends which English U speak.
Love Love Love how you share much more then just the music. Thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks!
DeeDee, your play always brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart ❤️

Thank you! I’m sure it’s a Disney composer for the Little Mermaid. Certain songs work better on the steel drum!

I think I remember that too! Thanks!
It's "Care-uh-BE-un", NOT "Kuh-RIB-bee-un".
Both are heard down there ☀️
