thank you! the other videos about this don't do justice to the marxophone
Wow! I really appreciate that! I DO like to play these instruments like they were made…but then experiment with more satisfying techniques 🎶
I know this hymn as Christ Be By Leader, and it is one of my favorites!
It’s a good one🎶
Stunning!!!
Thanks for listening 🎶
Love it, love your dulcimer playing!
Thanks a lot!
Very cool!
Thanks🎶
Respect❤
Thank you!
Irish feel to it
I think so too…..one of the reasons I like it so much!
The three bows together are incredible !!! Thank you
Thank you, it’s fun to get creative with those old instruments!
This brought back a memory. 1974, in band, I played the glockenspiel. It looked just like yours. Thank you for the beautiful Christmas tune and the sweet memory.
Thanks for sharing the memory!
Wonderful to hear such a lovely instrument played so well thanks.
Thanks for listening
So interesting. Thank you.
You are very welcome!
Always a joy and so talented.
Thank you🎶
❤❤❤❤
That's pretty cool when can take an old 55gallon drum, cut off the top, temper it, and then create the numerous individual sections for the different notes. Oh and its also very cool to hear you plating it :o)
I have come to appreciate the creativity of cultures to invent such unique instruments! And…..such FUN to play!
❤bravo❤
Thanks🎶
I've seen them in antique stores, but have never heard one played. Well done!
Thank you! They’re made to be quite easy!
My grandma gave me an Autoharp for Christmas! Thank you for this video.
You are going to love it! I think it's such a versatile instrument.
@@deedeetibbits Daddy's going to try to tune it before replacing the strings. If I get good enough he'll get me a case. Funny thing, he said if I play on stage and only have one really good song on the autoharp and it's not my first instrument, people will think I mastered it. Quite funny, but I like seeing people smile.
Very sonorous and rousing! You did a fantastic performance here. May God continue to bless you.
Thank you ! I appreciate you listening 🎶
An excellent combination! Bravo!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Outstanding as usual. I enjoy your playing of antique instruments.
Thanks! The old ones are so much fun to figure out! It makes me feel connected to musicians from 100 years ago🎶
Absolutely a beautiful song for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ
I think so too!
What a lovely sound, straight out of Breughel,s paintings of frozen Thames in Winter😊
I’ll have to check that out….,
That is just beautiful. AND very clever of you to combine the two. 🥰
Thank you! I think they go together beautifully! 🎶
That box sure rings out and has nice sustain. They seem to have sold a lot of these, I've seen them in local shops and now I have the information about what I'm looking at and a good reason to buy one. Using three bows for Away In A Manger sounds angelic and is a tear jerker....if a macho guy like me made "tears".
It is SUCH a fun and interesting instrument to play! If you get one…make sure it’s not the Marzochime one….they’re cheaper made, and don’t hold up as well, or have that resonant sound. I actually have one for sale…picked it up at a festival. It’s missing a few strings, and none of them come with bows intact (psalters bows are easy to find) so I got them, but haven’t put them on yet. It’s in good shape. If you’re interested, let’s email from my website deedeetibbits.com and talk more.
Lovely. Thanks for sharing. It gives so much pleasure. What a melody! Beautifully played.
Thank you! It’s very moving to play! I love it on the Irish Whistle ☘️
Oh my favorite hymn. Thank you sweet lady !💕
You're very welcome!
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Beautiful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic song.
Thanks 🎶
Love it!
Thanks for watching!
Love your music DeeDee. You have a special talent. The world needs more like you. Would love to meet you sometime. About 90 minutes west of you in Montcalm County. Do you know Stan Saylor, accordion man? He lives not far from you.
Does Stan also tune pianos? If so…I did meet him. So glad you enjoy my music….thianks!
DeeDee, you are a living museum!
Haha! Sometimes I feel like one!
I’ve loved steel drum music since I lived in the Virgin Islands for several years as a child. Your immense talent never ceases to amaze me. I doubt that there is anything you couldn’t figure out how to play.
Awww…. Thanks! It’s always been a challenge for me to find unusual instruments and figure them out! The music is the same… but the techniques are the challenge 🎶
My uncle had one hanging on a wall because he liked the looks and he never knew what it was called, little less how to play it. Thanks.
I hear that kind of story a LOT!
Very nice! ❤❤❤❤❤❤Interesting string instrument. Curious about what the sheet music looks like. Is it treble and base clef? I need to check out your web site.
Hammered dulcimers use treble clef only. I’ve arranged ONE with both clefs because of the low bass runs, but that’s the odd one.
@deedeetibbits , I wondered about that. I see you also play harp. Me too and am trying with the cello. The dulcimer has an enchanting sound. Kind of like between cello and harp. ♥️
A wonderful music instrument. I love your way of the history and playing of it.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🎶
hrhr
I like to different instruments, you are a special lady, learning to play music like you do.
Thank you!
Have only discovered your beautiful video. Love your dulcimer and this Ukrsinisn carol ❤
I do TOO!

Thank you for another wonderful instrument played by a talented lady to calm my PTSD. 💚🌻
You're SO WELCOME! I'm so glad this music helps!
interesting combination of instruments, i love it 🧡 well played
Thanks for listening! I had never tried that combo before🎶
So good - brought tears - thanks !
You’re so welcome! Happy New Year!
Beautiful playing. It is a lovely carol sung in Ukrainian language (Or any language!). Thank you 😊🎵
You’re welcome! I’d LOVE to hear it sung in Ukrainian someday! I’ve been told that the original lyrics are about swallow….
Just Beautiful! I've loved this instrument since I first heard one, & I have always loved this song, but put the two together & just WOW! They were meant for each other! Thank you for sharing your talent so beautifully!
You're welcome! They truly are a beautiful combination!it does seem that they were made for each other🎶
Your playing always makes me smile because I can see 👀the Joy of the LORD in you! In my mind the hammered dulcimer IS heaven’s music. Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us.
You are SO WELCOME!! I’m blessed that you can see all the way to my HEART ❤️
Joyful.
Glad you felt that!🎶
Those chords could almost be rockabilly. Like an early electric guitar sound. I enjoy the music history you include with the music. On the H note or chord-when the jazz group The Modern Jazz Quartet did an album of Bach tributes, a kind of a baroque/jazz hybrid, one of the tunes was called Blues in H. The Germans have that weird name for B.
Yayyy! Thanks for sharing that tidbit🎶
I have Fallen in Love with Dee Dee. I Confess. Help me please..... Thank you so much. I judge that you may be an Angel given to Earth now.
