MaDDeX I haven't had issues with it in the year I've owned it but recently with Pie update it's become annoying. I think just remapping the fingers again would fix it
The xz1 has a stronger casing (hate the fragile glass phone trend), plus a headphone jack, so in those cases it's superior. But design-wise I think the XZ2/3 look much better. I love the new design.

Really want to see your opinions on the brightness and the screen quality when watching the same content on both - I used the 8k labeled content on UA-cam ofcourse these are not really 8k but the impression I got was the 1 was not bright not able to be punchy. mr am Yeah, that plus it being a fragile glass phone are the two biggest issues of the phone for me. I'm a Sony fan but wish Sony hadn't copied these dumb design choices from other manufacturers. Plus I also hate how they raised the price to $1K like Apple and Samsung. I think those prices are ridiculous. It's still the best phone on the market, tho.
LOVED every Sony phone I have owned since the Z2 up until the XZ Premium. They did everything right. They have lost me as a loyal customer because they are now copying other phone. The last straw was NO HEADPHONE jack. I have switched to another brand with a headphone jack and 32 bit DAC. Until their new flagship phones have a headphone jack side fingerprint reader, option for more internal storage, I sadly won't be purchasing one.
Think the xz3 is a very good phone have no problem with the position of the finger print scanner. It has a good weight to the phone. Just hopefully my all round protective case comes today if not it will be tomorrow
Nice comparison! I still have sony xz1 and xz1 compact... Both on android 9 and really fast... They can play pubg on ultra without lags but xz1 compact temp is higher than xz1. I can play pubg while i charge my phone and using my headphone on the same time. In the future i think im gonna need some bluetooth headphones but for now im ok. I think i m gonna change my phones when xz4 and xz4 compact released... Still i prefer xz1 build especially for gaming, but xz3 build is not that bad...And his screen is better... Xz2 is too thick i think... 11.1mm??? wtf???
Im still using xperia e4g. Out of the box it ran android kitkat (4.4) and it only had a couple of software updates but it never got updated even to lolipop (5.0, 5.1)
You shudve gotten the system updates If u havent just try installing Xperia Companion on ur computer and plug in ur phone and it will let u download the upgrade
Goodness, I don’t like the curve designs of XZ2 and XZ3. Bezel-less indeed but is curved, I fee like I’m looking at Samsung. What’s worse is XZ3’s screen edge is round. XZ1 with bezel-less would be the perfect design.
I like some features of each one. I like fingerprint scanner on the side like the first. I like the screen type of the second. I like the screen size on the third. Combine those 3 features plus the 5g chip and I'm sold. Everything else aside from the OS and raw performance is basically the same to me. OLED is prone to burn in which is why I hate newer phones. My XZs got a 1740 single and 4135 multi core score.
yes, xz3 booted first. you pressed the button for start on it first, and then the other two haha personally i had a choice between xz2 and xz3, both brand new and at the same price tag (around 500$). I went with xz2, I prefer the design on it and the lack of oled, and ofc :3 it wasn't upgraded to android 9. While you might find the android 8 gui boring and old. I find the android 9 gui ugly and iphone-ish. So, I'll stick with android 8 till android 10 hopefully readds some of the features from android 8 (mainly the multi tasking being up - down; and not left right). Heck, I prefer the icons on 8 more too. So, hopefully google gets a better android next year. But anyway, for me, XZ2 is better than XZ3, and afterall the main difference between them is lcd vs oled. Pick which ever you like more (oh, and XZ3 is slightly taller but slightly more light than XZ2). Performance wise, they should be similar as its the same processor, same cpu, same gpu, same camera. Oh right, the reasons i picked xz2 over xz3: smaller (my hands are quite small), lcd (i prefer lcds) and i really dislike the round corners on the screen on the xz3. It makes it look like a hourglass in my eyes, and, I know I'd get bored and annoyed by that design if that were my personal phone.
