In lower and middle assam, xaal(khaal) or taat-xaal bolte hai, and upper Assam mei xaal(haal) or taat-haal pronunciation karte hai. Thoda accent, pronunciation & dialect (kothito) thoda change ho jata hai.

Jorhat mei Lahdoigorh town mei Silk ke research Centre hai, aapne miss kar diya. Waha aapko puraane time mei China aur Northeast especially Assam ke bich ke Silk aur silkworm ke bich ki history jaanne ko milta. Silkworm ke farming, research, conservation etc. bht kuch.

Tussar silk is mainly from china... It is not from Assam... Muga , assam silk (paat) all these are from assam.... Paat and muga cloths can not be made by machine.... These cloths have to be made in traditional way... Only cotton cloths can be made by machine.... And cloth which is made from muga lasts for minimum 100 years.... 3 generations can wore the same cloth made from muga.... Muga is called "Golden threads of Assam".

Aur Arunachal Pradesh mei bhi kuch communities ek type ke Silk production karke traditional dress ke liye bhi banate hai. Jinko Assamese log Edi or Endi Silk pronunciation as Eri Silk bolte hai.
Northeast Muga Silk and Edi(Endi/Eri) Silk ke liye bhi jana jata hai.
