Let's be honest Komugi is such a writing masterpiece cuz most Anime would go to this linear plot where the MC is going straight to the main villain. Gon is not going for Meruem and Komugi's existence just prevented this whole arc from going to that basic storytelling. Imagine a character so crucial to the story yet never had an interaction with the leads.
Togashi in this arc want to tell everyone that hes capable of writting a basic shonnen arc, you know long,great god level villain wants to rule and destroy humanity,old fella with massive power,main characters trained hard in the travel to save the "world"....etc. but at the same he makes this arc a seinnen somehow too and breaks alot of "shonnen" things but with the feeling of a pure shonnen arc....togashi littaraly said yes i can do it
Komugi is THE best Damsel in distress / Hostage type character I've ever seen , the way Togashi uses her character is SOO well done , writers should take notes .

@@Idkexactly Well, seinen is just a demographic age group (young man/adult man), so, of course, more mature themes will make their way into seinen manga. HunterxHunter is still very much a shounen manga since it is meant for middle/high school-age boys, but Togashi is choosing to deconstruct the tropes used in shounen manga or use them in different ways. The injection of more mature themes about human kindness and cruelty is maybe Togashi wanting to believe his readers are well-rounded and smart.
Meruem is definitely one of the best villains ever! Also I love how you talk about the characters in this arc and how you point out and appreciate their personalities. I really think these characters are so well-written, even the villains and side characters are so interesting and likeable.
Meleoron's ability is likely so strong BECAUSE he smokes. It's not easy to hold his breath therefore the condition of doing so to use his power makes the ability stronger
It's strong because it was a rule that is very bad for someone who smokes and he is a smoker. However, if he stops smoking, I don't think the ability will weaken.

Chess in its early interation was a boardgame that allows One to develop Tactical and Strategic acumen and skills, cause as a KIng you always had to be prepared for War, but it din't mean that you'll always be in One to learn these skills. Same goes for Gô and other games. So has a "King" and while they are waiting for the preparations for the Harvesting day to end, he plays games. One of the consequence is that he it will make him a very efficient tactictian and he will learn to read his enemy tactics and Patterns... You'll see...
Even tho HxH is technically not done, I think the anime ends on a good note. It ties off most loose ends and finishes on an optimistic note. Pumped to see these reactions
I love Komugi so much, she's so adorable and sweet. Meruem is frightening but I always look forward to the episodes where he gets a ton of screen time. He's got such an intimidating charisma around him (when he's not eating people and laughing like a madman...)
The hunter association did send few reinforcements but they got taken out. It was mentioned in earlier episodes. Morel was talking to Knov that they didnt send the hunters they requested, which in turn would ruin the operation and make it Netero's fault
Komugi’s presence actually speaks a lot about King’s evolving character. We expect a ruthless king to simply kill those that irritate him. We see clearly that Komugi can be annoying to the King, yet he tolerates and accepts her presence. We are slowly seeing King develops his own set of values, and what he deems worthy to spare.
Now that I realize it just like how nanikai has powers of a certain monster in the dark continent komugi might have gotten a power from the dark continent also or it’s just some type of rare nen

Komugi is a nen user but she doesn’t know that like neon nostrade the fortune girl. You can’t see komugi’s aura because she is enhancer and the ability is enhancing her mind when she plays the game. People like this are called : geniuses in the hxh universe, because they can use nen or see nen without knowing what it is. There is 2 ways to use nen 1- a nen user helps you open your pores 2- by meditation, if you have strong desire and strong imagination you could use nen without knowing but it’s very rare to happen. Like neon and komugi Komugi the game is her life .. Sorry for the long explanation lmao
Her opening her eyes when playing gungi could be a condition to enhance her mind. Neon's condition for a 100% sure fortune could also be that she doesn't really remember anything she wrote, and her belief that reading those fortunes is bad could also affect the outcome.
They don't explicitly state it, but it does become a little more obvious later on. Also, wasn't the enhancer thing something the author said, like, years after the arc was finished?
Power system lore: creating a space, like Cheetu or Knov, is a Conjuration ability, but sending things to that space is an emission ability. Cheetu is likely an conjuror who only needed emission to send them here and back (while Knov opens many portals). This makes an ability like this difficult to use since conjuring and emission are at opposite ends, and it's complex, so it practically requires conditions. It's also worth noting, the only reason Cheetu can use such an complex ability is because Pouf (the butterfly) was said to have done something to him, to allow him to use this ability; the ability to give others abilities, makes a scary enemy. (Group nen abilities are _fun_ ) Such as Shizuku condition of not being able to suck up living things, since she's not an emitter or manipulator (required in the pulling things into it part). Come to think about it, she probably created that ability because she wanted to clean things up, you know, living in trash and all, cool. In otherwords, definitely possible to create a bag of holding, and you know, who wouldn't want to do that as an Emr or Cnjr? Unless you just want to shoot projectiles I guess, that is nice. I just had a random high thought. We see that Peggy was the first creature that Meruem eats after his birth right? Seeing Peggy’s personality it would be safe to assume his ability would have to do with his intellect and desire for knowledge. Not sure if you guys already plan on watching this anime but, I think Carter would appreciate a newer anime currently airing, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. From how he critiques the shows you guys watch here on this channel I think he would find this anime has a lot of depth. The story, the music score, the characters and animation, this show has it. Definitely highly recommend either on or off the channel.

i havent read manga but after finishing the anime there is a perfectly good explanation why only these hunters are available. you guys will be shocked about in the final episode and only one thought will come to mind that HxH should have 1000 episodes just like one piece.
Far from everyone says this arc is the best, theres a sizable minority that considers this arc terrible for many reasons, maybe chief among them, its pacing. This show would have been so much better without this silly and boring arc in it.

Not sure if you guys already plan on watching this anime but, I think Carter would appreciate a newer anime currently airing, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
From how he critiques the shows you guys watch here on this channel I think he would find this anime has a lot of depth. The story, the music score, the characters and animation, this show has it. Definitely highly recommend either on or off the channel.

i havent read manga but after finishing the anime there is a perfectly good explanation why only these hunters are available. you guys will be shocked about in the final episode and only one thought will come to mind that HxH should have 1000 episodes just like one piece.

Far from everyone says this arc is the best, theres a sizable minority that considers this arc terrible for many reasons, maybe chief among them, its pacing.
This show would have been so much better without this silly and boring arc in it.

@@ozzyfanatic666 its not bro, the way togashi mirrores humanity and who we are and how we see ourself at the top of the food chain and cant accept eveything to top us no matter how....its really good the ants were just like us but stronger.....this arc did the most important thing in hxh main plot wich is killing netreo, netreo was not allowing anyone to step the dark content, at the same time togashi give us a hint of his greatness writing if we steps to the dark content (yep my english is fucked)
arc end at probably 138 there is one more small arc related to killua that will end the series

My only problem with hunterxhunter is the greed island arc, I really enjoyed the phantom troope arc and iv heard all about how great the chimera ant is but I generally can’t get through greed island. Is it even worth it? Or shall I just skip it?
I think it’s fine. I also skipped the last few eps of Greed Island. But you will miss some context if you want to continue with the manga.
I loved greed Island, getting sucked into a game was such a cool idea for me, one of the lesser arcs but still very good in my opinion
