    Hello great video, I took my Hesi fundamental today. I did not pass honestly my Hesi was very hard. I went over the green book honestly the only thing I seen in the exam was safety and delegation from the book. Not sure if it is because, apparently we was the first group to take the Hesi New Generation. Any tips that you could share?

      What was hard about it? Was it not the information that you learned in school? Like safety, abcs, Maslow etc.

    • @KristinaMerrill
      @KristinaMerrill  2 роки тому

      After doing some research it states that the only difference with the new HESI is the fact that they recycle their questions differently and remediation is different. Did you do the remediation? The Saunders book is excellent for fundamentals concepts if you feel that you don’t have enough material from your actual class. The only way to get better is to study and do questions!! Don’t get discouraged if and when you get some wrong! Even if you got every question studying wrong as long as you read those rationales you will be okay!! I have all the faith in you that you can do it! Let me know how it goes. 😊

      It really should be based on your fundamentals course but many times teachers don’t cover everything on there because it’s quite impossible. But yes safety, abcs, Maslow, labs are all super important! The biggest issue is figuring out how HESI wants you to answer their questions! If you pass the first time still read the rationales because you most likely will have to take another test again and it’s important to know how they want you to answer their questions.

      @@KristinaMerrill I took hesi v1 (version 1) last week. I made 858. Tomorrow I take v2. I learned from another student who is in another rotation, that it’s harder, but she said she didn’t study and still made above 900.
      The secret besides knowing your labs, Maslow, etc, is knowing HOW to break the question down. Grab the important information and then read each answer using TRUE OR FALSE technique, along with common sense, and not taking a long trip around the question; and above all, trust your gut. I have no idea how I’ll do tomorrow, but since I already benchmarked, my stress level is low. However, I’m still doing questions today, AND looking over the hesi book first 3 chapters as you suggested 😃

    Can you please make a video or give advice on how to study for a pharmacology final . Mine is cumulative and 100Q . How do I even begin ? Thank you very much for all your help and the time you put into your amazing videos . 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

    • @KristinaMerrill

      I made a pharmacology video! Watch that and hopefully that will help on where to begin. I would also make sure to know what drugs have certain endings and think back to your previous tests. What did your teacher focus on? Knowing the name of a drug, toxicity or signs and symptoms? Every teacher is different. Also ask your teacher! She makes the test so that is always a good starting point. And remember you got this!! :)

      @@lisab7148 well…it seemed a bit tougher. The math questions were harder…for me anyway. I struggle in that area. I had a lot of tissue integrity, a few delegation, a few dosage Calc, and mobility questions. Also saw postOp questioning. And a few others that I don’t know what category they’d fall under - those were harder for me to answer.
      Mind you, I didn’t sleep well at all last due to area storms, scared dogs jumping in the bed, and me waking up worrying about the exam. But I still scored well. God is good.
      All I can say is: read and then reread the questions. Answer to the best of your ability and then move on.
      Honesty, I took my time and still had more than enough time to finish.

      @@lisab7148 also here’s some more advice!
      I would say just practice as many questions as you can! This will help you understand how HESI asks questions and read those rationales!! Also those HESI hints are awesome! Don’t forget PPE and the order how to put it on and off and which diseases require different precautions. You got this!! :)
