Good video. Costco telling me my tires are cupped. No bald spots or uneven wear. I’m going to try another vender. Vibration at highway speeds. They are dedicated winter tires and rims. Michelin Pilot Alpine 245/40 18’s. They have about 6 thousand miles on them from last season. Bought and balanced from Costco. On a 2015 Volvo S80 AWD.
Suuuuper informative. My 03 Honda has a shaking steering wheel mostly coming from the left front tire. The rim looks to have a slight bend on it but I’ll check it on for balancing to see if this resolves the issue. Thank you so much for this video
I just had 4 new General Grabbers installed on my 4Runner. I had a crazy steering wheel shake that would just come and go. I took it back to the tire shop. They replaced the two front tires saying that one of the fronts may have been defective. took it home, rode fine for a couple days and then it came back again. Just comes and goes, really weird. I ordered a set of yokohama Geolanders and they come in Monday so we will see if it was just the tires.
I purchased new tires from a local dealer in July 22. They balanced them and did a alignment on them. He told me to bring the car in after 3000 miles to get them rotated. I did, but he said he didn't balance them. Why didn't he balance them? Thanks for the video
I don't normally comment on youtube but I am greatly impressed. Infact this is the first time I am commenting on any video on youtube. You are very good and I like your video, it is very informative. I have a question, can tyre cause a stationary car to vibrate small small?
I have vibrations and definitely my tires are out of balance since I mounted and static balanced them myself. But hard to find a place which will balance the tires without being subjected to a sales pitch - they will always want to sell something. So I guess I will just live with the vibration.
My shimmy came out of nowhere at precisely 54-57 MPH, but only on a gentle curve of the highway. Tires are 8-month old Michelin CC2's with very low miles, so back they go to Costco for a free balance and rotation. After that, I may change out both lower front control arms (with prefit ball joints) and then get one of my free lifetime alignments at Firestone.
Very helpfull!! If the source of vibration is the tires or rims being bent, is it possible that the vibration will increase a little bit when you hit the brakes? I have this issue with my car, I have new brake rotors and im sure this is not the problem. I get vibration at 55 60mph, and when I brake to leave the high way when I hit the brakes the vibration increases just a little bit more it means there is a vibration and when I hit the brakes the vibration is transmited through the brakes shaking a bit more.
Did you make sure the slide pins are moving freely and did you replace the clips, the pads should slide freely in the clips. Both of those would cause the pads to stick and could cause noise and vibration.

I had a dumb tire guy put balancing beads inside the tire to "help" balance the wheels on my FJ Cruiser. I didn't know he did that. It caused so much vibration at around 55-65 mph that the steering wheel shook violently and the few weights that he did put on fell off the wheels. Balancing beads should only be used on large commercial trucks. I finally found a real mechanic who took all the tires off and discovered those beads. Besides not really needing them the tire guy used way too much. My real mechanic removed the beads and rebalanced all four wheels - problem solved.
Hello. My car (Altima) is bumpy between around 25-35 mph on nice roads. It’s not the steering wheel, but the whole car. Do you think it’s the tire balance or alignment? (The car drives straight when not holding the steering wheel) Thx
Great info, OK I'm about to do rotation so my 2 front are new and I'm rebalancing them before rotating them. So do I put the one on driver side to passenger side then passenger rim/tire to driver side? Or I just put it on same side after I rebalance them, tnx

My truck shakes violently at 60-70 mph but every other speed it doesn’t and it’s only the bed of my truck, not the steering wheel. I bought used 22x12 and noticed on two of the wheels, the tires were extremely choppy and the 2 other ones were even. I put the choppy ones on the back to wear out quicker, and they have, but it still shakes. It’s been 7 months now since I’ve had them on my truck. Do you think it could be the tires? I got everything balanced and aligned when I first put them on.

HELP PLEASE. Walmart put new tires on 2016 Nissan Rogue (90kmiles) and 2014 Nissan Altima (53kmiles); before getting new tires vehicles were driving straight. Rogue - first I have changed rear tires in Rogue at Walmart, after that I noticed the vehicle pulls to the right and I went to Pepboys because Walmart does not have the wheel alignment service; Pepboys fixed the issue but gave me wrong printout from another vehicle, later I went to Walmart to rotate the tires and after that vehicle started pulling left, so I went for realignment to Pepboys again, they fixed that but the printout still says that one of alignments is out of the recommended specs??? SHALL I GO TO PEPBOYS AGAIN MAYBE AT DIFFERENT LOCATION? Altima - changed front tires first at Walmart and vehicle started shaking at higher speeds, so I went to Walmart again and asked them to rebalance the front and put new tires in the rear; after that I removed the wheel cups and I noticed that the weight they put was not attached at all to the wheel (so I returned back to Walmart and I lost the weight on the way) to rebalance the tire again. Today they rebalanced the left front tire but the vehicle started pulling to the right. PLEASE HELP? ARE THOSE MECHANICS SUBBOTAGING CARS in order to get more work/money??? I purchased brand new tires from Walmart and got them installed and balanced but they kept vibrating at even low speeds of 55MPH. I then took them to another shop and the tech noticed they were all out of balance. Getting them balanced was difficult and all four tires required multiple weights, before they showed zero, which wasn't normal for brand new tires. Now, just after a day, the vibration is back. The techs suspicion was that the Walmart tires were bad. I need help, please advice. I drive for rideshare and can't carry people with such vibration. Thanks.
Just got new tires on my car and now my car vibrates after I get to about 45 mph and worse when on the freeway. Very annoying. I’m hoping it’s just balancing

I have aftermarket wheels that vibrate around 70-75ish and sometimes they will vibrate in and out of vibration. Supposedly this is a balance issue and when they are in harmony then the wheels will stop momentarily and then vibrate very badly and then kind of even out depending on the speed? They only really vibrate above 70 and I have no issues below that. Is it worth getting a full road force balance or would a regular balance machine work fine?
