The Leon-Usman upset was crazy. Me and my friends were all really far apart, so one of us streamed the fight and we all watched it together on discord. 15 seconds before the ko, one of my friends said “alright Usman whooped his ass I’m going to bed” and he left the chat. Seconds later Usman got flatlined and we all went nuts, and I mean hands on head, pacing around yelling. My friend was pissed when we face timed him, and needless to say, that was the last time he tuned out of a fight before it was officially over.
When CM Punk in the 6th round landed a beautifully executed Flying Triangle choke spinning double knee on the cranium of Jon “black mr.clean” Jones and then proceeded to body slam joe rogan through the announcers table before he could do his typical joe rogan reaction and then did the worlds first backflip ever!!! Now that was truly the greatest come back of all time bro. He was down 9 rounds and a press conference going into the fifth and managed to pull that hail mary move off!!! Only the second in UFC history!! God bless em! Rip! LLP🕊️ #missed #luvyoupunk #gayforpunk #cmpunk #fuckjonjones #FDR2024 #truestorynotlying
Anderson vs Chael was nuts. Definitely my favorite. Honorable mentions go to Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard 2, Derrick Lewis vs Volkov, Mighty Mouse literal last second finish, Jon Jones Rd5 vs Alexander Gustafson, Pat Barry v Cheick Kongo etc. there's so many.
Depends🤔 When it comes to how the people expected it to play out pre-fight Not really, Kamaru was the favorite for sure but there were a solid amount of people who gave Leon a solid chance But when it comes to how it played out mid fight 100%☝🏿 It was something that nobody saw coming Usman was dominating so much that people thought that Leon just gave up at some point🤷🏿♂️ That was probably the biggest comeback in UFC history
@@STiergoofballAgreed bro, I remember thinking in the middle of the fourth round "Yeah this is it for Leon. Usman's Taken way too much of a lead. Soon, Usman's gonna have two wins over Leon too. Extending his reign of dominance". By the fifth I was damn near checked out and barely paying attention since I knew kamaru was gonna win. But, I was still pondering something. I had an iota of an inclination that Leon might ko him since kamaru's thinking this fight is as good as won. Then it happened, it was 9am where I lived. I remember screaming so loud that I woke up my brother. I was losing my mind while at the same time having a smile on my face because of what I just witnessed. I even shed a few tears that day which I'm not ashamed to admit. Awesome day and one of my top 2 most memorable moments as a UFC fan.
Glad to see Volk getting some love for his performance in the second Max fight, I've often felt like that's the greatest championship rally of all time (being down 2-0 and then coming back to win all 3 rounds to clarify what I mean specifically)
So many great moments in Leon’s win. That pep talk before round 5, the head kick, “P4P headshot dead.” The first KO I just had to walk away and process for a second.
It may not be top 5 but i think Lawler starching Niko Price in his retirement fight was pretty clutch, especially seeings how you said Lawler was washed up and was going to get Ko'ed.
Na, there’s a saying in combat sports; every great champion has one last one great fight in him. That was Robbie’s swan song. It’s hard to call it clutch when he knocked him out in like 30 seconds, you know? But I love Robbie, that performance and him walking out to Last of The Mohicans theme was absolutely goosebump inducing.
Anderson Silva 5th round triangle and Jiri 5th round choke are two of the big ones. Alex with that fifth round left hook on Izzy and Leon’s 5th round head kick on Usman are two of the most clutch striking performances. I think Matt Hughes recovering from the low blow and follow up offense from Trigg to submit him in the same round is really dope, I don’t know if others would consider that to be “clutch” though. Maurice Smith outlasting Mark Coleman was super clutch and impressive because of how huge of an upset it was, and then shifting to his partner in crime Frank Shamrock’s win over Tito was brilliant game planning and super gritty and clutch. Sakuraba outlasting Royce and TKOing him after 90 minutes was clutch and gritty. It’s hard to differentiate clutch wins from gritty wins in mma, I feel like there is a lot of overlap there. Oh! Miesha Tate over Holly Holm if I were to choose one ladies fight for my list it would definitely be that one, you don’t get much more clutch than that. Plus Miesha has the best booty in the history of the sport.
I’m from England. Stayed up basically all night to watch the leon fight. Got to about 2 minutes before the end and gave up, convinced leon came up short. I was so disappointed. Woke up in the morning and saw everything on UA-cam. Mind blown. Got to be one of my biggest regrets😂
I remeber watching Leon vs Usman 2 on call with my good friend. He and I both noticed Leon setting up the headlick in the 5th and he said "Hes setting up the left foot headlick, he keeps going for the leg and body hes about to throw it high" and less than a minute later Leon Smoked Usman and i didnt even realize he hit him until Usman was already on his back. Wild shit
Izzy Alex 5th round should be on this list. The shockwave of damage on Izzy’s face was insane coming against a guy who never was in a 5 round fight in mma.
It took Stipe 5 rounds to figure out that DC has a hard time with body shots and Jon attacked DC’s body from the first round of the first fight on. That’s the difference between the two and that’s why Jones wins, fight iq.
7:45 "people wernt fucking with volk that much." Dude when volk beat max the first time, and after that second max fight, people despised him. To see him be a massive fam favorite after the islam fight is such a change.
Sonnen vs silva is literally Strickland vs izzy but the bad ending version the dominant champ vs the huge underdog that people think are getting the shot because of their "promos" they go in the fight dominant for 5 round but unlike chaeel Strickland didn't get finished in round 5
That Volkanovski performance should not be on this list it was just another close fight between two high level guys, there’s so many of those in the UFC. Bro just has to find any and all opportunities to glaze Volk 😂
This is the first video of yours I've watched so I'm just going to assume your new around here but you seem to have made a mistake. You said chael sonnen was submitted by anderson silva and lost the fight when chael simply chose to drop the round because he knew he was up 4-0. I'm sure you're more of just a casual fan but as long as you know from now on it's all good.
This may be a 'casual' pick but I really think the McGregor-Aldo KO is the most clutch of all time, I don't think there's been a fighter in history who put as much pressure on himself than McGregor did for that fight
Lucas, you’re aware that no fighter goes into a fight at 100% and honestly, I don’t see many fighters getting great sleep before a title fight. I could be wrong, but this “melatonin gate” theory that u tried to push to make the Alex come back even more impressive, was stupid and bad
Problem is that being down 4 rounds and making a KO in the 5th isn't necessarily a clutch if you were setting it up the whole fight. Similarly losing most rounds but it being a tactical fight and then winning a war in the 5th isn't a turn around if it was always coming. Such as Pereira v Adesanya 1, it's a joke when Adesanya fanboys say Israel was "winning the fight". Adesanya was not winning the fight, he was standing infront of an oncoming train.
No intelligent person would willingly drop 4 rounds and then hope to god they can get it in that final round when you’re at your lost damaged and fatigued. Bad take
