- In this video I discuss and rank the most impressive title wins in UFC history. What makes a title win impressive relies on how dominant it was, and how stiff the competition was. What in your opinion is the best UFC title win according this this criteria? Let me know in the comments.

Dillashaw Vs Barao should’ve been on the list as well.. I forgot to add it. Barao was unstoppable before TJ and TJ dominated him to break his streak
Casually leaves out Jan having at least 20+ pounds on Adesanya (generous).
Jones vs Shogun
You also forgot :
Jones vs rampage
Holm vs rousey
Cody vs Cruz
Hill vs teixeira
Mcgregor vs Alvarez
Machida vs Evans
Adesanya vs Costa
Blachowicz vs Rayes
Chris weidman vs Anderson silva
Max holloway vs Jose aldo
Francis vs stipe 2
Jones vs shogun
@@A.K.625weidman Vs Silva was Anderson acting like a complete fool
@@lucastracymma8764 agree but still was an impressive win in my opinion because anderson was the champ for a very long time and no one was see him getting beat at that time, it's like adesanya vs Costa, is hard to take this impressive win by adesanya just because Costa acted like a complete fool in that fight.
Anthony Smith brutally knocking out Jones deserves to be in this video
"On paper"
Lmao so true
I would’ve included that one if this video were on paper
@@lucastracymma8764or on video 🤣
@@lucastracymma8764jj vs shogun should be there to
Sterling's knockout over Yan should have been here. I had never seen a KO by headbutt to the knee. Never will again. Aljo is special
😂😂😂
Lmao never will again 😂
I’ve never seen a downfall quite like yans it’s pretty sad. I mean let’s be real dudes a bum now losing to clowns getting dominated by Merab. That will be his legacy
@@FreeJalen bro no 💀
Why you acting like BJ Penn wasn't losing to unranked mfs like Ryan Hall
Merab is a ranked bantamweight with good wins
Boring fight style doesn't equal bum
Petr still beats the test of the top 15 contenders
@@remyhavoc4463 I agree. Penn's downfall should be studied. Bro went from killer machine to being beaten by fighters with no Wikipedia page 🥶
Conor and Aldo being here instead of his win against Eddie is kinda bizzare. The Jose win was insane cause of Jose's legacy and obv 13 second Ko, but Eddie was a stylistic shutdown. It was one of the most dominant title wins in MMA and done with style too. Not to ride him too hard but, a challenger putting his hands behind his back at the champion will always be a little insane.
Except Eddie wasn’t special, he had what 0 or 1 defense ? Aldo was a LEGEND
I think the criteria is more about how it built the fighters legacy rather than the performance itself, beating a fighter who was undefeated for 10 years who was in goat conversations at that time in 13 seconds is genuinely unheard of.
No one does Eddie like that man, he crazy skilled at surviving difficult situations while rocked and Conor just went, "Bet." And put him away like that.
@@Kevinopilous nobody did aldo like that either...mcgregor put him out in 13 SECONDS couldnt even let him start
Eddie was not a good fighter mate
I think Garbrandt vs Cruz should've made the list. Cruz, widely regarded as the bantamweight goat goes on a big win streak only to get completely shut out by Cody Garbrandt. It's a shame where Cody's career has gone since then
From peaking in the goat debate to the prelims in 0.1 seconds.
Yeah but Cody has zero defences.
Cody literally only won 3-2 . There was also a clash of heads that changed the course of the fight. It wasn’t that impressive of a performance in hind site
Correct, was an incredible performance.
happy it didnt make the list i love cruz
Can’t wait for the second edition of this list with Strickland v Adesanya
Usman’s win over Woodley was incredible. But people will always remember T-Wood from his losses these days :(
It really was an upset imo. I remember skipping it thinking Woodley was gonna have an easy fight 😂
Jake Paul ruined Woolley man
@@thaiboypsp3000the first live fight I watched from woodley after discovering his old fights that shit killed me
how is everyone forgetting how a 42 year old Glover Teixeira fucking humiliated Jan Blachowicz to win the title
Because Jan is a very good match up for Glover
Jan mainly uses his grappling to savely secure a clean win against not very experienced grapplers like he did against Izzy back then
But an elite grappler would make easy work of Jan to be fair
As amazing as he is on the feet
Glover just needed him on the ground and that was it
The other guys on this list either defeated a great allrounder everywhere(Kamaru vs Woodley for example)
Or they defeated a specialist in a specific area where they best(Jones outwrestling DC, Izzy outstriking Rob)
glover took a very small amount of damage but it was very dominating
I can say your my favorite UA-camr , such good videos creative we have similar picks on a lot of stuff . Good energy and funny , I’ll always support you
Jan didn’t dominate Izzy. He clearly out worked him in all rounds. Izzy was still in there doing good work just not enough to win. Domination is Jones vs glover or Jon vs shogun
wasn't it a split decision with Adesanya rocking Jan in the third? how was it Jan domination?
Jan is very technical tho
I mean Izzy had some good moments and won 1 round in my opinion(I think it was the second round where he was very solid, or the third) and Izzy did a lot better than most of the other LHW's on the feet🤷♂️
I mean he did much better than Magomed Ankalaev did on the feet in the his fight with Jan cuz Jan absolutely destroyed Ank's legs, he made Ank hug him for the last 2 rounds of the fight because of that because his legs were to broken to keep going💀
But yeah Jan defeated Izzy on the ground and even could have finished him at the end of the last round
And he also defeated him on the feet
So fair pick for this list
@@STiergoofball Bro what is that random stray to Ank? "Hugged Jan" 💀💀
Mtfk he 10-8 Jan in 5th, look at Jans face after that mauling, he was lucky to hear the bell finally ring as Ankalaev stopped hitting him with hellbows💀
@@yoaregey7296
I mean that's what happened
Jan smashed his legs and Ank was like:,,Man if I keep striking with that dude he will win by smashing my legs"
So he hugged him for the last 10 minutes
He of course clearly won the rounds
But it didn't really do significant damage
Jan did more damage in round 2 or 3 than Ank did in these 2 minutes combined🤷♂️
@@Ar1AnX1xit was a unanimous decision for jan like 49-46 decision on 2 judges cards and he didnt get wobbled at all from any of izzy's shots lol
literally replaced Chales pro UFC daily corpo videos for this guys stuff, love it brother !!
I think Johnny Hendricks against GSP should've been a shout, Johnny Hendricks had an incredible performance against GSP and I believe it should be atleast an honorable mention
I think Anderson Silva vs TRT Vitor Belfort should be included here ( especially since BJ Penn vs Matt Hughes is being included ) because of how big that title win was during that era, Anderson was on the back of the first Chael fight and people thought Vitor could win since Chael was winning most of the fight then Anderson front kick KOd him in the first round and left no doubt who was the best middleweight at that time. Great video as well it was a great watch 👍
Nah vitor wasn’t on trt for that fight
@@jadenthelistener1700 was absolutely using anabolic steroids. The TRT Vitor was just his prime form when it was sanctioned by the athletic commissions. He was only really TRT Vitor that’s regularly mentioned from 2012-2014.
Volk shutting down Holloway the first and third time and even still winning the second time keeps getting more impressive as time goes on considering max has beat all the other contenders such as yair, allen, and kattar
Damn wish Strickland over Izzy coulda made this list 😭
It definitely should have
Usman is COMPLETELY and UTTERLY the CEO of EPO
Love your vids
Great Video probably cause I first commented and then watched the video
Not putting Cody garbrandt vs Dominick Cruz on the list is criminal
Great video bro
Appreciate it. Thank you
it has to be Conor win against Aldo, there no way you can just ko a legend like Aldo in just 8 sec, sure Aldo did seem broken but man that was something special
and no cruz vs Garbrant eitehr... missed 2 title fight gems that should be in the top 5 of alot of peoples lists
great vid, didn't realise who I was watching until your face turned up as there was a lack of pereira throating
I’d say GSP’s most impressive win was over Jon Fitch. Fitch was on like a 16 fight win streak and GSP went out there and dropped him on 3 different occasions and annihilated him.
Dana was absolutely crying tears of joy watching Fitch get raped by the Canadian nice guy
i think strickland beating the shit out of adesanya needs to be here now
Good video bro
Thank you 🙏🙏
You’ve grown on me lad. I’ll be praying for ya that God makes sure you make the rapture. Any questions about how to be saved, let me know. Cheers and May the Lord give you the understanding. Amen.
McGregor vs Alvarez was one of the greatest title wins of all time or arguably the greatest title win of all time
Paddy with his impressive win over Jared Gordon with a flying triangle deserves to be in this list
Completely disagree with Conor being on here for Aldo when all he did in that fight was throw 1 total punch instead of his fight against Eddie where he absolutely destroyed him on the feet then entire feet and completely outclassed him
Good picks
I kinda miss Jon Jones vs Shogun
And McGregor vs Alvarez😕
You should do the same outside of title fight wins too👌
And then include stuff like:
- Holloway vs Cattar(you can add several Holloway performances in a list like that cuz the guy is just the biggest gatekeeper in the history of the company and smokes all contenders at 145💀)
- Silva vs Griffin
- Izzy vs Brunson
- Whittaker vs Vettori
- Khamzat vs Holland
- Diaz vs Conor 1
Problem with most of those is most people expected those people to win, other than Diaz Vs Conor. Nobody thought Holland was beating khamzat 😂
@@account-pb2df
Ok that's a fair point
As an old man that's been watching since the beginning, I gotta mention Randy Couture's win over Tim Silva and Maurice Smith's head kick ko over Mark "the Hammer" Coleman.
What about Bj Penn beating Matt Hughes for the belt? Him moving up and choking out Matt was wild back then Matt was the juggernaut at 170 and Bj was the best 155er in the world at the time
Lucas when ure not biased your at your best just like on predicting the Jared-Vettori fight, you earned my sub with that 1 but your biases do make you engage so do your thing
dont u ever change
Nice vid
Rda beating the life out of Showtime Pettis and tj beating barao is easily in my top 5 most impressive
Although it was an interm title win I think that gaechi vs tony Ferguson is not talked enough about, gaechi put on a masterclass against tony who was on a 12 fight win streak and just a monster
tony ferguson was in a training camp for khabib who has the complete opposite style then gaethje so idk if i’d put it but still a great performance
@@frrancososaalol that’s not an excuse and that shouldn’t take away from justin’s performance
Honorable mention could have been Dominic cruz vs Cody Garbrandt since he shut him down completely and same goes to sean strickland most recently vs adesanya. I know I am bit late to this video but I am a new subscriber
Great video but definitely left some out. Super hard to get all the worthy fights in one video though
Dillashaw vs Barao and cody vs cruz should be there
Great video but I have no idea why you left out Cody Vs Cruz, it is often reffered to as the best title performace of all time.. in a video "The Most Impressive Title Wins In UFC History" that is a mention I feel you can't leave out
Superb breakdown but Cody Gabrant VS Dominic Cruz should have been here.
No mention for Glover vs Hill? That was such a bad asswhooping
I knew you’d have Jan and Izzy 🤣 it was a good win but most dominant title wins is a stretch. Love the Izzy hating tho
I mentioned Izzy’s win over Whittaker in this one as well brother
He just needed to find the Izzy hate somehow
But to be fair
The title says most impressive, not dominant
@@lucastfitness7299yeah but that fight in comparison to Jan and Izzy was way more
@@STiergoofballtrue, but a 48-46 or 49-45 with no knockdowns or big damage isn’t INSANE ygm
where is garbrandt cruz curly
I should’ve added that one as well
Cruz vs Cody should be up there
elevation will ruin the BMF card too with fighters gassing out left and right(not completely ruin it since except for the main event most fighters and their opponent will gas out since they're both not used to it, but it's an obvious advantage for Justin)
What do you think about Cody vs Dom?
I think that one deserves a spot...
not even a mention..... so silly, puts dom reyes vs jones in this list when dom shoulda won zzzz
Others that should make the cut should be Tj vs barao
Jones vs rampage
Holm vs rousey
Olivera vs gaethje
Volk vs zombie
Cody vs cruz
Ngannou vs stipe
Hill vs texeira
And if we count interim yair vs emmet gaethje vs ferguson and dustin vs max come to mind
For me most impresive was Blachowicz Reyes. Reyes just won on JJ. Błachowicz have 8:1. And he outclass Reyes. He can't do anything to turn this fight. Jan beat him and Reyes never be this same fighters again. Second is both fights Silva - Waidman. Cris do something that cant be imagine for anyone. We also consider as impresive all fights between Cormier Stipe.
even when silva was trying he was showboating like that he literally did it all the time when he wanted to bait opponents
My list for the most Impressive UFC title fight wins.
1. Jon Jones vs Shogun Rua. (This Is and will always be #1, Shogun was a former Pride legend and definitive hall of famer, who''s Idolized by dominant athletes like Khabib, and Jon before he was even at the age of 23 made Shogun tap to strikes. I don't need to say more.)
2. GSP vs Hughes 2.
3. Silva vs Belfort.
4. Aldo vs Mcgregor.
5. Usman vs Woodley.
6. Adesanya vs Whittaker 1.
7. Volk vs Holloway 3.
8. Stipe vs Werdum.
9. Cruz vs Dillashaw.
10. DJ vs Cejudo.
Honorable mentions (Put these here mainly because although ON RECORD, they don't really count as wins from those who lost these fights and obviously majority of these being from the contenders, but measuring from performance In specifically they were a true testament to the heart and determination of these fighters).
1. Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson.
2. GSP vs Carlos Condit.
3. Volk vs Islam.
4. Silva vs Sonnen 1.
5. Adesanya vs Gastelum.
There's also others you can place here, but these are my top 5 personally. Great video btw, Lucas.
Garbrandt vs cruz
W for including Silva vs Belfort
Fun fact Whittaker doesn’t have a single win over a former ufc champion
Besides himself there are only 2 champs in the division.
Lucas you need to be a professor in mma because videos like these straight up look like lectures
Lol thank you my man
Bro predicts 80% of his fights wrong
Lucas i was comparing ur Socialblade projections against MMA Guru’s and u are expected to surpass him in subs in just over 12 months
Honorable mention Chael vs Anderson 1
DJ Vs either Benavidez or Cejudo 1 gotta be here, also Cruz Vs DJ/Cruz Vs TJ(even though that was very close).
How can you call Reyes vs Jones a robbery, but not DJ vs CCC 2? Both were clear robberies.
I wholeheartedly believe that TJ Dillashaw vs Renan Barao 1 is the greatest underdog win of all time, he came in late, wasnt in top 3, wasn’t given a hope in hell and Renan hadn’t lost in like 10 years or something with a 30 fight win streak or something, for sure this should be there no doubt
I would add charles vs justin or khabib vs dustin
Brock lesnar beating Randy Cotoure in just his 4th MMA fight he's ever had, his 3rd UFC fight, and only his 2nd UFC win. Even tho brock was on every mg of sauce under the sun, it was still impressive to do what he did at the time. Until he eventually lost to cain, Brock was looked at as the scariest man on the planet. his early career and especially that win did a lot for the ufc. i remember watching his walkouts, the only thing that comes close is prime mcgregor. You just knew this guy was trying to kill someone
i dont know if this makes my top 5 because im going more off of cultural impact on this one, not skill. because we all know brock was just a wrestler on steroids with no cardio. but we didnt look at him like that at the time. We were all in shock at brocks early ufc run
Yeah back in the day people were talking about how good woodly was but now people say that he is not that good
Jan is the most technical striker at LHW, no one changing my mind
there is a fake narrative going around that jan beat izzy by taking him down. most people who say that didn’t watch the fight, i always tell people jan out struck izzy and neutralized the leg kicks but people grab onto what they want to
Honestly I'm Izzy's biggest fanboy but I hate it when people make excuses for him, Izzy was outworked on the feet and the ground in that fight
Top 3 for me.
Jones vs Shogun
Conor McGregor vs Jose Aldo
Garbrandt vs Cruz
no one thought shogun was winning stop
what about garbrandt vs cruz?
What makes the jan win over izzy even more impressive is that many of izzy's significant strikes landed were leg kicks that were checked. So in reality, jan basically was unhittable. People acted as if izzy only lost that because jan was bigger, but sean showed up and did the same thing to him but worse
You know why I love Lucas??? Bcos I saw him admit that adesanya is that good when he knocked out Pereira
Best Lucas moment ever. He turned Red in the face
Cody garbrandt vs dom should be on here and Connor vs Eddie also. And if there was girls I’d throw in holm vs rousey and nunes vs Peña
I love how youtubers talk about any opinion that doesn't agree with them a "people going to their keyboards and complaining" and then they grovel with "Please comment on the video.......". The truth is that just because you are assertive doesn't mean you are right. In fact your predictions are usually wrong.
izzy fanboys in comment section making excuses made me laugh, grow up kids
"Charles walked down Dustin and broke him in the clinch in the 1st" is not how i remember that at all but maybe i gotta watch again lold
Luke Rockhold vs Chris Weidman has to be up there
You also forgot :
Chris weidman vs Anderson silva
Max holloway vs Jose aldo
Francis vs stipe 2
Jones vs shogun
Silva clowned around the first time and broke his leg the second time. Less to do with Weidmanns performance
Aldo is a bum against legit comp
Stipé was 38 coming off of 3 wars with DC and was 37 lbs lighter than Ngannou.
Jones vs Rua is legit.
STRICKLAND GOTTA BE ON THE NEXT ONE
First entry is Lucas trying to pretend that he's watched any MMA from before 2014
Lol I never said I watched the early 2000’s fights live
ummm, tj vs barao
I think Garbrandt vs Cruz should be on here ngl
really thought McGregor vs Alvarez would be in this list. that was an absolute schooling
woodley vs usman is like natrual vs enhanched
The criteria which you yourself fixed, Makhachev vs Charles should have been No 1 on the list . Keeping in mind the win streak both of them were carrying, p4p ranking of Charles and the skill level of both fighters , no other fight even come close.
Dillashaw and Barao
McGregor vs alverez should definitely be up here complete domination, Cody vs Dominick Cruz
It’s criminal that Cody vs cruz wasn’t in the video
Lucas laved seeing you credit Izzy, but not that one…. Remember that rob was coming off multiple serious surgeries and was bed ridden. He was rushed into unifying the title
Saying that Dom “popped Jons head around like a pinball machine” is pretty nuts. A bit of coping going on.
Very modern day picks what about old school fights
What about Cody garbrandt vs Dominick Cruz. Also, rose vs Joanna 1
Sometimes I don't know what planet Lucas is on. Volk absolutely had some hype when he fought max, and people were calling him one of his toughest matchups.
It’s McGregor vs. Aldo and it isn’t remotely close.
Francis when he kod Stipe was scary he outwrestled him was patient and knocked him out showing how he had evolved
Jon jones chin is underrated, we haven’t even seen him stunned yet
Where the hell is Stipe vs. Ngannou 1? Or even the second one?
Gsp vs Jon Fitsch was crazy and correction gsp is both better and greater then Jones
For me
5. Jan over Izzy
4. Sera over GSP
3. Conor over Aldo
2. Silva vs. Sonnen 1
1. Robbie Lawler stopping Rory Macdonald in that 2nd fight
Jon Jones was defending his title against DC, not winning the title.
Tj beating barao? 🤨 he was such a big underdog in that fight and smooshed him
Trt
jan beating izzy lowkey isnt shocking because izzy went up in a weight class which is what 20 pounds ahead cmon now middle weight is 185 lhw is 205 ... and izzy was literally 200.5
these men are humans its literally a formidable opponent who was also on a tear
its not like jan is a buns fighter he would have had a 9 fight win streak if he beat thiago santos in 2019
Izzy should have put some weight on worked his takedown defense then took that matchup
I think a rematch between these 2 would be great
Izzy improved a lot since then
And he gained some more weight top
Cody vs Cruz was a masterclass also went to decision and proved Cruz was no longer top dog
Glover Texeira vs Jan Blaschowics
Yessir
How is Blachowicz vs Adesanya an impressive win? Beating a natural 185 pounder who came up too small at the weigh ins? Bro is just an izzy hater.
Make sure to add yair Rodriguez vs volk here next wooo viva🇲🇽
Won’t happen
