Yes this aggravated me too - it took me a while to realize that the capture preview unhelpfully defaults to 100% zoom; setting the zoom to Auto will let you see where the selection box is hiding in the frame so you don't need to adjust your capture area (I find when I make small changes like that I inevitably forget to reset them until its too late.) It'd be nice if they snapped to the box area when you first start the process. Appreciate the in-depth walk thru, thanks!
Hello Kevin, when I used SharpCap analysis I clicked on the screen to have the red box appear and I just enlarged it until the program was happy. I did notreduce the resolution and used the maximum throughout. Just a quick word to say I enjoed this video and I have now subscribed. Happy frustrations to Astrophotography.
Thanks Kevin. I’m a newb to TEC CMOS cameras having just come over from the DSLR world. I’m watching your video for the 3rd time after running Sharpcap Sensor Analysis on my ZWO ASI533MCC Pro. Your explanation of determining offset is pretty valuable. I’ve been using my camera at Unity gain with no offset and I think that it explains some of my results. Now that I am arm with this info I’m going to work out the offset for my specific camera and try some of those objects again, this time including the determined offset value.
Hello Kevin, I really appreciate you sharing valuable info. I'm new at this, what a great video. Question, I don't see the offset value bar in my camera control panel. I noticed yours in the Gain function category. I'm running the latest version of SC pro. Where would I find offset value slide bar? Thanks again, your video is spot on and helped gain more knowledge. Thanks for sharing!
Kevin thanks for this video, really helpful as I have just received my QHY268c and wasn't too sure on the process in SharpCap. Great channel, keep the videos coming.
Thanks Kevin! I just got a ZWO 294MCPro and your info sure helped! I am trying to find that sketchboard on amazon can you list the model? The ones I found looked like they only had a black background. Thanks
Search Amazon for "tiktecklab A4 Size Ultra-Thin Portable Tracer White LED Artcraft Tracing Pad Light Box w dimmable Brightness for 5D DIY Diamond Painting Artists Drawing Sketching Animation, Black"
Sorry for so many posts but Have you tried N.I.N.A Software for your setup yet? It is a fantastic open source program and I am sure you will love it. Just search for N.I.N.A .
Thanks finally someone explains this. I don’t use Nina so had no idea what to do with it 😊

Yes I have thanks.
Offset is a setting to stop a zero pixel reading
Thanks
