  • This is How NOT to Highline after all, so here is a rigging example A-Z to get the big picture of highline rigging. Michael Melner found this area and this was a line he established prior. It is rigged all natural meaning there are no bolts installed so we wrap trees and boulders. With BFKs or Big Fat Knots, each anchor point is independent. Main webbing gets tensioned, and backup webbing does not. Everything is redundant.

Great video as always, another great way to send a tag over, would be using the same throw weight as used in this, but get a bigshot, can easily send an 8oz weight 120' straight up in the air, i can imagine it would send a weight 150-200' straight out at a slight angle

how do you decide what length the backup can be to still be safe? Like in this video you said “this is safe” but how do you decide on that?

When you say “if I had my line grip I wouldn’t have to hold it”, how would that work?

A big shot is totally worth it for launching a throw ball. You can get a 6 oz. ball with fishing line to go far and be accurate.

At around 13:15 Ryan mentions newer weblocks have an auto locking feature. Anyone know which weblocks have this?

BC AWL 5 and the Raed Riglock have the locking features. There are some others also.

Look at a Bowline and a Sheetbend. Same knot but one makes a loop and the other ties 2 ropes together.

You should try using a potato cannon for getting the tag line across

it doesn't change anything. I just got out of a cave and all the cows tails (personal anchors) are two wraps. It's pretty common

learn the rules like a pro so you can break them like an artist looks like it is a Pablo Picasso quote, and he lived 1881-1973. a variation of the same quote is attributed to a Dalai Lama
