Yeah, as much as I like Cosmo, and from what I know he's fantasy. Now if you're one of the few that went on a joy ride, and they where courteous enough to drop off on the right planet then that's a different story.
I soooo wish they'd release a version of Transformers 2007 movie with Devastator changed to Brawl. I know it's a super tiny detail but it drives me crazy every time I get to that part 😂

@@RetroRenegade8706 I agree with you 100%, Swindle does look like a jeep in the G1 Series. This video is based off the real vehicles that where used or inspired Takara/Hasbro to create the Diaclone/Transformer Toys which then became a character in the G1 Series. For example, the way Battle Convoy was a Diaclone Robot that transformed into a Freightliner truck before he was Optimus Prime in the G1 cartoon. Swindle's first figure is a FMC XR311, but it was unusual that his Alt mode's image translated diffrently onto the G1 series. Yeah so true. Even though those aircraft really were their real-world alt modes, each one of them in the show was a modified version of those aircraft so that Hasbro could add abilities into the story as needed that the real life aircraft didn't have. For example, the vertical fans within Thrust's wings suggested vertical takeoff and landing abilities, which actually got shown in the episode that Red Alert's logic circuits were on the fritz and the Decepticons were trying to get Negavator from the Autobots. It was kind of weird though seeing Ramjet and Dirge showing similar abilities when it only made sense for Thrust.

Um that was Optimus Prime saying that line and letting Megatron know that Optimus had anticipated that he'd have the Stunticons be a combiner and Optimus had done the same with the Aerialbots as a countermeasure.
@@TammyBunderballs it just shows and reminds us that the original Transformers, that we now call G1, could be both fun and serious at the same time and very often was. And that debunks the chatter from some overzealous gatekeeping fans that the humor in the upcoming Transformers One dishonors the original. How can that be when we both see how the great Peter Cullen's iconic performances very often made the original Optimus Prime both funny in the sense that you mean here and funny in the comedic sense? 🤣😂
So I guess you missed that whole rocket defense base shown in addition to the tank and labeled as Omega's alt mode with the tank merely being just one portion zeroed in on.

When they began to get away from real world vehicles, planes and objects they lost the plot. Same thing with GI Joe. What made them so cool was having toys that resembled things in the real world. All those "futuristic" designs were pretty awful.

Poor Cosmos wasn't in the list because he was based on a fantasy vehicle. A u.f.o.😂
The closest thing we got to his alt mode is a landmine, because it’s round and green, but still that doesn’t count since it’s not a vehicle

Honestly this is the most accurate list of inspirations, my only criticism would have to be swindle tho. He was definitely a jeep

I did like the combiner at 3:32 being made of several famous cars besides Optimus Prime. But what car forms its left leg? Would that be K.I.T.T.?
