Interesting, in cannon lore Piltover originates in consequence of Zaun, when in Arcane it is the opposite.
Yeah, that’s a succinct way of summarizing it! After we cover Zaun next week we’ll touch on the explicit differences between Arcane and traditional canon.
I don't think it has to be mutually exclusive? Zaun could be a former nation that had to be conquered by Piltover to guarantee their survival. Couple centuries later after they're well established as part of Piltover they want independence, I don't think Silco randomly naming the place Zaun would be easy unless it has some connections to the place
@@raspberrycrowns9494 I think this is pretty well reasoned and agree! While it certainly seems like the origins are slightly different (the Sun Gates don’t exist currently in Arcane lore as they’ve been swapped with Hex Gates) I think there’s lots of ways to massage the origins to be closer to one another. There’s gotta be some historical significance to Zaun, I also agree Silco wouldn’t have plucked the name out of thin air.
Don't be surprised if season 2 of Arcane goes into the history of Zaun a bit more.
As someone who enjoys writing and world building, It’s painful how good the story of Runeterra is.

@@HenryM_Edits I think that s3 is a good opportunity to introduce seraphine, I kind of hate her, but maybe they show the human side of the character and the connection with other camps.
My predictions
S2: Warwick, Camille, Twitch, Renata Glasc (obviously) and maybe Blitzcrank
S3: Seraphine, Urgot and I hope Jhin (because of the cinematic with camille)
Also, the "handsome man" had some interesting theories about. He his very similar to the Ionian girl that Mel's mom murder in the flashback, check it out

So from what i hear, Zaun is the original while Piltover is its successor?
Sort of, yeah! Zaun as we know it right now is the portion of Oshra Va'zaun that fell when the tragedy occurred (at least, as the lore currently works - although this could all change as they rework the universe to have Arcane be canon), and Piltover is the city built above it!
Since hextech is basically living creatures of skarners race they should’ve made seraphines character be anti hextech since she can hear the souls and start a Revolution but no instead she just makes fun of skarner and sings songs for kda advertisement
And then there is Seraphine :|
