If you're struggling with the Lynels, you can indeed cross the mountains to the northeast of where you find the horse for a little more tricky but Lynel-free route. :)

The Giant Horse is actually much better for travel than his stats let on. Realistically his long distance traveling is better than a 3 speed 5 stamina horse, but inferior to the 5 speed 3 stamina horse.
Gladley, do you know if the horse respawns if it's released? I have him in my roster but there are other horses I would prefer to have (he isn't my favorite lol)
Is it possible to be absolutely insane and get this horse insanely early? Like, right out of the tutorial early? Does it function like normal horses where all taming attempts stack over the duration of your attempts?
Yes, you can indeed get this horse the instant you're given the paraglider. It takes a bit of preparation, getting stealth foods and elixers, as well as stamina recovering items to stay on the thing. Once you tame him, you can ride him fairly safely past the Lynels to Highland Stable: as long as you don't dawdle, the Lynels won't pursue. As for taming attempts, I don't know. I just stuffed my pockets with as many stamina recovery foods I could make and kept cramming them in Link's face when the wheel ran low. XD I did this exact thing for my second playthrough and made him my primary companion. He's a great horse.
I wish there was a way to have more...I want to collect all the different patterns XD It would be cool if they added a "Rebuild Lon Lon Ranch" DLC where you had to catch a horse of each pattern/color for research and then you can assign 5 horses at a time to an active roster to use at small stables. Or they can at least patch the game so that Quest horses, like the Giant Horse and the Royal White Stallion, don't count towards the roster. Freeing up those 2 slots would be great :)
Actually it has no affect on trampling damage. A 2 strength and 5 strength horse both do 30 damage on ramming things. The giant horse does 60 though, but it's not because of it's strength. Normal 5 strength horses still do 30.
1-star Strength: 60 HP 2-Star Strength: 120 HP 3-Star Strength: 180 HP 4-Star Strength: 240 HP 5-Star Strength: 300 HP "Strength" is a misleading name since this stat only affects health. The Giant Horse has a unique hidden stat where it deals double damage to enemies. All horses do 30 trampling damage and 5 kicking damage, but the Giant Horse does 60 trampling damage and 10 kicking damage.
I wish there was an option for customizing this horse at all. It's so big that no other saddle will fit!

Gladley Gaming oh thanks i'll try that
Gladley Gaming, I'll be getting a Nintendo switch, with zelda, got any tips to start me off?
If u can’t beat a lynel you’re bad at botw, I mean getting a game over is fine but cmon it’s worth fighting and getting ur upgraded barbarian armor.
This is my favorite horse in the game, but I was kinda bummed when I learned that it can't equip my horse armor.
It makes me think of the times i saw a shire horse as a kid. Those things are massive and to me as a tiny kid they looked as big as this horse
I love when the horse ran away after you got hit 😂 I was shouting "Noooooooooo! Horsey come baaaack!"
The horse took care of itself first, I respect that :p
Can't believe how much it resembles Ganon's horse...
I tried about ten times with three stamina wheels and still couldn't tame the damn thing
inyojelly It works better if you mash faster.
i got mine in 2 stamina wheels
+inyojelly Keep trying, never give up.
@@beinbian i did in 1 and in a half
Yeah me too! It’s so frustrating. I’ve been trying for hours.

This horse is scary. I don't know why.

I did read this as well, definitely made me reconsider the giant horse, will try using it a bit more now.
Thank you so much for this helpful video, keep up the good work.
OMG i got that horse and i didn't even know it was Ganondorf's xD
I named her Cherry.
Him.
After Robbie’s Ancient Oven?
Gladley, do you know if the horse respawns if it's released? I have him in my roster but there are other horses I would prefer to have (he isn't my favorite lol)
I will now stike fear into my enemies
I though the smaller horses were pony’s from afar until I got close

every time i try this it takes so long to hold on to it and i can never tame it for some reason
How do you get the bridle and stuff on him? Mine is just naked lol.
I would SO ride that into battle!
you can't warp using the giant horse?
How do you get the recovery stamina
DO A VEIDEO OF FIND ING LYNELS
I have a question. Is there a way to get more then 5 horses? I just like them and want to have more.
Not that I know of, sadly.

I would love that!
Bruh. Why didn't you show us the recipe. Literally the biggest part
I have a horse with 5 stamina 3 speed full strength
It seems cool but in reality that horse is actually pretty much a downgrade to the giant horse.
Can someone explain what horse strength actually does?
The more strength, the more health the horse has.
Ryan Tucker It increases how much trampling damage the horse does.
Actually it has no affect on trampling damage. A 2 strength and 5 strength horse both do 30 damage on ramming things.
The giant horse does 60 though, but it's not because of it's strength. Normal 5 strength horses still do 30.
1-star Strength: 60 HP
2-Star Strength: 120 HP
3-Star Strength: 180 HP
4-Star Strength: 240 HP
5-Star Strength: 300 HP
"Strength" is a misleading name since this stat only affects health.
The Giant Horse has a unique hidden stat where it deals double damage to enemies. All horses do 30 trampling damage and 5 kicking damage, but the Giant Horse does 60 trampling damage and 10 kicking damage.
